Kaizers Orchestra plays two festivals this weekend, "Granittrock" in Groruddalen right outside of Oslo on friday the 4 th of september, and at "Verket 09" in Mo i Rana on saturday the 5 th.
These will be the last gigs the band do this year, concluding an active summer festival season, mainly in Norway, counting 20 shows.
- It's been really good yes. We've done the festivals we did not get around to last summer. There are quite a lot of them, and it's been a pleasure to visit Norway from top to bottom this summer! Says Janove The Jackal Kaizer.
- So how about 2010? How is that looking for you guys?
- Next year will mainly be focused on wrapping up the songwriting, rehearsing and recording the next chapter of the Kaizer adventure. The future starts in 2010!
- No tours?
- We have discussed doing a small tour of Norway in the winter of 2010, and we are still looking into that without having settled anything as of yet. Aside from that we do not plan on playing any shows until there is a new album out.
- The one you record next year, when will that be out?
- We are thinking album release early 2011.
- So what are you doing this fall then?
- We will be meeting up to rehearse new material, so we'll definatly stay in shape. And as you know we all have different motors going, alongside the Kaizer train. I have been producing a couple of albums lately for other artists, due for release this fall, I'll also be doing school tours with my "bluegrass" outfit "Tresko", Terje is gigging and writing new material with Skambankt, Geir is working on a new solo project, due for release first half of next year sometime, Rune is involved in making an album with a buddy of his, Øyvind has his jazz projects and his basement he needs to fix, Helge... I think he workes in the mines or something.
Allright. Last call for seeing Kaizers Orchestra live this year then this weekend !

(Scroll for english translation!)
English please...
At a press conference at Rogaland Theater last week, theater manager Arne Nøst – together with author Tore Renberg and a couple of familiar faces from Kaizers Orchestra – announced that the theater will be putting on a rather special play.
The four are planning a premiere of the Kaizers-based play "Sonny" at Rogaland Theater in 2011!
The play will be built around the textual universe of the first three Kaizers albums: Ompa til du dør, Evig pint and Maestro. The text and character gallery in the lyrics will provide the main frame of the story, but the play itself will be written by author and playwright Tore Renberg. This will indeed be a grand local effort!
- People have told us from day one that our music is very visual and cabaret-ish, so in a way it has always been kind of a given that this material one day would be performed on a theater stage somewhere, says Janove Kaizer.
- At the same time we have felt that both we and the music needed to mature a bit before doing something like this, adds Geir Kaizer.
- And it is amazing to have such a great team lined up now that we are finally doing this. Stavanger is our home ground, we are fans of Tore Renberg, and Arne Nøst and Rogaland Theater seem to us as very enthusiastic and open-minded. Doing this in 2011 is also great, as it will coincide with our ten-year anniversary as a band. An optimal summing up of a somewhat unusual piece of Norwegian rock history, one might say.
- The play will not be based on our twenty most downloaded tracks, and then spun around them Mamma Mia-style, you know. It is the Kaizer lyrics and the script that Tore carves out from them that will form the foundation of the play. We will be using the lyrics and the music that do the story and the mood the most justice. We will re-record parts of our back catalogue to be used in connection with the play, but the songs will of course be sung by the actors. And as for who will get the parts, we will just have to wait and see…

As some of you may have noticed, our homepage www.kaizers.no is down at the moment. Not much to our surprise, people have been asking us what is up with that. Why is it down, and for how long will it be down for. Answer is, - we really don't know. We have been trying to get in touch with our contact persons at mubito for the past five days, but all our mail have failed to reach their designated recipient. Why, we don't know. What we know is that mubito has gone bankrupt, and has been taken over by another company. Last thing we heard is that that will not affect the Kaizer website. Apparantly that is not the case. So all we can do is wait and see what happens. We'll get back to you as soon as we know anything more. P.S. You should be out playing around in the sun now anyway, not sitting indoors staring into your laptop

It isn't only the release "Våre Demoner" in itself that is special; also the sales procedure will be somewhat out of the ordinary this time around! You see, the CD version of the album will only be available in stores for one week – or six regular workdays, that is, from Monday April 27 until Saturday May 2. If we had released this news item on last Wednesday, we would probably have been accused of pulling an April Fools prank. We are, however, not trying to pull anyone's leg.
- We thought that to limit the availability would be a good way to reflect and symbolize the exclusive and limited edition aspects of this release, says Geir Kaizer cryptically. – Well, the content in itself isn't all that exclusive, so we therefore thought that it would be a clever idea to limit the time frame in which it is available, as a way of illustrating that this is an exclusive release, as say compared to a regular album. This is a compilation of left-over material, discarded ideas that we've given a work-over, mainly intended for the most die-hard Kaizers fans out there. We figured that they won't need more than a week to get to a record store and pick up a copy, anyhow, so what the hell, you know. I don't think this has ever been done before, either, so we're truly in the innovation business now! - So, the total number of copies that will be out there depends solely on how many you'll be able to sell this week alone? There might be a reason that this has never been tried before, have you ever thought of that?
- Your mental arithmetic is impressive, my friend! But yes, we have thought of that, and we're not stressed out by it. If we sell 5 copies this week, then 5 copies is the number that will be out there … in addition to the 500 copies that I plan to put aside and keep, of course … and if we sell 10 000 copies, then that will be the number of copies in circulation. The main point, though, is that we'll never print a second edition of this album. - There's also talk of a digipack version, and what about vinyl and digital sales?
- We'll make a digipack version in an edition of 3000 copies. If we sell more than that, the rest will be regular dual cases. Other than that, there's no difference in content between these two versions. We'll also print a vinyl edition of 800 copies, and digitally, the album will be available in the usual way, like all other albums.
- How many copies do you expect to sell during this one week, then?
- We're hoping to sell 5-6000 copies during the course of these six days.
It might be a good idea to get your hands on not one, but two copies of this release!

Turnélista ser altså slik ut: 29 april Garage, Bergen (18 års aldersgrense) 30 april Cementen, Stavanger (21 års aldersgrense) 1 mai Mono, Oslo (22 års aldersgrense) 2 mai Blæst, Trondheim (20 års aldersgrense) OBS: Til Cementen-konserten legges 40 billetter ut for salg i baren mandag andre mars klokken 22:00 !
- He-he, godt spørsmål! (fra kaizers.no)

The trash calendar ist da!
Kaizers wunderbaren german fan site www.kaizers.de are keeping the christmas spirit alive, this years christmas calendar is ready! Special for you!!
Shirin and Thomas from the relentless, yet lovely "save-me-kaizer-team" dropped by a rather shabby seven-gigs-in-row-and -starting-to-look-like-it-too bunch of Kaizers in the pittoresque south German town of Aschaffenburg this November. The motley gang of autobahn mileage collectors had been warned that they would be submitted to some appropriate trash-calendar stunts, and reluctantly appeared on the trash-set, waving goodbye to (an allready descending) sosial status in order to get the right amount of trash into the equation and stepping up for the greater good. Hero of day was Helge ofcourse, who as always were a stranger to any feeling of embarrasment, and went to it like a duck to water. All praise to him. So special for you, straight outta Kaizers.de's own Kaizer weinachtsmarkt, we present the Trash Calendar!! Be sure not to miss out on this!!

Kaizers Orchestra are just about to embark on the euro part of the 250 Prosent Tour. The band plays 14 shows in 15 days through six countries.
- It's been a really great year for us so far, but we're expecting this last club tour of the year to top it all! Says an enthusiastic The Jackal Kaizer. The charismatic singer is still not resting on his laurels. - We just played eight shows here in Norway, kind of a fan-tour, exploring the dim lit corners of our song catalogue together with our most hard core fans. And it was really fun, both for us and our audience I think. It was almost like being in a band at the start up again, but with so much more security about what's going on, so we're pretty up about this tour. - Is the european part of it going to be as experimental as the norwegian was? - No, we're thinking more of a 50-50 rariety - hit thing for this part, and when I say "hit" I mean Kaizerhit, not conventional hits ofcourse, compared to maybe 80-20 in Norway. We're thinking that fewer people know the songs that well in Europe, but we would make the claim that we got a lot of good songs, and it is actually hard to distinguish which ones are so called "hits" and which ones are not, so we'll see what we end up with. - Also on this tour the Kaizers are bringing a five piece band from Belgium, Mintzkov, how did you get in touch with them? - It was actually our manager who made us aware of them. He saw them at PopKomm in Berlin, and recommended them for us. Usually we only bring one guy, because the bus can only fit so many, but this band got their own means of transportation so they will be playing the whole tour with us. We never brought a full band on tour with us before, so I we're excited about this! (from www.kaizers.no)

Kaizers Orchestra brought a digital mixer on their "Maskineri Tour" this year. Yeah yeah, you couldn't care less, what is a digital mixer anyway, we'll probably all laugh at it in some ten years, just wait and see. Fair enough, maybe we will, hang on to your scepticism, but what that means is that every show on this tour was recorded, which is nice. Don't deny it. The brand new live album "250 Prosent" (yes, because that is how you spell percent in Norwegian (Norwegian? Why the hell Norwegian?? (Oh, shut up!))) was recorded during the GAS leg of the tour (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and the record is available now, and note: only on vinyl and on Itunes.
In Norway you can get the vinyl in these stores:
var Skei (Sandnes) Record World (Sandnes) Apollon (Bergen) Platekompaniet The Garden (Tønsberg) Big Dipper Records (Oslo) Lite nytt (Lærdal) Jukebox (Ålesund)
If you have/know of any -stores that might want to distribute this record, get in touch with Black Soul Family on myspace, http://www.myspace.com/blacksoulfamily
P.S. "250 Prosent" is available on Itunes Plus. No DRM, no limitations, and 80% of the price you pay comes back to the band/record label. The digital version includes the song "Ompa til du dør"
See you all on the upcoming "250 Prosent Tour"!!
