Recently, I received an email from someone who had interviewed me a
couple years ago, and of course he had been very pleased with the
interview- which is soon to be released. He was contacting me to let me
know that he had seen RVD TV DVD vol 1 and...well, let’s use his words.
“I saw a copy of your RVD TV DVD, to be honest, it made me feel like I
wasted my interview with you. I saw a real depth in your production,
talking about laws and beliefs and it was cool. Interesting to somebody
like myself as its different from the RVD that was on my television
screen for so long.”
This letter reminds me of what I felt like when I was planning RVD TV
for the first time, wanting to get away from the WWE version of RVD,
who you might catch singing “You are the wind beneath my ring” to Steve
Austin, alongside with the rest of the Alliance, while pretending I
look up to him as a leader. I remember hating the backstage skit when
Kane poured gasoline on me and tried to light me on fire. That was the
night Bruce Prichard told me that my acting was the shits. I never
believed the shit they wanted me to say. I never got behind it. I did
not enjoy being the man of two words- shall I say them? “Whatever”, and
“cool”. There you go. That’s what happens when someone else is in
control of your image-someone that has no idea who the fuck you are.
Trust me when I say this, none of those suits in the office can even
imagine me going up on stage and doing comedy, let alone starring in my
own movie. They don’t know the real me, as seen on RVD TV. Friends who
have seen the comedy episode say watching it is just like hanging out
with me. I’m the real deal. What you see is what you get.
Way back when I had my knee surgery, and then time off from the ring,
I was signing autographs in England at a convention that also featured
Matt Hardy. We were both approached by a guy named Andrew Wright, who
was there working on a documentary with Warrior-who was also there.
Andrew wondered if Matt and/or I would be interested in doing some
filming projects and he suggested to me that the camera could just
follow me around, filming me living my life. Matt was open to talking
about it, which he did. I knew from the start that this was not
something I was interested in. What was my life outside the ring? When
I was home-which wasn’t often enough-I was sleeping. Each time I left
my house was harder and harder, with the dread of the stress of the
next few days- or several thousand miles- however you want to put it-
giving me an undesired burn in my chest.
I was flying, driving, flying, driving and trying to balance taking
care of my health with taking care of things at home-all the while,
always taking time out to have my photo taken with some passionate fans
that spot me at the airport and want to tell me I look tired. Why in
the hell would I want to showcase this? I didn’t like my life routine.
I didn’t want to make anyone else suffer through it too. That’s a big
reason I didn’t bring SVD with me to every single town. Burnt out and
bordering fatigue, I continued as the professional I am, while feeling
the challenge..
As the end of my contract approached, I remember how the littlest
feedback about my individual views and perspectives would mean so much
to me. I had people telling me that I inspired them to grow as people,
helped their relationships and gave them a better perspective on life.
I remember thinking that if these people got that kind of energy from
reading my blogs or catching a random interview somewhere, I could
really deliver a well received message if I had my own outlet. I wanted
to be known for being me. Hate me for who I am but don’t love me for
who I am not, right? You get it. I needed to take a break from the
ever consuming schedule of my job, and I needed to learn more about me.
I needed to ponder questions about life, and refocus my energies toward
advancing the quality of time on Earth and, as it turns out, helping
others to do the same.
I had a bunch of ideas for an episodic project I called RVD TV. I
started developing it with Andrew, who was already working with Matt.
The first few episodes were filmed by Andrew and edited by his partner
Michael Spatola.
After many, many changes and improvements, and me taking over
completely, RVD TV is nearing it’s 100th episode. A new episode a week
sounded like a challenge at first, and sometimes proved to be, but it
was just right. Sometimes I shoot my regular life at home, working out
in my gym or showing off on the diving board. Sometimes it gets me out
of the house, to a movie premier or to Venice Beach. I had my camera on
during all the stages of production of Wrong Side of Town. I always
take the camera on my over seas wrestling tours. There is a LOT of
content there and I ‘ll keep adding to it.
Until this week, RVD TV was available through a paid membership, so
most of you have only seen the 2 or 3 minute videos on youtube, or
maybe you’ve seen the DVD. The production costs have been covered by
the members, and will soon be covered by advertisers. In the mean time,
it’s on me.
Go to robvandam.com and check out an episode or two or thirty, and if
you’re a wrestling fan, look out for the following personalities who’ve
contributed to RVD TV:
Batista, Eric Bischoff, Charmelle, Rene Dupre, Mic Foley, Godfather,
Brett Hart, John Heidenreich, Christy Hemme, Scotty 2 Hotty, Hurricane
Helms, Samoa Joe, Kid Kash, Honkey Tonk Man, Kid Kash, Chris Masters,
Justin Mccully, Joey Mercury, Trevor Murdoch, Rey Mysterio, Jim
Neidhart, Chris Nowinski, Harley Race, Raven, Sabu, Sean Staziak,
Booker T, Warrior, Doctor Death Steve Williams, X-Pac to name a few and
of course there’s the wrestlers from Ireland, Portugal, Japan, fuck-I
don’t know. I told you we have almost 100 episodes, didn’t I?
The episodes are full of larger-than-life celebrities with no scripts,
no contrived story lines and no added drama. Wrestlers, actors,
comedians, musical artists, extreme athletes and more...
all regular people.
There is no catch. You don't need a credit card. Go to robvandam.com as
often as you’d like and try to click on those ads while you’re there to
help us boost our numbers. I want to blow my web site up!
If you want some episode recommendations to start with:
I edited the last three episodes myself, so keep that in mind while
you’re checking out #88-Vandamsterdam, #87- X-Pac Games and #86-Telling
Lies and then go to the Rob Van Dam room in the forum and post me your
feedback.
If you want to see the world, I suggest #70-Tour de France, #42- Mission in Tokyo or #38-Portugal.
Want to check out some workouts? Go to episodes # 80 5 Star Arms, #39 5
Star Squats or maybe episode #49 if you want a see a wrestling workout
with UFC fighter Justin McCully.
I think RVD TV is fine for kids of all ages as long as they realize that adults use adult language.
Am I a good role model?
I’ll let you decide.
Get to know me at robvandam.com.
Check out our newest episode #89 “WSW in Portugal” this week-from my recent
trip, and come back often for continuing upgrades to our web site
including updated video blogs and soon...a chat room!

Greetings everyone. I hope you are all feeling the best you’ve ever felt in your entire life- today! Is that too much to ask?
What's up?
Tune in to RVD RADIO’s BIGGEST SHOW EVER! Wednesday, Oct 7th we will have our first fan appreciation day...or as I call it-"the Sell Out Show”! Go to robvandam.com to RVD RADIO between 6-8pm pst, or call (347)308-8754 to talk or to listen in. If you’ve ever thought of calling in but haven’t had the courage, this is your night. Estimated caller waiting time...3 minutes! Ahem, you know, after you let me monologue at the beginning. Once we start taking calls we will not be telling long stories. We will not be passing 2 hours of air time with long conversations with celebrity friends. We want to hear from you. I'm going to do my best to keep the phone lines clear for you.
The topic...hypothetically... would you rather see RVD go to WWE, or TNA?
Feedback I get personally on the street is about 50/50, which I find surprising. Here's your chance to give me your thoughts. Go to robvandam.com anytime between now and Wednesday night and vote on WWE or TNA in our new free forum. Which brings me to my next topic.
We are very excited(stoked for the west coasters) to announce a new added feature to the web site...a FREE RVD TV limited membership! Sign up now- no credit card needed- fuck the credit card-and immediately connect with other fans on our forums, post questions in the RVD Room for me to answer via video blog, and enjoy-for the first time ever- 4 full length free episodes that we picked out for you. For the sake of name dropping, you just might see the likes of the lovely Christy Hemme, Hurricane Helms, Shelly Martinez, Daniel Logan(cough-Bobba Fett), Chris Nowinski, and other familiar faces on these episodes. This is the start of something bigger.
Check out our episodes and then leave me a message in the forums. This new feature is made possible by our advertisements, so please visit our sponsors so we can keep growing. The RVD Room will be the best way to get a message to me. I’ll still check my myspace site but I seem to spend most of the time there taking off all those silly “Do you like me?” comments. We’ll be adding more and more interactive features to robvandam.com to generate some more traffic flow, cause we got HUGE pans.
Last weekend, I spoke at the NORML conference in San Francisco about cannabis and athletics. Speaking and answering questions along with me were football hero Mark Stepnoski and MMA fighter Toby Grear. It was a good event with a lot of important information being spread around. I look forward to the next event. We have a lot of reason to feel optimistic about the future. We all do.
So, how about showing some responsibility , tokahs? Since the new marijuana decriminalization bill was passed by the voters of Massachusetts last year, criminal penalties for possessing an ounce or less have been eliminated, and offenders are looking at a hundred dollar fine. Many cops and other folks are frustrated at all the loop holes this leaves in the law-such as -minors with alcohol can be arrested but not minors with pot. What’s worse, is that the tokahs( say it with a Boston accent) don’t have to show their identification to cops-that's weird-and their defiance of the law seems to leave law enforcement powerless to do anything about it. A Herald review found that an amazing 83 percent of 415 tokahs that were cited since January have simply refused to pay the $100 fine. Does this sound crazy to you? Instead of going to jail, you pay a fine like a parking ticket. Shouldn’t you be grateful and try to set standards of responsibility? Maybe trying to encourage these progressive measures towards freedom? Decriminalization sounds like a good thing on the surface, but it seems to be a pacifier to appear like progress, while it’s design causes problems in society that will be used as evidence in arguments to maintain prohibition. I was reading an interview from Rich Lee of Oaksterdam, San Francisco where he talks about during alcohol prohibition, alcohol was decriminalized. The situation of being able to possess but not produce or transport or sell created enormous violence and crime and profits for gangstas like Al Capone and Tommy Gunn. Go figure.
Coming up later in the week on RVD TV...check me out-sporting my new gold! I’ll have some pretty awesome footage up of me and my shiny WSW World Championship on our second episode to be filmed in Portugal! You already know how cool I look wearing championship bling!
Friend, mentor and hero Jack Herer-the Hemperor- has been in a coma for several weeks now in Portland, Oregan, after suffering a heart attack. I’m told he’s making progress so be optimistic and if you want to send Jack an email you can do so through his wife jeannieherer@yahoo.com
You’ve obviously caught a blurb about Roman Polanski’s recent arrest, right? It is amazing how some of Hollywood stands behind this guy! I feel really bad for him that his wife was murdered by the sick- fuck followers of Charles Mansion in 69. Real bad. Still, at 43 years of age, he drugged a 13 year old girl, fucked her in every hole, and fled the country to escape prosecution(and to shack up with a 15 year old Nastassja Kinski!). What’s to forgive? I don’t care if he made the world’s top ten best movies of ALL TIME! He still has to be held accountable for his actions. Anybody disagree? Does it matter that it happened 30 years ago? There seems to be an amazing contrast of opinions here. Share your thoughts.
By the way, Helter Skelterist Susan Atkins-who helped kill Roman’s wife Sharon Tate by stabbing her 16 times, died of brain cancer last week at 61. What a nutty bitch!
I know you heard about David Letterman’s shocking sex scandal. He had sex with women that he works with! Oh my God! Who gives a fuck, right? The guy with that information tried to blackmail Dave-who said Fuck it. Yes I did. Amazingly, this has made world wide headline news and what’s funny is all the speculation from the media. These creatures are entertaining to observe. They wonder “Was there any forced action?” and “Was there inappropriate harassment” and then they have the experts on the air to explain what constitutes sexual harassment within the work environment. How about, just maybe, these girls wanted to chin-slap his balls because he’s David fucking Letterman? Isn’t that likely? I know. Gross. I'm just saying.
You guys catch Ray Park on Heroes? He's doing his thing, kicking ass. Very fitting after playing the awesome parts of Darth Maul, Toad in the X-Men, The Headless Horseman and Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe! He has taken part in some of the coolest projects! I'm glad Heroes... along with Dexter and Californication... and Nitro Circus and Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory are back because sadly, many shows have departed for the season. Entourage appears to be preparing for a series wrap. Hope not.
If you want to try something really nasty with me, I'm drinking a shot of apple cider vinegar every morning because I've been told convincingly that in 2 weeks it 'll makes arthritic and joint pain go away. It's day 7 and so far all I can say is that this stuff does NOT taste good. Anyone ever tried this? SVD's been surfing a lot. We both tried it together, in Hawaii, and had two different experiences. She loved it and I hated it. I planned on liking it but I found it to be way too much work for very little pay off. The paddling and the paddling and the paddling with the salt water smacking me in the face and burning my eyes was not worth standing on the board for a few seconds. If I could turn 360's and jump the waves I'm sure it'd be a blast but that's not going to happen. I'm glad that she enjoys it so much. Surfer chicks. Holla.
Here's some food for thought. I want to talk about this on next week's RVD RADIO show. While listening to a friend complain that cameras record you everywhere and there's no privacy any more, I stated what a different view I have. I don't want to be filmed while I'm in the bathroom or anything like that, but I'm glad there are so many cameras. I love that bad people get caught al the time taking advantage of, hurting or killing people on video camera. If you feel like you can't get away with anything anymore, what are you doing? Is the problem really that you don't like yourself enough to show everyone who you are or is there more to it? If my wife came up missing and police could show me everywhere she'd been in the last four hours, that's golden! You may be surprised to get this point of view from me since I'm always fighting for freedom, but there are a lot of A-holes that you need to be protected from. Plus it's fun when celebrities lose their private sex tapes.
All right. Let's recap. ROBVANDAM.com for free RVDTV, RVD RADIO, and posting comments or questions to me. Cast your vote while you're there, and start spreading the word about our new features. What else...oh...have a great day!

Fuck-there’s a lot to talk about when I take this long in between writing blogs. Let’s get on with it!
I just finished up a tour of American Wrestling Rampage in Ireland. 6 matches in 6 days and I came out of it a bit banged up. Not from my matches, but from the extreme bus competitions! Finding ways to kill time while touring on the bus, we came up with a great idea of timing ourselves Spidermaning it to the front if the bus and back walking only on the arm rests of the chairs. That led to sideways crab walk races on the arms, which led to jumps from seat back to seat back using only hands and not touching the floor, etc. Most of my punishment came from taking a Razor Scooter down a parking lot ramp at the arena. Also playing was Sabu, Sean Maxer, SVD!, and X-Pac-hence the name X-Pac Games 2009! As you’ve already guessed by now, the RVD TV video camera was there, so watch for some awesome silliness soon. Also look for other guys to appear from the tour such as Renee Dupree, Scoty 2 Hotty, M Dog, Kid Kash, and some familiar Irish Wrestlers from previous RVD TV episodes. www.awrwrestling.com
One highlite from the tour was when we hit McDonald’s late one night after a show. Only the drive-through was open and the bus was too big to fit through. I taked the manager into letting us walk through and it was quite a site. A lot of photographs were taken of the line of wrestlers, some of us still in our wrestling gear, walking through with drunk Irish fans trying to get in on the pictures! What? We eat McDonald’s...when we’re in other countries. The crowd’s in Ireland were great, bringing lots of energy to some really good shows. AWR is on the grow. I’ll be returning to tour in November.
As long as you’re laughing, I’ll go ahead and tell you about my recent shower bump. Remember when I fell last year in Portugal and destroyed the hotel room? This time I was stepping into the shower-covered in Nair! I slipped, the shower curtain did not come down this time but somehow I Vandaminated the toilet when I went down. Water poured through the broken porcelin like a fire hyderant and I had to deal with rinsing this chemical off my body before I could do anything and then I realized I could turn the water off on the floor by the toilet, so I did. Within seconds, the hotel maintenance guy was pounding on my door as I tried to rinse the rest of the Nair off and when I did open the door he told me that the room below was completely flooded. Good times.
Next week I will be returning to Portugal for WSW ( www.worldstarsofwrestling.com) on the 11th & the 12th. I’ll give you the report afterwards, but I can tell you now I’m going after the WSW World Championship! This is the wrestling group that pulled me out of my I-don’t-wanna-wrestle-funk last year after leaving WWE in 2007. SVD and I are looking forward to the trip.
If you saw us filming down at Venice Beach before I fled the country, that’s another one of those projects that I can’t really talk about right now...but let’s just say it is HUGE!
With a week off inbetween gigs and an option to fly across the world to be home for a few days of jet lag, only to fly back to Europe, we did what anybody in our positions would do. AMSTERDAM!!! I had really HIGH expectations for this city and now that we are here, after living in California and all...OMG! I was not let down! This place is AWESOME! With thousands of people walking the sidewalks, almost like New York City, it's such a peaceful place! It's like no one told these people they're supposed to drink until they're yelling at each other and hate on one another for blazing or doing drugs or being gay or different in any way or litter all over the beautiful ground! I am amazed! Get this- you can’t smoke cigarettes anywhere indoors here, like California and many other U.S. cities, but some places are ok with you smoking marijuana, because it’s non-toxic! OK, these are my people! Not a day goes by where I am not completely amazed and disappointed in human policy because everyone, everywhere feels it is ok to lite up the cancer-sticks when they are standing outside( or more likely, in the doorway so smoke goes inside-thanks guys), or walking in the fresh air( yeah-right) or even talking to me face to face!!! They think nothing of it at all and are suprised when I don’t want to breath in the poison that makes my lungs lock up! And these people look down at the natural, non-toxic, non-death-causing weed like it is, in-fact ,the poison! That’s what we have been brainwashed into believing-as long as we don’t research it. Since I’ve been studying the herb for many years, I am always suprised at the ignorance and I’ll be damned if I haven’t found a city that agrees with the truth! All the marijuana friendly coffee shops and bars have special rooms for you cigarette smokers to chill in, so the rest of us -who are into healing- can go about peacefully. Nice! I’m not hating on you cigarette smokers, just please quit trying to kill me. It’s always been my experience that when a doctor asks if you smoke-during regular physical exams- he or she’s only concerned with tobacco. It seems here that hotel rooms and some of the other places that designate “no smoking” don’t mind the cannabis, which makes sense to me. Cannabis smoke does not stain the drapes, carpets, air, or your lungs and your other insides like tobacco. And we lock people up in prison for this why? Money. Money, money, money. It’s time to regulate and control our largest cash crop and seriously fuck the dirty, underground drug dealing market!
One more thing, before I move on. In a conversation last week in Ireland, I realized that-in a hypothetical situation- if some young children saw me smoking something in a parking lot, I would be more ashamed if they thought it was tobacco than cannabis. Healthy kids should NOT smoke anything, but they should know that cannabis use did not hurt the abilities of some world champions of wrestling or Olympics or even the last 3 Presidents of the United States. They should also know that statistically, 1 out of 2 tobacco smokers will die prematurely from smoking tobacco. If I didn’t tell them that, what kind of a role model would I be?
In a very rare occurence, you can watch RVD wrestle live! In the United States! As long as you can get to California. Oh yeah, I have to go back to California. I really like it here in Amsterdam. What was I talking about? Oh, right! Janurary 31 I will be kicking ass as only RVD can do, in and probably out of the ring at the HUGE Wrestle Reunion LA!www.wrestlereunion.com Besides having the best match of the night, I will also be at the autograph signing that day so try to look your best when we get our picture taken together, because I am very photogenic! More info on this night will come as I get it.
With California in the hole by what- 26 BILLION dollars? Governator Arnold doesn’t seem to think the 2 billion dollar credit from regulating and taxing cannabis would be worth it. He’s got an even better idea-he’ll sign autographs! That’s right! You can buy a state owned car with Arnold’s signature and help our state earn dozens, if not hundreds of dollars! That’s way better...on Bizarro World!
All over the news while we were in Ireland, was one of the biggest assholes I’ve ever heard of. This guy-Phillip Garrido- kidnapped an 11-year old girl, and kept her prisoner for 18 years! His wife was in on it-even helped grab the girl! The victim had 2 children with him, her first at age 14. I’m guessing you’ve been hearing about this monster. Now the girl has been rescued, but of course she’s 29 and has the mentality of an 11 year old because she was isolated without education or exposure to the world. No doubt family had given up hope for seeing her alive again years ago, and they recieved good news! The step-father was probably as happy as anybody because he originally got the blame for the missing girl. Now, how can we possibly punish this Garrido asshole enough?
On our last episode of RVD RADIO, we talked about taking life. Too often I see innocent people being murdered with the intention of making the killer’s life more convenient. Even if the victim was a cheating or exgirlfriend, that still doesn’t give anyone the right to take away their life. The best part, is that the killer will get caught and their life will be fucked up anyway. I have debated the issue of capital punishment before- what’s right for society vs. Moral values- and sometimes feel like killing is killing, even if authority tells you too. Take this asshole Garrido though...I wish I could beat him to death myself. No shit, I would probably pay for the rights. He was already on parole for previous kidnapping and raping when he snatched poor 11 year-old Jaycee. Think that system works? He and his wife deserve a slow, painful death, but I guess whatever’s considered a humane way to kill will do fine. I wish Jaycee Dugard and her family all the best.
And you too motherfuckers!
RVD RADIO is on break until September 16th. Judging from feedback I get on the streets, a lot of people are enjoying the episodes. That’s very inspiring, knowing the message is being received! A lot of new listeners are always finding RVD RADIO one way or another. Remember the archives are always available at blogtalkradio.com/rvdradio.
Did you guys happen to see the naked statue of Angelina Jolie breast feeding two babies on the news? I guess it’s not porn if there’s breast feeding involved, even though they chose a sex symbol to recreate. It’s caused quite a lot of controversy. I always wonder where the lines are drawn on the issue of popping your boobies out to feed your kids in public.
I’ll talk to you real soon and let you know how the trip went. Plus-I have a TON of exciting shit to get back to, and I’m not just talking about the new fall line-up. But yeah, that too! As always, I'll try to not wait as long next time... Catcha soon,
RVD

Happy today everybody! Hope you had a good 4th. How’d we put it last year? Air pollution followed by ground pollution? Don’t get me wrong. I love hamburgers, but one thing I really took note of this year is that fireworks regulations are among the chosen acceptable laws to break. Even though the pretty explosives are illegal in certain towns, people generally seem to think it’s ok to look the other way after lighting the wick. Am I wrong? If this applies to any of you I hope you weren’t among the Michael Phelps prosecutors that said “He broke the law. He should be punished. Bottom line.”
When we make efforts to change laws, its because we don’t want to have to break them, and be criminals. Even if you tell us which ones you feel are ok to break.
Did you guys hear that Michael Jackson passed away? I covered it on RVD TV and RVD RADIO, because it’s pretty fucking huge. Even when people say they’ve had enough, they start talking about him. It’s hard not to. While out filming some RVD TV, I happened to drive past the house and the star on the walk of fame. We were filming a Hollywood tour for comic book geeks but took time to talk about MJ for the camera. The topic on my mind was...didn’t the public hate this guy for the last several years? There seems to be a lot of split opinions on this one. I remember actors wanting Roman Polanski to be allowed to freely attend the Academies because they said the night was about the art and that’s what mattered, meanwhile he was wanted by the police for banging an underage girl. We don’t know what Michael was guilty of but I have read about much worse crimes being covered up by the studios to protect the images of their stars back in the day. I’m talking about murders, swept under the carpet! By the way, do you think James Dean or the great heart throb Rudolph Valentino would have reached their immortal levels of stardom if people knew they were gay? Trust me, it would have mattered back then. Is it possible then, to separate the body from the spirit, and praise one while condemning the other?
Speaking of RVD TV, we’ve had a lot of new members sign up recently for our ridiculous summer savings sale YouTube - RVD MOTHERF*CKER! and there’s still time for you. Membership prices are knocked down to an all time low and Big Vision Entertainment will send you a free RVD TV DVD Vol 1 for signing up through July. Rob Van Dam RVDTV "Imitated often. Intimidated never!" We now have around 80 episodes in the archives and we keep putting a new one out every week.
While you’re checking out the web site, you’ll see on the front page that I put another wrestling singlet up for auction. Even though I have a lot of outfits, I always change my mind back and forth before I surrender one for promotion. I guess it’s the collector in me. I could have sworn this outfit was on an action figure but I don’t see it in my collection. I am missing several RVD action figures though, so take a look and let me know. RVD WRESTLING OUTFIT, T-SHIRT, DVD, FIGURE, BOOK &PHOTO By the way, you did notice that Jakks Pacific has put out three new RVD figures recently, right?
Speaking of collectibles, I will be at San Diego Comic Con later in the month. I told many people I wouldn’t be there, but now I’m telling you I am. And I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll be walking around getting my geek on and I’ll also be signing autographs at booth #5412 Thursday 7/23( from 11-4) and at the Wizards booth Friday and Saturday 7/24&25( 3:30-6:30). Comic-Con 2009 :: What's New Christie Hemme will be there too.
Sonya is doing great and is consistently amazing! Feeling fantastic and excited to be alive, she’s a great reminder for me to swallow my own positive medicine. We have been getting a lot of feedback from a very touching story on SVD, written by Kanai Andrews. If you somehow missed that story, read it here The Amazing Story of Mrs. RVD
It was a sad morning when we learned that Farah passed away. As SVD put it, this was an unfortunate opportunity to get the word out there more about the dangers of cancer, but it seemed to disappear within a few hours because of the Jackson action.
We have her specials on tivo and have been waiting for the right day to watch them, as we know they won’t be fun.
Did you guys catch RVD on MSNBC? Debating the former drug czar was an awesome opportunity, and just like you, I wish they gave me more time. RVD Discusses Marijuana On MSNBC I said at the end of the interview that his facts were lies, but I didn’t have the time to elaborate. I’ll start with the governments misclassification of marijuana as non-medicinal. See, after California voted in favor of medicinal marijuana in 1996, the U.S. government decided to take a look at marijuana and they asked the Institution of Medicine in Massachusetts to research it. In 1999, when the DEA read the IOM’s report they were disappointed to read "The accumulated data indicate a potential therapeutic value for cannabinoid drugs, particularly for symptoms such as pain relief, control of nausea and vomiting, and appetite stimulation."
With General McCaffrey in charge, they ignored this report and kept pot classified as a schedule one substance so that doctors can not prescribe it as medicine. It remains there today. People, I have unfortunately witnessed first-hand what a gift the herb can be for chemo therapy patients, so this is a lie.
Here’s what they do to get their facts, so you know.
Make it a mandatory law that children caught with marijuana have to go to treatment, then list marijuana as one of the most treatment-causing drugs on the streets. I’m just smartening you up to what General Barry McCaffrey already knows.
Here’s what Reagan’s boys did. Suffocate a bunch of monkeys with gas masks feeding them no oxygen, just pot smoke for several minutes, then test them for brain cell loss. Oh, you didn’t know? The IOM report also says that marijuana may possibly prevent brain cell damage but they ignored that too.
When Nixon made the Controlled Substance Act in 1970, he had marijuana temporarily categorized as a schedule one controlled substance while the National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Laws completed research on the plant. Care to guess what they found out? Pot was not dangerous to the user, was not addictive, would not lead to other drugs, did not make the user violent but instead pacified the user and weed clearly did not belong in the same chemical category as heroin. Nixon got this report in 1972 and threw it in the trash.
We did an RVD RADIO episode on marijuana and our economy recently, but due to technical errors, the very important show was not recorded and is not available for archives. Therefore, we’ll do it again. I want to do all I can to educate people on the truth, and we especially need to consider the true facts out here in California before my favorite state is foreclosed! State employees are receiving I-Owe-You’s instead of checks! For real! This Wednesday at blogtalkradio.com/rvdradio, from 9-11pm e.s.t. we’ll discuss this controversial but necessary topic. I have never heard a good reason to prohibit this weed that can not cause lethal reaction. If anyone wants to debate me on this issue please call in and you will get the respect that you bring.

Mitsuhara Misawa was the most popular wrestler in Japan while I was there wrestling for Giant Baba from 1993-97. He and Kenta Kobashi always got the most ribbons thrown into the ring before their matches. People would go nuts cheering “Misawa-Misawa!” He would humble himself to say hello to us Americans, even us green boys-unlike Kawada and the others. He seemed to genuinely appreciate us and when he was in the ring-I don’t care how over or experienced he was, he would bump for the photographers. Eery week you could count on action shots in the magazines of all these guys landing on their heads, taking hard falls to the floor, everything. If I’m not mistaken, Misawa wrestled full time his whole 30 year career. That’s why it’s so surprising to learn that even he, Tiger Mask the second, could die from one bad fall.
R.I.P.
Isn’t it funny how we imagine heaven as this gathering place where everyone who has died can hang out? Like maybe Misawa is up there with Farah, Ed McMahon and the infomercial guy having a drink. I wonder if that room is only for the recently deceased and then they have to go someplace else. It’s our imagination, I guess we make the rules anyway we want.
Hey does God really get upset when I don’t forward those chain emails?
I will be going to Ireland at the end of August, and I may be going to Egypt and possibly to Portugal earlier in the month. Now, I await the dates for filming Wrong Side of Town 2. I will keep you posted, as always.
I leave you now with this departing thought. It may be comfortable to trust that the government will just find some way to pay off the debts and you’ll be fine. Just have enough faith and you won’t have to take an active roll in protecting your rights, it’ll all be taken care of for you.
In the mean time, while you’re too conservative to consider the unimaginable, take notice that teachers can still fuck children, cops can kill their wives, men who join the army can still be assholes-even if they travel over seas, priests can be gay and your government might have other interests at heart besides human welfare. If you’re going to sleepwalk through life, sleep with one eye open.
Let’s do a video blog soon-

Happy Memorial Day everyone. Did you think about dead people while you ate your hot dogs at the beach? Regular RVD blog readers all know how mushy I get around the holidays, so newbies beware and try not to be offended. No disrespect meant here to any fine soldiers who are currently serving or have served in the past. In fact, I can address this to you personally. Was everyone in your platoon ...or lets just say “group”...where they all outstanding people or were some of them ass holes? Ouch! I know it hurts when RVD asks you to open your mind this far- just like if I say that I don’t know if a dude named Jesus was born from a virgin and died and came back to life, OUCH! As we find out more and more if we keep up with current events, sometimes teachers are ass holes, sometimes cops are assholes, and I have to believe that some of the fallen soldiers were ass holes too. I understand that because of them fighting I’m able to live the American dream, yeah-I get that. But c’mon, I remember when I was graduating high school and the U.S.Army was trying to snatch us up like child beauty pageants in a prison. They weren’t specifically looking for the most honorable kids, in fact they seemed to be geared towards the troubled youth with poor looking futures. I knew a kid that couldn’t wait to graduate and join the army so he could shoot people with his gun...in the name of our country! Aren’t some of these people just murderers at that point? I had a few choices, just like all seniors in school. Did I want to go to college or trade school? Did I already have a job lined up with a family business? Or did I want to join the army to learn how to make my bed, get money to buy a house, and be worshipped as a hero? Obviously my trade school was wrestling school and I put it to good use, but would I have been a better person if I chose to kill or be killed in the name of my government? Of course not. To be a hero, you still need to be a good person. I know that many soldiers are heros, and they rock! The ones that are raping the females, abusing the name of the United States and just doing what they have to do to get by can still be considered ass holes. If you think that makes me somehow unpatriotic, I hope you have to pass an IQ test before they hand you a gun.
I play an ex-Navy Seal in the action movie I just completed “Wrong Side of Town”. Look for tons of inaccuracies if you’re a Seal because I am about as far from military as I am from being a ballroom dancer. Besides that I had a blast filming, and did all my own stunts except for a few moments on the motorcycle. By the end of the movie, I had the bike down anyway so I hope to do ALL my own shit in part two, which we are planning on filming this summer. I’ve heard that Lion’s Gate will have this movie available for you to see in November, but I will keep you updated as I learn more. Special thanks to Ja Rule, Omarion, Batista, Viscera, Justin McCully, Stormy Daniels and all the great actors for helping to make my movie a kick ass flick!!! Go to movieset..com and keep up with regular updates on Wrong Side of Town including behind the scenes interviews at Wrong Side Of Town - MovieSet Try not to get that confused with Wrongsideoftown.com, we’re not making movies about innocent babes getting gang banged, that’s something TOATALLY different.
Have you heard about the crazy lady-I mean, religious lady-who disappeared with her cancer stricken son to escape the court ordered chemotherapy treatments? I was surprised that the court could order that against her wishes to pursue non-traditional methods. Maybe it had something to do with the father pleading for his son’s safe return in time to save his life from Hodkins Lymphoma. Apparently, denying the boy treatments was considered neglect. The news kept stating that is was the boy’s decision as well as his mom’s, but the kid is 13 years old. That’s not old enough to give or not give consent.
Everyone out there who thinks drugs are bad, consider chemotherapy. It’s all about taking drugs. All you nicotine junkies that can’t wait to get your next fix, and are silly enough to think you’re not doing drugs because of government misclassification, this week’s RVD RADIO episode is for you. Separating the hype and fear from the truth about use versus abuse, something most sheeple don’t want to think about, I’ll be speaking with guests Roddy Piper, Justin McCully, Scott Schwartz( big dude from Oceans Eleven-not little dude from the Toy), Dr. Shawn Staziak, Sandman, Fonzie, SVD and others. That’s Wednesday the 27th from 6-8 pm p.s.t. (9-11 e.s.t.) at blogtalkradio.com/rvdradio
In the way of making lemon aide out of lemons, Sonya has become a very important member of the patient advisory board at City of Hope. In efforts to better the conditions for the patients, she has already closing a deal to raise $20,000 worth of funds!! Isn’t she fucking amazing? City of Hope will also be hosting a charity Golf Game with Booker T, as well as dinner with Booker T and Sharmell, as well as dinner with RVD and SVD. There’s not much time to promote this unfortunately, but details are at eBay Store - City of Hope: Celebrity Experiences, June 1st, Concert Tickets
I’m looking forward to networking at the Playboy Mansion’s 4th annual MPP party on June 4th. I don’t want my state to declare federal bankruptcy, so Californians need to pull their heads out of their asses and think for themselves. 2 Billion dollars in savings by legalizing the harmless plant. I will meet Tom Ammiano, the San Franscisco assemblyman who is trying to get A.B. 390 passed by the state. Arnie’s on board, and a recent poll of voters showed 56 percent in favor, so let’s do this.. Recently I got an email from a student asking who is right-me or the school that teaches them that one joint is worse than 5 cigarettes. Does your school teach math? What’s the difference between zero deaths ever, and half a million a year? That’s just for America, not the world. I am convinced that cigarette manufacturing is part of population control, I just haven’t figured out why so many people want to volunteer themselves to be statistics.
So, you digging my video blogs? I figure some of you probably have slow computers that aren’t too convenient to watch video on. That’s why I’m typing away right now, but I will continue to kick out my message to you via video, and I’ll try to make sure my hair isn’t sticking out on the side too!
That’s all you get for now. I have to get my sleep pattern back after 3 weeks of working night shifts. I’ll be vibing with you soon. In the mean time, will somebody please smack that smile off of Dickhead Drew Peterson’s face? Remember, you don’t have to think like me, but you do have to think.
RVD Motherfucker!

Hello everyone, and happy today! It is about time for an RVD blog, right? I realize I may take too long in between posts, but I start to write several blogs for weeks before I actually complete and post one, so that’s how it comes together. In an effort to stay better connected to you, and to keep up with technology, I’m giving in to several requests and starting a Twitter account. Sign up to follow what I’m doing at Twitter@therealRVD
Rob Van Dam (TherealRVD) on Twitter
I hope that each of you had a fantastic easter Sunday, but statistically speaking, that’s not likely. Hopefully you were in the percentage of happy holiday havers. What could be better than celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ by painting and hiding eggs and pretending a rabbit did it? Yay Easter! Where’s the drink and food?
We just got back from France, where I wrestled for the up and coming AWR. It was a good experience being back on the road, from wrestling nine matches to long bus rides between towns, finding gyms on the road and hoping to score good food when the bus stopped. A lot of the things that got to be monotonous before were very tolerable for me this time. It was second nature to me and I guess some of my burn-out has cooled off because for the first time I can remember while over- seas, I wasn’t anxiously counting the hours until my flight home came. Sonya and I stayed an extra day in Paris and had a great time. On RVD TV you can see footage from the trip and catch glimpses of Chris Masters, Sabu, Scotty 2 Hotty, Marty Janetty, Gangrel, Heidenreich, Renee Dupree and/or other AWR wrestlers. We were looking forward to seeing Test but unfortunately, he passed away two days before the trip.
I have no doubt that I would’ve had some kick ass matches with him that most likely would’ve produced black eyes for one or both of us.
One thing that’s worth mentioning-I’ve been asked a few times if Test’s passing put a dark cloud over the whole trip. We were bummed that we wouldn’t see him again, and all told Test stories to each other, but sadly, we are all used to this routine. After so many of us have died prematurely, it’s almost like we’re trained to handle this, and life goes on. We all took a look at the bus full of wrestlers, and have to admit to ourselves that there’s a decent chance that next time we all get together, we may be a smaller group still.
Over the years I’ve gone from being devastated by news of Louie Spicolli’s death, to asking “Who died this time?” when someone in the business asks “Have you heard?”
At 33 years old, Test accidentally ended his life, while my peers continue to push the envelope. Being away from a binding contract that kept me on the road, I often feel like a survivor that made it home from the war. That’s not meant to be insensitive to war vets that have experienced far worse than I have.
By the way, as long as we’re talking about it, my views have always differed from the military mentality. We all have friends or family in the services and we’re glad that they’re going to the desert instead of us. However, that doesn’t make them heroes in my mind. While they are brainwashed from the beginning into believing that getting shot by non-Americans is an honorable way to die, I think this sounds a bit like Kamikaze craziness. If you choose to be a gun fighter, you may get shot at. Is it ok that you want to kill non-American soldiers, because the U.S. government says it’s ok, or does that still make you a killer? Does it seem right to you that if you make it back home from the war, whether dead or alive, America is supposed to honor you unconditionally? Should it matter what kind of a person you are or should we all just worship you as a hero because you chose to risk your life to kill foreigners? I guess I never accepted the message that sacrificing my life to the political agendas of the current president equated to being a hero. Would God be pleased that I got my head blown off in the name of American beliefs? Or that I blew up a building that housed a family that felt different about God than I do? Who knows. I think the biggest difference in beliefs for me is that I don’t think that the dirt I stand on is worth dying for. I understand that these men ( or boys) do what they do so I can do what I do, protecting the American dream, but war is all about killing or dying while trying. I have had the pleasure of setting foot in many other countries, and I’d rather live in any one of them instead of dying in mine-even India, and they poop on the side of the road there.
While looking out the double decker bus window in Europe, we saw a lot of ancient castles and churches that were hundreds of years old. It made me think of just how long we’ve been killing each other over who’s right about God. It seems totally unnecessary from where RVD sits. Has anyone been able to prove that they were right about God anytime in their life? If so, I must’ve missed it. Thumpers, have a field day with that.
The official street date for RVD TV DVD Vol 1 is May 5th, 2009. Go to BIG VISION ENTERTAINMENT ‘s web site for ordering info. The sneak peek DVD is still exclusively available at robvandam.com.
Can you believe how common it is to hear of missing or found-dead children? Before we left town, the headline news went from the Caylee Anthony situation to Haleigh Cummings-both unimaginably horrible cases. Now that we’re back, we’re learning all about the monster that killed that sweet little 8 year-old girl, Sandra Cantu. I can’t even imagine how it would feel to want to hurt such an innocent, helpless child...and I have a hell of an imagination.
While we were in France, on the news was the sentencing in Austria of Joseph Fritzl- who imprisoned and raped his daughter in a hidden cell in his basement for 24 years!! He fathered seven children that were his own grandchildren!! You guys hear about this ass hole?
I made an offer last week on RVD RADIO that’s worth repeating. We were talking about pedophiles, that prey on innocent children and not only hurt them but maybe even kill them. I said that anyone in the listening audience that may be one of these monsters, and I’ll expand it to my blog reading audience, feel free to call in to my show any time. There’s not enough accessible advice for people like you and I’ll help you do the right thing, and kill yourself live on the air.
That’s www..blogtalkradio.com/rvdradio or (347) 308-8754 on Wednesdays.
Now that President Obama has given the green light on stem cell research, expect a lot of cures to be “discovered”. They know they can do it, they just have to make sure they can get paid for it.
Did you guys notice how the question of legalizing marijuana for economic reasons was snickered at and dismissed at Obama’s recent Q&A? It was the most voted on question, and yet everyone in view on camera laughed at it like it was a joke, even the president. We need money. That’s the only reason pot is prohibited anyway-to protect financial interests. It’s time to quit pouring that money out to the streets and put it where we can use it. Tonight at 10p.m. ( 7 p.s.t.), I’ll be on Geraldo at Large on Fox News to discuss this. 4/19/09
Besides disagreeing with the presidents feelings on legalizing marijuana, I like the guy. He’s a world leader, uniting several countries with a common feeling of trust. He visited over seas while we were there too, and welcomed France back to NATO for the first time in over 40 years. I still don’t care about his dog though, and am tired of hearing about it blown up on the news. What about you?
I haven’t been writing much about Wrong Side of Town- the action movie written to showcase RVD- because in typical Hollywood fashion, it has met delays that I don’t want to bore you with.. Having said that, I will be updating you from the set, providing I find the time as we are rolling into production next week. Obviously, we have much to talk about here.
I’m expecting to have a lot of fun filming this movie. I’ve always been a fan of action movies, specifically fight movies. That’s why it’s so cool to have participated in three martial arts movies and now to be starring in an RVD movie. That’s what we dream chasers do. I think that some people are wired to believe that the world is full of endless opportunities while others feel that the dream life isn’t meant for them. Some of us want it all and that drives us, while others are content to watch from the sidelines, living vicariously through others. Do you agree? If so, which are you?
I spoke with boy genius and brain researcher Chris Nowinski about the possibility that successful people are wired to think differently. I don’t know if that’s a fact, but I do have an opinion. I’ve had my share of use and abuse of what some call “vices”, but I’ve never felt like something was stronger than me. Since I don’t know what it’s like to feel like I want to quit something but can not because it is stronger than my mind, I can only assume that people use this as an excuse to give themselves a break. I only think I can. That’s seeing success. If I think I can not, that’s failure-not success.
Have a festive 4-20 everybody! If you need another holiday to add to your list, feel free to celebrate April 20th along with many of us enthusiasts. Tell the boss you need the day off. If for nothing else, my dad’s birthday! Yay! Food and drink...or whatever. Cough.
Ok, go join my Twitter account so I can hit you up from the limo on the way to the Geraldo show later on.
Twitter@therealRVD..
Have an awesome day.

Hello to all my free thinkers who wait patiently for me to get around to writing these blogs. It is that time again. In the near future, I think I may give video blogging a try. Anyways, I feel like writing so if you feel like reading...
What’s on the table? Wrong Side of Town has been post-poned until April. You know that if you listen to RVD RADIO. Listeners are privy to a lot of information and stories that non listeners don’t get. Last weeks episode was one of the most downloaded archives we’ve had so far, thanks to some incredibly funny stories that aired. Check us out live on Wednesdays. This week Brett Hart, Justin McCully, Sabu, Fonzie and others joined SVD and I to talk about the Death Penalty-which you can’t discuss without bringing up child predators, gun control and private prison incomes. That’s how we roll on RVD RADIO.
Also in April, RVD TV DVD Vol 1 hits the stores with lots of bonus unseen footage. More info on that coming soon. Medium Rob tells me its already on Best Buy’s web site, so that’s cool.
I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring in a couple weeks in France. With 9 matches on the tour, I’ll be wrestling along with the Masterpiece, Sabu, Scotty 2 Hotty, Test, Marty Janetty, Heidenreich, Gangriel and...here, just go to their web site and check it out www.awrwrestling.com/
Since we’ll be returning the 3rd of April,
I’ll have to miss Booker T’s huge Legends of Wrestling Fan Fest, but you don’t. Find out how you can meet Sting,Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe, Christie Hemme, well, there’s too many to name. Go to the web site! http://www.bookertlow.com/index.shtml
Does everyone want to beat the shit out of Chris Brown as much as I do? Rihanna’s going to lose a lot of fans if she takes this punk back. I’m sure he’s just as innocent as O.J.
As the boyfriend of the murdered Virginia Rappe once said about the accused Fatty Arbuckle- “This is what comes of taking vulgarians from the gutter and paying them enormous salaries and making idols of them.” Yeah, I quoted a piece of Hollywood history that probably no one will understand. What about it?
We all love Rihanna’s eyes and no one wants to see them black and blue. She needs to do the right thing and find another fella...ella...ella.
My favorite radio station in Los Angeles changed format from talk radio to...well, who cares? I’m not going to listen to it. You can get the podcast of Adam Corolla, but basically- there is no more talk radio in L.A. I guess if I liked basketball there’s AM radio, but I don’t. So far, we still have Love Lines so we can hear Dr. Drew tell kids that taking ecstasy can effect their orgasm, but gross! You mean I have to get Serious Radio now? I’ll look into it. I hope my friend Chuck Zito still has his show on.
I find good talk, whether it’s on the radio or on a Friends in High Places episode on RVD TV, to be stimulating to the brain. Maybe a new talk radio station will fill that slot in L.A. soon. They better. Fuckers.
Bob Backlund is appearing with Ric Flair and others to sign autographs and take photos at the end of the month. It’s coming quickly http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=34946
Dude, if you haven’t seen Nitro Circus- find it. It’s a very, very entertaining show. Travis Pastrana was the first extremist to backflip a motor cycle-you saw that footage-and now that he’s retired from competing( I think) he and his friends do the most amazing stunts. Hydro planing motor cycles across water, jumping from an airplane with no chute, flipping a fucking monster truck! It’s ten times better than the best stunts you liked from Jackass, but without the gay. C’mon, I’m just saying what we all know. If you and a group of your buddies all know exactly what each others butt holes look like, you might be gay. Anyway, I highly recommend Nitro Circus. These guys take harder bumps than wrestlers and always seem like they should’ve been majorly fucked up, but they get up and do it again! They don’t make you wait for long set ups, the show moves at a quick pace and they even have a crazy girl doing their stunts!!!
Have you guys noticed a slight slump in our economy? President Obama had sworn to quit wasting federal resources and he is coming through with his promises. Last week, he finally got around to looking at the medical marijuana policy and the new attorney general Eric Holder made the official announcement for the new American policy. Federal law complies with state law on the marijuana issue.
For everyone that is reading this and thinking “oh, big deal” I have some news for you, because I know you count on me doing the thinking for you sometimes. There is no fear of being harassed by the DEA if you have a doctor’s card in 13 states now. Marijuana dispensaries are a legitimate business, generating big tax revenues for the state. They are going to look at that, and then consider ideas like the bill Tom Ammiano from San Francisco is trying to get approved in Sacramento right now-legalizing the herb for everyone 21 and over. Most of us are too young to remember that ending alcohol prohibition got us out of the depression in the 30’s because people drank anyway and the profit went to the streets. How long will haters refuse to consider looking at the honest facts in favor or keeping America in the dark?
I, for one, will not let the lights go out. People like Kimberly Guilfoyle- who had the ignorance on my Geraldo appearance to suggest Michael Phelps should put down the weed and eat some carrots-think that even looking into the truths about the plant is a dirty thing to do. Is that what you think? Sounds like brain washing to me. By the way, does anybody believe that Miss Guilfoyle knows more about physical fitness than Michael Phelps? Or RVD for that matter? I would love a chance to debate her or any opposers on this issue. In years of researching, I have never came across one good reason for marijuana prohibition. I’m guessing that it won’t be very long before it’s not an issue.
By the way, coming from Battle Creek, I know a lot of people who count on money generated from Kellogg’s. That’s why taking a stance like they did by dropping their endorsement of Michael Phelps’s risks a lot of people’s wellness. I don’t wish those people any harm but I have decided to join the thousands out there who will not be purchasing Kellogg’s products in the name of moving forward. Kellogg’s was the only sponsor to want to make the statement that they made, which to me is a bad one. As I alway say, kids should not consume pot. Adults should not lie to kids about it or they won’t get or deserve trust.
Founded on lies, protected by lies, the plant that never killed anyone has been the number one distraction from important issues that need focus. After decades of the government denying the medicinal properties of cannabis, they now admit that it is medicine if the state claims it is, and that’s going to help so many people out. People like I saw wasting away up at the chemo infusion rooms at City of Hope because their policy on mj- when asked how to stimulate appetite or suppress nausea- was to not bring it up,but if someone else brought it up- like me, they told everyone that they should try it. That shit’s got to change. Think about those people, tired and weak from not eating, when you say “ I wish Rob would quit talking about weed.”
Go back to thinking that your taxes are all going to support the Octo-Mom and enjoy the dark, sheeple. Just don’t expect RVD’s blogs to not hurt your eyes a little.
Everyone else, enjoy your day. I’ll leave you with some wisdom spat out by a wise monkey recently that helped put things into perspective.
What you do for yourself, you take with you.
What you do for others, you leave behind.
RVD...making the world a better place!

Have you people been watching the news lately? There’s just so much to talk about!
Yes, I made big news when I returned to WWE for the Royal Rumble- and yes, I did look good- OK, OK, real good-but I let’s talk about what’s on the TV news lately. We survived the Peanut Butter scare (most of us), we witnessed Jessica Simpson getting brutalized for looking bigger, and now the big news is that Christian Bale lost his temper and yelled at someone using adult language. Ooh. Shocking. Are you guys getting pelted with t his over and over?
Here’s one thought provoking piece of news I saw the other day that caught my attention. I saw a married couple petting the clone of their dead dog. Crazy? Yeah, kinda. No, make that very crazy. They loved their pet. They want their pet to live forever. Ok. I get that, but what is that thing they’re petting? Does it have their dog’s memory? They said it had the personality, but was still a puppy- although it was rapidly approaching full growth at like 8 weeks. Any opinions out of you?
I don’t know if this is huge everywhere, or just here, but the lady with the octuplets is all over the tube here in California. She already had 6 kids, then received 8 embryos via vitro fertilization, resulting in 8 m ore babies. Obviously, this lady feels that it is her destiny to have many children. Sonya’s great aunt had 13 kids. It used to be popular back in the day of righteous morality so why is everyone so upset over this lady’s situation? She said she’s never accepted welfare, and that God will provide what she and the family needs. I live by that same faith, knowing that my glass will be full when I need it to be. Are we trying to apply New World Order ethics, controlling the Earth’s population and perhaps even deciding who should be allowed to live? Is the gift of life ours to control? Exercise your right to have an opinion by calling this lady crazy because she made a decision that you would not have, but is it your business to decide she’s committed a crime against society? My wife of over 10 years and I have chosen not to bring children into this world. Are we criminals as well because we have different feelings than you do?
Even if you haven’t been watching the news, you’ve almost had to have heard the controversy surrounding Michael Phelps. Here’s the deal. Michael proved himself to be one of the greatest athletes in the world at the 2008 Olympics. Winning 8 gold medals solidified Michael’s position as THE American hero. His unmatchable credentials are his reward for his hard work, and his success makes him a celebrity role model for life.
That is why so many people are going nuts over a photograph that surfaced, showing Michael-appearing to be taking a rip from a water bong. Ok. Let’s not ignore the fact that
marijuana prohibition always has been and still is based on lies, and has no moral value. Here’s a quick recap for you regular, free-thinking blog readers and some education for the newbies. In 1937, based on testimonies that marijuana caused promiscuity, violence, and eventually inevitable insanity, the harmless plant was outlawed, making room for huge profits from the newly reinstated sales of alcohol.
Today, the Federal Government uses lies that even they couldn’t believe, to continue raking in profits by making criminals out of good peop le. I know you aren’t going to want to accept this as fact, so please look up the following ridiculous current bull shit:
Listed as a schedule 1 controlled substance ( meaning most dangerous with no medicinal value) is marijuana, alongside of heroin and acid. Listed as a schedule 2 controlled substance ( you guessed it- less dangerous and more medicinal) is the very popular meth and cocaine. Does anybody believe that meth is safer than pot? If that’s what we’re teaching our country, it’s time some attention was put on this. Thank you Michael. In fact, that’s the exact bullshit that I was fed in school in the eighties. Look up all your favorite safer-than-pot drugs here, and party as you will- as long as the government can profit from your choice of substances... DEA - Controlled Substance Schedules Disclaimer.
Even if you ignore the fact that the Feds have a program where they supply patients with medical marijuana, even if you want to ignore that hospitals profit from prescribing Marinol ( a synthetic form of THC- the active ingredient in marijuana), and even if you want to ignore that we have 13 states ( 25% of the country’s population) where the laws back the doctor’s recommendations for medicinal use, you can’t tell me that there is no medicinal value in cannabis because I witnessed the quality of life it helped provide for my wife while she suffered through 6 months of chemo-therapy. You can’t tell me that, and neither can the government-and if I had my way, they couldn’t tell you that bullshit either.
Although President Obama has vowed to quit wasting our resources on arresting patients, he has not appointed his new DEA yet. In the mean time, Bush’s cronies are still in office, taking advantage of this transitionary period to bust five dispensaries here i n Cali over the last several days. Step on it, Obama. People are suffering. Forgetting the medicinal argument and sticking to the subject of recreational marijuana use, our country spends over 7 billion dollars annually to arrest over 700,000 people because they choose to use the organic weed.
I’m glad that I have a position to reach a lot of you to share the truth. That brings me back to Phelps. He has a chance to educate people on the truth. Although the photo doesn’t prove any illegal substance was present, let’s assume the worse, because he’s not ducking it. Every head shop in every town I’ve ever been in refers to them as water pipes or tobacco pipes, now all of a sudden the news reporters say it’s a marijuana pipe in the photo. Whatever. Being such an advocate for freedom and truth, I also have a strong belief that kids should stay away from marijuana. We should tell them the truth- that their developing brains are like wet cement and playing with it before it’s developed is a bad idea. What we should not do, is tell them it’s a fucking drug like heroin.20If Michael Phelps was busted injecting heroin, people would have every right to go nuts over it. In the current situation, many seem to ignore the difference, just like the government wants us to. “ He broke the law.” “He was caught doing drugs.” He was ingesting marijuana-allegedly- which close to 50% of Americans try at least once.
If Kellogg’s wants to drop their endorsement because he’s inconsistent with their image, fine. That’s their choice, as a business. It’s also a business choice for nearly ALL sporting events to promote big alcohol company sponsors. I guess that’s consistent with their image.
I hope Michael doesn’t sell out and start doing public service announcements about how “dangerous” and “potentially deadly” his reckless actions were. It costed millions. I’m sure he’s sorry he got busted. Here’s what I’d like to see...
How about we stop ignoring the fact that World Champion athletes who take their health extremely seriously sometimes choose to use marijuana? Why are we ignoring the message there?
I could go on and on here, but I think I’ll reach more people with Fox News. Set your recorders to catch RVD on “Geraldo at Large” tonight at 10:00 pm e.s.t. ( 2-6-09 ).
Besides the distractions of the news, I have my focus mostly on preparing for the action movie “Wrong Side of Town”, which begins filming almost immediately. I’ll keep you posted from the set on RVD TV, which you better check out if you haven’t yet.

Let’s see, what do I have to talk about this week?
Oh right- there’s my kick-ass appearance at the Royal Rumble! YouTube - WWE - Rob Van Dam RVD Returns - Royal Rumble 2009 Check it out unless it's taken down before you get a chance. This came together at the last minute and worked out well for everyone, you included!
Besides the awesome RVD kicks flying everywhere, it was cool seeing everyone back stage. Yes- everyone. I also enjoyed knowing that these guys were driving on to Cleveland while I was flying back to Cali!
In a really therapeutic way, Sonya got a lot of energy from seeing everyone, and everyone seeing her. She’s amazing, and we know that she has inspired many of you, and myself also.
In Sonya’s first-ever blog, she’d like to thank everyone for all their personal efforts to participate in her healing.
Hi Everybody!
I know this is long overdue so please forgive me, as you can imagine I’ve had a lot on my plate. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that said a prayer for me, lit a candle at mass, held me close in your hearts and thoughts, sent me an email, or a card. I read them all! Many of them more than once. I want to thank all of you that shared your stories of hope and survival from this vicious disease. Thank you to those of you that sent gifts, they were all so thoughtful and kind. I love my plush animals filled with homegrown lavender, the plants and flowers, my mega gift basket stuffed full of amazing organic products, and my knitted with love lavender scarf. These are only some of the cool things you all sent. I can’t say thank you enough.
I’ve now finished chemo! YAY! My new mission in life is to enjoy every second of it cancer free. For those of you that have cancer in your family please get regular check ups, early detection is key. If you are due for a colonoscopy and you are scared, take it from someone that must get one every year, the prep is the worst part. Know your body and wear sunscreen! Most importantly, when life rains on you jump in the puddles and splash. Don’t wait until something like cancer comes along to illuminate your rainbows.
Much love and good health,
Sonya “SVD” Van Dam
What else? Oh, did we talk about the movie? Next on my list of projects to attack is an action packed display of coolness called Wrong Side of Town. I’ve been in 3 martial arts movies so far-name them with me....Super Fights, Blood Moon and Black Mask 2, but this movie is starring RVD! Huge difference there! I should be able to handle it, seeing as how I’m an action hero in real life. More info on this forthcoming. I’m looking forward to filming RVD TV on the set for a few weeks to give you watchers the real back stage inside scoop! Filming starts in early February so I’m “prepping” for it now. Because of that...
RVD RADIO( which recently won the People’s Choice Award) will be taking a break from live shows for a few weeks. My awesome producer at blogtalkradio Nikki Starr will be filling in with some archives and will keep the chat room open for the regulars who look forward to our weekly gift of feeling socially adequate for 2 hours every Wednesday from 9-11(6-8 p.s.t.)
Noticed the new ROBVANDAM.com site?
It’s pretty sweet, huh?
More features-like videos from me or youtube or even my demo reel of action on the profile page!
While you’re checking out the new features, take a look at the RVD outfit that’s up for auction. When 5 Star Comics online store manager Tony Vela ( plug for ya, Ton!) told me that I gave him an outfit that’s been on trading cards and even an action figure, I almost wanted to take it back and trade it for another. Almost.
Also, take a look at RVD TV DVD Vol 1. This is the first of many to come, and an exclusive at ROBVANDAM.com. This is a sneak peek at a varied version of a DVD that will be in stores in the spring. Every DVD from my web site still comes with an autograph. Sweet!
Another of one of my many projects is a comic book that I wrote, which is materializing at it’s own pace. Here’s the deal. It’s a 4 book set and after 2 books, my artist had to leave the project. I need someone to replace him, but I really, really like his art work and I’m only interested in finding someone that can match his style-which you can see a sample of here.....final_page_11_.jpg 685×1023 pixels and final_page_12_.jpg 614×1024 pixels
If you can hang, send in a sample to my webmaster at unkinddesigns@yahoo.com.
I heard the new RVD Classics action figure is due out in Spring. I hope they make a lot of them. I always noticed that my figures were hard to find in stores. I’m sure you noticed the same thing. There were plenty of certain wrestler’s figures but not mine. Hmm..You’d think they would’ve made more, but I guess they needed the room on the shelves for the others to hang. I think they felt the same way about my t shirts in the arenas. Ahh..the good ol’ days.
After filming Wrong Side of Town, Sonya and I will be on tour in France, where I’ll be wrestling for one of those select bookings that I take. This is not a green light for promoters to contact me about working in their flea markets. If you would contact any of the select promoters that I have worked with over the last couple years instead, I’m quite sure you’d have a different idea of RVD fitting into your budget.
What do you think? Enough news? No. I know you...you want to leave this blog thinking.
On our last RVD RADIO show-which you can still listen to-we talked about Power and Greed. We had Sabu, Spike Dudley, Fonzie, Officer X, Neil Kaplan and others on-hand to discuss the deep subjects. The thing with Greed for me is this. I want a big house. I want several big houses with millions in the bank. Is that greedy? As a dream chaser I find that I want to reach for the stars, and I believe that many people feel that you should only want what you need or you are sinning. Maybe I’m wrong. Where do you draw the line? Is it a sin to want a lot? If you already have a lot? More money? More sexual partners? More friends? More food? More happiness? More power? More Where do you draw the line between greedy and ambitious?
With power, I believe it can mostly be limited to having something that others want. That gives you power over them. If you can help them with a job, favor, whatever upgrade in life-you have power over them. If they don’t want what you have, there goes your power.
The guy that takes pride in the loud noises that his motorcycle makes when he’s revving it up thinks he’s cool because he has that power. I think it’s just obnoxious. He has no power over me. The power of influence is a good thing, and from our conversation we talked about my ability to empower others with positive energy. If I want a lot of power am I greedy?
Feel free to tell me what you think, you always do.
Back atcha real soon-
