In the wonderful world of modeling, some girls resemble each other so much that they seem almost interchangeable (it's occasionally a struggle to identify who's who in random street-style photographs!). But though there are many cookie-cutter catwalkers prowling the streets of Milan and Manhattan, occasionally we spy someone with the kind of singularly striking style that influences others far and wide. One such young lovely with that sort of sartorial impact is the bowl-cut beauty, Tao Okamoto. With her darling cap of hair (which is so beloved by designer Phillip Lim that he made all the models in his F/W 09 show wear look-a-like wigs) and propensity for bold red accessories (namely, lipstick and boots), Okamoto is completely au courant and a worthy subject to spotlight in today's Model Off Duty!

When trying to articulate the style of bon vivant Shala Monroque, a few bon mots come to mind: daring, vivacious, sophisticated, cosmopolitan, eclectic, well-traveled, elegant, and unique. In a rather dizzying pace, Monroque, whose post as editor-at-large of Dasha Zhukova's incarnation of Pop magazine, has made waves on the international party circuit for her fearless taste and boundless joie de vivre. Whether Monroque is reporting on the Amelia premiere at the Doha Film Festival in Qatar (her very inspiring blog is a must-read), dancing the night away at a speakeasy in St. Petersburg, or hosting a fashion week fête attended by the jet set and art world elite, one thing becomes very clear: Shala Monroque's wonderful wardrobe is a collection of great beauty and her artfully crafted ensembles have made quite a bold impression!

We have a confession to make: immediately after seeing Almost Famous, we developed a serious fashion-crush on not only Kate Hudson's on-screen persona, Penny Lane, but also on the stylish star herself. Whether she was polished at the Oscars in a shimmery Stella McCartney gown or showing off her signature sixties rocker look with wide-legged jeans and silk scarves, we were absolutely smitten with Hudson's inspiring and eclectic taste. And though her style has certainly evolved over the past decade, our love for her has not waned. In fact, while watching a trailer for Nine the other day—in which Hudson go-go dances and belts out tunes such as "Cinema Italiano"—our hearts skipped a beat with excitement, as we imagined what her promotional-tour wardrobe will look like. Now that's amore!

During the Victorian era, black clothing symbolized the absence of light and life; however, in modern times, wearing sooty shades has little to do with this bygone notion. Yes, inky outfits are still de rigueur for sad situations, but it is certainly appropriate to wear all-black for any happy occasion. Whether you want to get a glamorous, modest, seductive, practical, elegant, powerful, or modern look, black should be the go-to hue for your winter wardrobe. Not only is noir easy to integrate into your rotation, but it's also flattering and complimentary to any skin tone (in an office full of blondes, brunettes, and a redhead thrown in for good measure, we constantly rock the all-black ensembles!) Needless to say, we are going back to unbasic black in today's How They Wear feature!

In this installment of Ask A Stylist, we tackle one of the most prevalent—and sexiest—style concerns yet: how to pull off a body-con skirt. This surprisingly flattering trend is still super-hot among Hollywood's fashionable elite and it is a wonderful look for non-red-carpet moments too. In fact, we think it's so remarkably wearable that we will provide you with two distinct ways to wear this body-skimming piece. With no further ado, we'll leave you to enjoy today's episode of Ask A Stylist as we take this must-have mini and make it work for day and for night!

Whether it's serendipity, coincidence, or just plain good taste, WhoWhatWear.com readers and staffers alike seem to be single-minded in the pursuit of finding out what our favorite fashionable celebrities are wearing. For example, much like your submitted queries, we were also curious about Sienna Miller's faux fur coat and ..Olivia Palermo..'s military-inspired cardigan! Thankfully for us all, we had our lookbooks and publicists' email addresses at the ready, so we couldn't be more thrilled to go about our business of tracking down all the pertinent details in today's Answers installment!

We're all for sculpted shoulders and bondage accessories, but sometimes all that snug-and-sharp style makes you long for a little slouchy sophistication. When that mood strikes—which it no doubt will—this season, there's only one place to turn for inspiration: Chloé. Currently helmed by creative director Hannah MacGibbon, the storied fashion house revealed a standout collection this fall, featuring loads of luxurious fabrics, sensational shoes, and earthy eighties glamour. From fabulous flat pirate boots to supersized blanket cape-coats to soft silk separates, there is so much to emulate and adore!

If for some reason our recent Currently Channeling and Ask A Stylist stories haven't hammered the point home, let us say it again: the eighties are back with a vengeance. But unlike some seasons, when a particular era only impacts a few select designers and clothing styles, this decade is influencing everything from fashion editorials to cocktail frocks to the coolest hairstyles. Regarding the latter, one of the most interesting interpretations of eighties style we've seen is actually a beauty reference, specifically Madonna's "Lucky Star" look. As seen on the pop star circa 1984, the 'do in question showcases unruly, voluminous, semi-kinked locks, and it's currently being worn by everyone from established trendsetters (..Mary-Kate Olsen..) to up-and-coming talent (..Juno Temple..).
