Don Imus, who once declared "She Left Me For Jesus" as the "greatest country song ever," has invited Hayes Carll back to his studios for a morning of conversation and song.

On March 6, Hayes will travel to Woodstock, NY to participate in Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble. The evening's line-up includes the Levon Helm Band as well as Little Sammy Davis & Fred Scribner.
 
The Ramble Sessions are based on the southern medicine shows of Helm's youth and some of the most notable entertainers and musicians of our time have performed at The Midnight Rambles.
Gates open at 6:00, studio doors will open at 7:00 and the show will begin at 7:30 PM.

If you live in the Fort Worth area, then start making plans to join Hayes Carll at Billy Bob's this Saturday, January 9.  Not only will he be playing a night of great music but he will also be celebrating his BIRTHDAY.

Footballs fans - don't worry, Hayes will hit the stage around 10:30 PM... after the game. Want to make a night of it? Come to Billy Bob's early and watch the Cowboys & Eagles battle it out on one their 31 TV screens.

KGSR Broadcasts Volume 17 will be released on Friday, November 27th. This 2 CD set, which so handsomely features myself and the incredible Steve Earle, is a limited edition and features live KGSR studio recordings from a variety of artists including Calexico, Todd Snider, Alejandro Escovedo, Fastball, Gillian Welch and more.

Every Monday from now until the release date, KGSR will reveal tracks and audio samples from broadcasts vol. 17. 
Proceeds from the sale of this CD will be donated to the SIMS Foundation. Since 1995, SIMS has provided mental health and addiction recovery services to Austin musicians and their immediate families. A small portion of the proceeds also go to support the Blues on the Green series.

Nominations for the Houston Music Awards have been announced with many nods towards Hayes Carll including:

-Best Local CD/LP, Trouble In Mind
-Best Local Song, "Bad Liver and a Broken Heart"
-Best Songwriter
-Local Musician of the Year
-Best Roots-Rock/Americana


Voting begins in the July 2nd issue of Houston Press. The winners will be announced on July 30th at Warehouse Live.

Stingaree

Bolivar's Back and this year's Stingaree Music Festival will unite with the Texas Crab Festival to celebrate the return of the Peninsula. The festivities will take place on the weekend of May 29 - 31st at Crystal Beach's Gregory Park. Artists scheduled to perform include Ryan Bingham, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jesse Dayton and of course... Hayes Carll.
