Hi guys-

HOMETOWN SHOW TONIGHT!

We want to make sure you're all set up for the show...

The details:

Doors are 6PM.  THE HINT is 4th of 5 bands, starting as early as 8:45PM.  The venue is RECHER THEATRE in Towson, MD.  The link has venue info.

If you don't have a ticket:

The latest news is that nearly 750 advanced tickets have been sold, so that means it's going to be packed!  The venue is leaving room for walk-up thankfully, so if you're coming without a ticket BE SURE TO SAY "THE HINT" TO THE DOORMAN. That supports us directly and means the world to us.

If you got a ticket online:

We've got you covered.  You don't need to wait for tickets in the mail - we leave them at the door for you.  All you need is some form of ID to get in (any will do).  We've produced a guestlist with your name and number of tickets on it, and the doorman will give you your tickets.  The name on the guestlist is the name of the person that made the order.  If you want to change this name for any reason (say someone bought you the tickets), you can just write us an email to store {at} thehint {dot} com.  If you have any problems whatsoever, please ask for someone in our band to come help you out.  We'll make sure you're set.  Hit us up with any questions, but keep in mind we've got a soundcheck beforehand so it gets a little crazy.

If you are waiting for a ticket from us:

Send us a message.  We'll meet you before doors, especially if we've set aside a ticket for you.  I know some people like to make sure they can get in in case it sells out (it has before, many time), and we'll do whatever we can to make sure you can see the show.

We've got lots planned, these shows are always the best.  Come to see all the bands too!  It's a CD release for Storm the Beaches.

Saturday night, here we come.

<3

p.s.
We'll have all the new MERCH at the show, first come, so grab it early (especially the new run of hoodies).  To take a peak, visit the online store.

p.p.s.
If you don't have any of our music, go to this LINK and download free songs.  Hover over the song to see links for lyrics and if it says "DOWNLOAD" next to the track, then it's free.  Click on each album cover on the right for more songs.

Goodbye: 2009

Hello: Two Thousand Ten

I feel like no one's in love with this past year, but new year's always gets me nostalgic about all we've been through together.  It's been an incredible ride and I'm super thankful to everyone that's come into my/our lives this past year.  Thanks for your endless support.  I get overwhelmed thinking about how we've beat the odds and made it this far together.

Looking back...

This photo was taken before (or during?) "When It Gets Dark Enough..."  I loved making that album.

Photo: Jennifer Furlow

This year we put out our first album in Japan, our first single in the UK, hit #1 on Purevolume and began work on a completely new album.  We've been writing through the winter and I can't wait to share all our new ideas once we get in the studio again.  We've still got much to do, so hang tight.

We're about to put up our latest photos and I'll tease you with just the bottom of one.  Weclome: 2010.  I always thought this year would be space-like.  Deep space in crystal ships.  Let's get on that.

New pics up this week!

I've got a favor to ask as a last thought of this year.  Download "I Want It To Feel Like Love" at this site for free - DOWNLOADS.  Hover over the name of the song and click "Download".  Then, instant message it, or email it, or facebook it to one of your friends.  Tell them this is a your message for the new year.

Resolutions.  Last year was so much different than this year.  I feel like we've spent a lot of time soul-searching which is awesome; this always leads to change, in the very best of ways.  We've always been a very fluid band, always moving, and we've opened up some big gates the last few months.  It seems like we've liberated ourselves some from the structures around us... the walls we'd built, too.  Things are wide open now.  Our resolutions this year are pretty simple: to be more of who we are, in the biggest way possible.  And secondly, in the moments we feel like we need the most help, to give back to someone who needs it more.  And most importantly, to find more time to be together.

Big shows coming up in Virginia and Maryland.  January 9th w/ Tabi Bonney in Marshall, VA.  And, our hometown show at Recher Theatre on January 23rd in Towson, MD.  Tickets are already available at our ONLINE STORE (takes paypal and credit).  You can also message us directly for tickets (only $5!).  Both should be massive and sold out.

Cheers to a new decade!

Happy New Year,

<3

BLOG: SONG OF THE DAY

The Hint - Deep Blue Sound

I realised about three seconds ago that I have been neglecting the beautiful new discoveries that Myspace has if you just look in the bulletin bar. My posting about The Hint is taking place in BeansTalk, my home away from home that has the most delicious cup o' joe I've ever sipped in my limited, ADD memory.

The Hint are bound to sound a tad familiar to those who favor The Cure and a select number of slow-jam pop punk balladers, but what gets me about The Hint is their mellow aggression in their metaphorical montages. "Deep Blue Sound" contains everything from butterflies to ships running aground to describe the fall of fancy, and the movements include soaring synth and even a wailing guitar solo. To some it may be a bit cumbersome, but to others it is a thoughtful effort to exercise musical abilities. Get "Deep Blue Sound" from The Hint's third album, I Am The Hint.

"Things We Do In The Dark" is slowly becoming one of our most downloaded songs.

Check out this video we heard about on Youtube with 87,000 plays (what!?):

Thanks for all the comments, guys.

We just added it as a favorite to our channel - youtube.com/iamthehint.  If you have an account over there, add it up.  If you've got a video, send it to us and we'll favorite it.

Dave's mother went to the ER on Friday in a sudden accident, and he followed behind the ambulance to stay with her at the hospital.  No worries, she's doing fine now, and healing.  We played an acoustic show in Jersey a few hours later... it was absolutely amazing to hear you all sing all the words with us.  Holly caught some snapshots:

I'm not allowed to tell you what it is yet, but Geoff's been bearding up for a while for a Halloween costume (he waters it daily, and is afraid of his own shadow).  What are you guys going as?  Got a costume?  Stay tuned for an announcement about a Halloween show.  Save the date.

Lots of love,

<3

OCTEMBER:

It's darker much earlier than usual and I couldn't believe how cold it was last night when we were loading out.  Still, I love the beginning of autumn, the smell in the air, the feeling of change.  As a band, we've been accepting certain changes about ourselves and our music and it's been a good time for us to be writing.  After all, it is all about the music - that's easily the most grounding part of who I am.  Even my little hand-made demos get me excited for the final recordings.

September was a roller coaster ride of heavy writing, heart-wrenching funerals, impossibly deep canyons, near-misses with mountain goats (@GeoffTheHint), adventures to Ecuador (@DaveTheHint), moving and packing, new music toys (@TimTheHint) and a lot of behind-the-scenes things that are going to make the coming months absolutely amazing for THE HINT.  We always share good news with you first, so as soon as we can make certain announcements, we'll spill it.  Expect a new video blog soon, new pics, maybe even a sneak-peek of new music (?!).

There's a free download up on a very supportive UK site called Alter The Press.  Here's the link to grab it:

UK EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD

Write the site and send your thoughts.  If you're reading this from the UK, Japan and Brazil, thanks for supporting us.  We're super-thankful for all the word-of-mouth.  And to all of our friends and fans at home, thank you so much for sticking by our side.  Your support keeps us alive.

We've got a lot coming out online soon, but I wanted to share a piece of it early.  This is a link to our new music page.  It's got all three albums up for streaming with artwork and lyrics.  The site now has 8 free downloads and we'll be changing those up from time to time.  You can listen to all the songs and read ALL the lyrics now (finally).  We noticed that there are lyrics posted all over the place online but so many of them are wrong and incomplete.  You can buy the album in any digital format you want and choose your own price, too.  If it says "download" next to the song, that means it's free.  Click on each of the album covers to stream all the songs.

THE HINT MUSIC (FREE DOWNLOADS + LYRICS)

Tomorrow, we're in South Jersey with Team Goldie and 2AM Club.  Next week, we're headlining the Homecoming show at Lycoming College.  Then, we're hitting George Mason University and we'll be posting a Halloween show soon (save the date).

Tim made the new myspace layout, it's sick!

Saturday, September 12, 2009
Hi guys-

I just watched a documentary called "102 Minutes That Changed America".  It's the most real and intimate view I've ever seen of what happened on September 11th, 2001.  It's airing a lot on the History Channel, without commercials.  I've heard stories from people in New York City and at the Pentagon that day running through the streets and stairwells in panic.  It wasn't until today, seeing that footage, that I truly understand the chaos.  Watch it if you can.

I remember where I was exactly that day.  You?

In memoriam,

<3
