September 30, 2009 - Wednesday
Last night, since almost every WWE personality was in Boston for The Decade Of Smackdown show, we all went out to eat after the show last night. A huge tab ended up being comped, which was very cool. Everyone was gonna leave generous tips because the meal was free obviously, and we wanted to take care of our servers. I was one of the last ones to leave, and was figuring up the tip. The tip wasn't as good as I would have liked it to have been from a couple of the guys. So I left an extremely large tip at the end before leaving. I joked and said it was a sin that I had to pay for other people's mistakes and cheapness. I bet a couple of my closest WWE friends that if I posted a tweet rephrasing the situation as "I am exhausted from being punished because of someone else's sins", that the wrestling media would pick up that comment and run with it as something completely different. Low and behold, almost every site did. It's not surprising that I won the bet, it's exactly what I anticipated happening. Just another example of how they're looking for any comment they can to translate however into hits for their site and reader views. So take it from me, don't believe everything you read-fact is rarely separated from fiction when it comes to any branch of the "media entertainment market." They LOVE me!

Until then everyone, be well..

In addition to the Undertaker returning tonight, myself, Matt Hardy-"The Man Who Will Not Die", "The Lifeblood Of Smackdown", "The Sensei Of Mattitude", The Black Cloud", "The Workhorse" returns to the ring in MAJOR singles action. After what CM Punk did to Jeff last week, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be defending the "Hardy" name. And tonight is gonna be a big challenge for me, returning to the ring in a singles match after having serious, major abdominal surgery only 8 weeks ago. When the doctor said he would physically clear me at 6 weeks, but I should probably wait 8 weeks to train, and then 12 weeks to wrestle-I asked the Doc one question. "Doc, do you know what my name is?" He responded and said "Matt Hardy, the guy that won't die or something, right?" I said "Yeah"... I'm throwing myself immediately into the mix because I only know how to approach life in one way, and that's by acting and saying "GO! GO! GO!"

I'll get back to 100% along the way, as I go. I have made things right with my brother Jeff Hardy-we are both at peace with one another-actually tighter now then we've ever been. For everyone who asked about all the"incidents" that happened to Jeff, I'll let it be known right now that I didn't commit any of them. I played mental games with Jeff, playing off his misfortunes, to get him in the ring. It was wrong and I know it was wrong. But I had to prove to myself that I was not the "lesser" Hardy, but that I was the "superior" Hardy. As it turns out, I learned a very valuable lesson. There is no such thing as a "lesser" Hardy and a "superior" Hardy. There is only two people, two men, two BROTHERS-Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. In my next blog, I will explain everything, and you will understand things like you never have before.

But as far as tonight goes, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT miss Smackdown at 8 p.m. on MyNetwork TV, the best wrestling show on television. So right now, tell all your friends and favorite websites about this blog, pass the info along, forward the link-because I want everyone watching what's gonna be an AWESOME edition of Smackdown tonight! Thanks amigos!

August 31, 2009 - Monday
I noticed a website mentioned my "Goodbye Blog" towards Jeff has mysteriously disappeared. I have no idea why, neither does the head of WWE.COM.. Oh well, for those of you who want to read it, it will be posted here. and it WILL NOT disappear.. And for the record, I actually love the Internet Wrestling Community.. I would not have returned to the WWE in 2005 without them, so I got nothing but love for ya! But I must admit, there's that small 5% that I want to evolve, to educate.. But I am realistic, I know I'll never get everyone on the same page-but it doesn't hurt to try, in my humble opinion. Here's the original blog, just in case you missed it..

Goodbye Jeff, You Will Be Missed..

I'm gonna miss my brother, more than any of you will ever know. He's not only my Blood Brother, but he's my best friend in the entire world. When we were together and tight, we were inseparable. When when were separated, we were tighter and more together than ever before. Not only will I miss him, but so will the WWE, Smackdown, the boys and girls in the locker rooms, his friends, and his legions of worldwide fans.

I wanna thank Jeff for literally breaking his back for the sake of our business day in and day out. The fans should think him for all of the unselfish entertainment he has provided them in the past. Jeff would be the first person to admit he's not perfect-but his love to make children happy, and to make adults "OHH" and "AHH" as he performs for them is second to none. And I mean NONE! Jeff has always been respectful towards his fans, and the majority of fans have respect for him. For any of those "know it all guys" of the IWC that don't respect Jeff Hardy-you're all hypocritical jackasses. Period. Jeff made one of your favorites, CM Punk, a legitimate main-eventer on Jeff's way out the door. So maybe you can at least find respect in that fact.

Jeff has two herniated disc in his back, suffers from "Restless Leg Syndrome"-which makes it hard for him to sleep at night, and also has some nagging neck injuries. He needs time away to heal physically and mentally. As disappointing as it is, look at what Jeff said.. "It's not goodbye forever, it;s goodbye until next time." I thank every friend and fan that has supported myself and Jeff from day one, when we were just "extra talent" appearing on WWE programming. No one, and I mean NO ONE thought we would come as far as we did.. And contribute so much to this great business.

God Bless You Jeff Hardy! Thanks for being so supportive of me throughout my career. In honor of you, I feel I have to step up and be all I can be on Smackdown. I will bust my ass to be better than ever now, especially since I'm healthy for the first time in a long time. And by that, I mean it's time for me to be what I'm destined to be, The World Heavyweight Champion.

August 22, 2009 - Saturday
Tonight is a night of WWE Smackdown that you DO NOT want to miss. It features the return of myself and my brother Jeff teaming together for what could possibly be the last time ever. Our dream as kids was to one day be the "World Tag Team Champions" in the WWE. We made that happen eight times over. Whatever you do, don't miss Smackdown tonight from 8-10 p.m. eastern-it will be a very special night.

On a very interesting side note, August 21st, 2009, marks the first time I've ever actually wrestled a match with an abdominal tear/hernia. When I was in 7th grade, during a standard sports physical, I was diagnosed with a inguinal hernia on my lower left side of my abdomen. The doctor that performed my surgery also informed me that a had an abdominal tear on my right side as well that would one day probably need to be corrected. The Doc said it wasn't bad enough to be fixed then, but any sports or physical contact would obviously make it worse. I discover wrestling. I fell in love with the idea of being a professional wrestling, particularly for the WWE. As I worked independent shows, my right side abdominal tear never bother me. I almost chalked it up to one of those things that I was just gonna be able to live with the rest of my life and it wouldn't be a problem. Once I joined the WWE and started on a full-time schedule, once every few months my intestines would slightly bulge or swell, and I would just push them back in. And then it would be months before this happened again. So I figured it wasn't that big of a deal, the last thing I wanted to do was take time off to get something fixed that really wasn't even bothering me. Fast forward almost ten years.

When my appendix ruptured, I remember being drugged and going into surgery asking if they could also repair my abdominal tear on my right side. They said no. They only do one surgery at a time. But they did tell me that slicing my abdominal area open to take out my appendix and clean me out would make my abdominal wall weaker-which would make my long time tear worse.

I became the United States Champion in April of 2008. It was a big deal for me, but I could feel my abdominal tear slowing getting worse and bothering me more and more everyday. I wanted to have it fixed soon. Immediately after losing the United States Championship, I became the ECW Heavyweight Champion, which was a HUGE honor to me and for me. I remember wrestling Jack Swagger at a live event and feeling a painful tear of my abdomen. I had to have this fixed. The pain and discomfort of this injury was affecting my physical look, my in ring work, my training in the gym, almost every aspect of my career.. Everyday was a hard day for me at this point. Next thing you know, I'm embroiled in one of Smackdown's hottest issues that would ultimately lead to myself wrestling Jeff at Wrestlemania. There was no way in the world I was gonna miss that-another dream of ours as kids was to wrestle one another on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. And we did. I was then drafted to Raw and legitimately broke my hand at the Backlash PPV. I think due to overcompensating while working with my broken hand, I completely tore my abdominal wall on the right side in a match against Kofi Kingston and MVP. It felt like someone slashed my entire right side with a white hot butter knife. It was definitely one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. My intestines were protruding as big as a tennis ball, and they wouldn't push back in this time. Pretty gross and graphic to say the least. Graphic pic ahead..

I obviously couldn't put off the surgery any longer-God and fate had forced me to take the time off to get this issue corrected. And I did. On July 2nd, 2009, I finally had the surgery that was many years in the making. The doctor had explained to me that my intestines were all outta wack, and my foods or liquids weren't digesting properly. On top of that, the way my intestines were off track, it was almost like a water hose being "crimped"-not allowing the water to flow through it smooothly. That let to my entire abdominal area being swollen. It wasn't very intelligent of me to put the surgery off a couple of years, but I'm also too stubborn to take time away from what I love when things are going great. And just for the record, only 2 people knew about my condition, as I kept it hidden from WWE officials because I knew they would have pulled me from active duty immediately. Bottom line is this-kids don't try this at home or do what I always do, LOL.

I feel better than ever now. On Tuesday, August 11th, I got cleared by my Doc to train lightly. This last Tuesday, August 18th, I got the green light to start training heavy and to start wrestling again. I did everything I could during this time to make my comeback as quick as possible, while intelligently keeping in mind I had to be truly healthy. So tonight, on August 21st, 2009, I make my return to a WWE ring and couldn't be happy. I felt a tad of a step off my first night, and my body is nowhere near where I want it to be. Give me a month or 2 months now that I'm healthy. You'll see the best Matt Hardy you've ever seen. And that my friends.. IS A PROMISE! Make sure to catch Smackdown tonight.. It's definitely gonna be a historic one. And I thank everyone out there-whether you love me or you hate me-you motivate me to be better. Be well my friends,

Hey guys and guys. Hope everyone is fantastic. I just spent the last couple of hours doing WWE promotional interviews, and I wanted to buzz everyone on one specific one. I spoke with Fitz in Arizona on 97.9 KUPD in what turned out to be a great 30 minute+ interview about Tuesday's Smackdown, myself and Jeff, WWE, pro wrestling in general, and Wrestlemania 26 which happens in Phoenix on March 28th, 2010. If you're in the Phoenix area, definitely check it out. If you hear the interview, please post your thoughts, comments, and feedback underneath as a comment-I'll be checking them out later!

I am working on a very detailed WWE Universe blog as well about the extent and severity of my abdominal injury, one you'll all find very interesting and compelling. That will be up either late tonight or tomorrow at Matt's WWE Universe Blog - keep checking for it. I guarantee you it will be worth the wait.

Just finished up a highly productive day in New York City, including business and pleasure. Extremely excited about the future. This Tuesday my fantastic Doctor, Dr. Pappas, cleared me to start training again which means one thing.. I'm fully focused on returning to Smackdown and making it the Matt Hardy Show! If you support me and believe in me, great! If you doubt me and don't think I have what it takes, thank you! Those two types of motivation will drive a healthy Matt Hardy to become the best that Smackdown has to offer. Please doubt me if you dare.. To begin with, I'm gonna get in the shape of my life, I'm gonna take over Smackdown, and then I'm gonna take over the entertainment world. Mark. My. Words. Don't miss Smackdown this week, I'll be watching VERY close. I have one thing primarily on my mind now. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here you go..
In the next few days, i'm gonna post a detailed blog revisiting my long standing injury. You will not belive it..I guarantee you that. But it's all true, much like it's only a matter of time before a become The World Heavyweight Champion.
BIG things are in the works.
Until then..
Matt
