Hola, Myspace amigos!

I'm writing this to you from the beach in Cancun, where I am roasting like a Thanksgiving turkey.
Goodness, it feels lovely.

While I've been working on my tan and stuffing myself with tacos, I've been listening to a smashing CD called A Night in Mexico. My favorite track, of course, is "La Bamba," because how can you not love that one? I'm pretty sure I've been impressing the ladies with my moves. I mean, it's nearly impossible to listen to "La Bamba" and not dance to it.

There are other great tracks too, and you can check them all out here. And hey, if you think you can tear it up on the dance floor even better than me, then head down to Cancun and prove it.
It's on!

Toodles for now -- I've got a poolside massage at 4pm.

Current mood:  adventurous

Well, well, well: I've gone from Paris to Puerto Rico this week, which has been.....shall we say....a change of scenery? Goodness me, what a difference!

The sun is out here in San Juan, and I've been strolling the cobblestone streets of the city, taking in the super sights and sounds. Tomorrow I have a trip planned to El Yunque rainforest, and I plan to indulge in a spot of ziplining and waterfall-splashing.
Well, providing I can do both with my red pointy hat on, of course!

Keeping me company on this trip has been a new CD called A Night in Puerto Rico, and mios dio, it's smashing. There's really nothing like listening to the music of a country to get you in the mood to explore it.
You can check out some samples from the CD here. Don't blame me when you find yourself booking the next flight to Puerto Rico! Hey, I'll see you there.

For now, though, I've got to dash: there's a nice big ice cream cone with my name on it, and I'm determined to track it down!

Until next time, chaps!

Bonjour, mes petites choufleurs! (That means "my little cauliflowers," you know.
Don't tell me I never pay you a compliment!)

Here I am in the City of Light itself, the glorious Paris---or Pareeeeeee, as I like to call it.
I've been wearing a beret perched precariously atop my pointy red hat, because mon dieu, is it cold! In fact, I've been taking my croissant-eating duties very seriously, because I've decided the only way to get warmer is to acquire an extra layer of fat.
To that end, I have been forcing myself to tuck into four pain au chocolates every morning. It's a hard life, I tell you.

While I've been here, I've been listening to a smashing CD called A Night in France. It's quite super really---or should I say super! which is just super in French---and if you don't believe me, you can listen to some of the songs yourself right here.

See now, doesn't that make you feel like twirling around in a Parisian dancehouse, with the good old Roaming Gnome as your dance partner? Well exactly. I thought so.

Au revoir for now!

Hola Amigos!

Here I am in sunny Spain, where I've been chowing down on tapas and drinking my fair share of sangria.
Oh alright then, I've probably been drinking more than my fair share of sangria.
Whoops!

So far, I've climbed La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona (it was a bit of a haul for a little chap like me!), spent hours in the Prado Museum in Madrid, and wandered the Parque Maria Luisa in glorious Seville. I also believe I may have overindulged a little on the manchego cheese.
So sue me!

Throughout my trip, I've been faithfully listening to my new CD, A Night in Spain, whose mellifluous melodies have accompanied me on my travels around this smashing country.
Have you ever wandered Las Ramblas at dusk with the sound of "Los Hilos del Alba"in your ears? Then, my friend, you haven't lived.

Adios!

Mamma mia, chaps, do I have some stories for you! I've been in Italy over the last few days, learning the language and slurping up plates of perfect pasta (well, cut me some slack, it's hard to use a fork when your hands are stuck in your pockets.)

Goodness gracious, what a romantic country it is. The scenery! The pizza! The women! (Well, and the men are fairly hunky too.) To get me in the mood for my authentic Italian sojourn, I bought a terrific little CD called A Night in Italy and boy, did I listen to it a lot. The chap in the seat next to me even asked if he could borrow it while I napped! (I let him. Aren't I nice?)

If a trip to Italy isn't in your future anytime soon -- and really, we can't all be as lucky as moi, can we? -- I suggest you pick this baby up. You can hear samples here. But don't blame me when you start craving a glass of chianti and a nice slice of tiramisu.....

Hello again, chaps!

Well, my tour of South America continues -- here I am now in Brazil, where I've been sunbathing on Copacabana Beach, drinking Caipirinhas, learning a little Portugese, and generally having a super time. To keep me in the spirit, I've been listening to a terrific CD called A Night in Brazil -- it's perfect for reminding me what a smashing country I'm in, and I won't deny that it's got me tapping my toes a few times as well. You can hear samples from it here if you're so inclined -- but don't blame me if you start dancing around your bedroom!

Toodles, chaps -- the beach beckons again! I'm just one shade away from the perfect tan.

Hello there, friends! It's me, the Travelocity Roaming Gnome. I've been a little lax on the old blog posting these days; I've just been swept off my feet with traveling, you see! Ah, the life of a Gnome: scuba diving in the Bahamas, eating wienerschnitzel in Berlin, climbing to the top of the Space Needle in Seattle. It's been a busy couple of weeks!

One place that's on my list for my next trip is Argentina. Have you ever been? Oh, it looks like a splendid country. In preparation for visiting, I've been listening to this smashing CD called
A Night in Argentina-- it's full of some awfully super tunes that have really got me in the mood for traveling.  I can taste the dulce de leche now!

Have a little look-see for yourself when you get a chance. And tell me, have you ever been to Argentina? What's your favorite place?

Chau, suerte! (See, I'm learning already...)

Current mood:  accomplished
1) The landing gear lifting up as the airplane I'm on takes off. Up, up, and away!

2) The roar of the rental car's engine as I floor it down the highway. Nothing like the open road, old chap!

3) The hiss of the espresso machines in Rome. Mmmm, caffeine.

4) The cicadas chirping in the summer evening, while I sit on the porch with a lovely cup of tea and the Sunday Times crossword.

5) This one beautiful sentence: "Why yes, Roaming Gnome, we would like to upgrade you to Business Class."

Hello there, chaps!

How's life been treating you? Your old pal the Roaming Gnome has been quite the busy bee as of late -- zipping around from here to there and back again. As soon as I get over this rotten jet lag and download a few of my piceroos, I'm going to tell you all about the most smashing trip I just took to Berlin. Did you know it was possible for a Gnome to eat his weight in Bratwurst? I'm living the dream, I tell you.

Tschuss!

Hello chaps!

By now, you've probably all seen me on the telly, fulfilling my travel wishes. But I've been wondering: what's yours? Are you dying to try whitewater rafting? Do you dream of collecting seashells on a Fijian beach? Would your last request be to eat a fried spider in Cambodia? (Hey, it takes all sorts. They're a delicacy over there! Crunchy, but rather delish.)

Chime in with your top secret travel wish if you find yourself with a free second. I'd love to know!

Toodles!
