I can't believe it's already May! And that we only have two more episodes left in the season. Well, the strike not only knocked the show off track, but also Flonkerton as I've updated very little since November. But I'm getting back on track and wanted to post what's new(ish) at Flonkerton.

* Back in February, I posted a Random Poll about Office Break-ups. Vote for the nastiest here.

* I revised my recaps (again) and Fun Run is the first recap in the new, fun format. Check it: Fun Run

* Fanart made it's triumphant return to Flonkerton with this fantastic piece: Eight Tries added up.

* Last, but not least, is my newest poll, Andy's Greatest Hits.
The first two things that anyone who meets Andy Bernard will learn is a) he went to Cornell (ever heard of it?) and b) he likes to sing. And boy does he sing. From the standards to the 70s, to alternative and beyond, Andy seems to be the sole contestant on his own Dunder Mifflin Idol. Let's look back at some of his greatest hits and vote for your favorite.

Hey friends. It's been a long while since I posted a blog here, sorry about that. I am in Japan teaching (or trying to teach) English to Japanese teenagers. It's been interesting to say the least. It also took FOREVER to get home internet. If you have this vision of Japan being all technically advance just because they have things like fan dancing robots, I'm here to tell you otherwise.

Anyway, having home internet allows me to finally be able to maintain the site again, and there's already a lot of new posts for you to feast on.

First, I would like to have some feedback from you, yes you. I wanna hear what Flonkerton features you love, what you could do without, and maybe suggestions of new feature. So check out my post: Getting Back on Track.

I am continuing my episode recaps and I'm introducing a slightly different format. My previous recaps were detailed . . . too detailed really, so I decided to streamline the "summary" part of my recaps. I have also added a new "Flonkerton's Favorite Quotes" section where I will post roughly 10 of my favorite quotes from the episode. The first recap to be written in this format is Halloween, so please go read the recap and the Pam Pong Scorecard.

I also skipped ahead wildly and wrote a Pam Pong scorecard for Fun Run, because I can't help myself. I've decided that when I write a Pam Pong scorecard for a newer episode (Season 4, and maybe Season 3) I will include a few "discussion" questions. So read Pam Pong: Fun Run and tell me if you like the new questions.

Also in last week's episode, Launch Party, a new major Office Mystery about whether Jim started at DM before or after Pam surfaces, so read Office Mysteries: Who started first?

That's about it! I am going to be writing a full review of this week's new episode for TheTwoCents, so check it out on Friday morning!

Since I didn't update much this week, let's get straight to the SVC!

This week's theme for Business School
Pam and Michael's Friendship
Much like Jim, Pam doesn't seem to be too happy with Michael as her boss and is always looking for new ways to tease him. Despite that, Michael and Pam have formed and unexpected bond, and have supported each other on several occasions.

Please stop by, ponder the questions, and please, please comment! Only 8 more Thursday's to go!

Before I get to the poll, just a reminder that Week 4 of the Scavenger Search is up at JelloStapler.com

Now, Random Poll!
This Week's Topic: The Cars of Dunder Mifflin
Cars are a necessity, sure, but they also often reflect the character of the person that drives it. So what does Michael's choice of a Sebring convertable say about him? How about Pam's Yaris or Jim's new Saab? Read all about the cars of Dunder Mifflin, and vote for who has the nicest ride.

Hey everyone. The good news is we're past the halfway point of the summer break, and an all-new Office is only 2 months away, whoo hoo! I think we're gonna make it.

Before I get to the SVC, here's what's new at Flonkerton:
* You still have until the end of the weekend to get your entries in for Week 3 of the Office Scavenger Search. Start searching!
* This week's fanart post includes some Jam related items, plus what does the cast of the Office look like Simpsonized?
* I have created a Flonkerton exclusive email. So if you want to contact flonkerton for any reason at all, you can email me at flonkerton.mods@gmail.com.
* Flonkerton is now on Twitter! You can basically see every little thing I'm doing Office-wise (at least until the novelty of Twitter wears off for me)

Now onto the viewing club
This week's theme for Phyllis' Wedding
Secondary Character Love
Sure, Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam and Ryan might be the "money beets" of Dunder Mifflin, but "The Office" just wouldn't be "The Office" without the myriad of secondary characters. From uptight sticklers to gossip queens to a guy we're pretty sure is homeless, here's to the supporting characters that enrich our Office experience.

Please stop by, read, and post!

Now it's time for the random poll (this was pretty extensive this week)
This week's topic: Office Goofs
Nothing's perfect, not even our favorite show. It takes a rather keen eye, but there are still mistakes to be found. Were some episodes aired out of order? Had Jim really never played Call of Duty? Why does it always appear warm and sunny even in the middle of winter? Read about the Office Goofs, and vote!

Now onto this week's Summer Viewing Club
This Week's Theme for Ben Franklin
Party in the office
Everyone loves an office party, well, except for most of the people actually attending one. The parties at Dunder Mifflin are at best mildly entertaining and at worst exercises in torture as Michael somehow makes things more uncomfortable than they usually are. So push those desk up against the wall, set your iTunes to "party shuffle" and let's talk about awesomely awful office parties.

Please come post!

This week also marks the return of the Random Poll!
This week's question: Welcome Back!
Greg Daniels recently said that unless the character is dead, they're still part of the Office universe and could come back at any time (sorry, Ed Truck). So which character would you like to see return? Read the post containing reasons why they'd come back, and vote. (warning: that post contains a very, very tiny season 4 spoiler)

I didn't update much this week, so I don't really need a bullet list list usual. Check out this week's fanart post for cool, manga styled pieces. Also, the Office Scavenger Search is starting Monday, go to this post to read all the info.

Time for the newest installment of the Viewing Club!
This week's theme for Initiation
Ryan's descent into Dunder Mifflin madness
Ryan Howard came to Dunder Mifflin as a temp, and frankly liked it that way. He didn't want to get too involved with activities, wasn't too "eager to please" his boss, and was determined to never be known as "The Something Guy" around the office. But two years, a girlfriend, and a couple promotions later, Ryan is in deep and it's starting to look like there's no way out.

Stop by, read the discussion questions, and post!

This week's topic: Office Ailments

Alcoholism, anal fissures, gluttony; the employees of Dunder Mifflin suffer from several different ailments. Too bad they have such a crappy health plan. Read about the worst of the Office ailements, and vote!

Now it's time for the Summer Viewing Club
This week's theme for Office Olympics, Booze Cruise, and The Secret
Secret Secrets
"Secret secrets are no fun, secret secrets hurt someone." Despite that sage advice from Elizabeth the stripper, there are plenty of secrets of the romantic variety floating around Dunder Mifflin; secret crushes, secret romances, even secret desires to break up.

Stop by and comment!

It's time once again for the random poll of the week!

This week's topics: Hardcore self-destruction

There must be something about selling paper and sitting in the beige-walls of Dunder Mifflin that makes their employees snap, because quite a few have. For some workers it was just a matter of time before they broke down, but for others it was a bit of a surprise. Read about these incidences of self destruction and vote for your favorite.

This week's theme for the reruns of Casino Night, Branch Closing and The Merger
Jim and Pam's Time Apart
After 3 years of spending 40 hours a week together, Jim and Pam were suddenly in different states and facing big changes. Pam was single for the first time in her adult life, and Jim was trying move on from the heart break he endured on Casino Night. Just when each was settling into a new routine, they were back in the same office, but their relationship would never be the same.

I'm a day late, but that's okay.

This week's Topic: The Hook-Ups we'll never see
The Office has been accused of having too many inner-office hook-ups, but there's still plenty of pairings that no amount of alcohol or desperation could make happen. Here's a list of hook-ups that are about as likely as Ed Truck coming back from the dead.

It's rerun Thursday, which means it's time for the Summer Viewing Club!

The theme for this week's rerun of "Diwali":
Partying outside the office
Dunder Mifflin isn't exactly the best place to throw a party with it's neutral colors and harsh florescent lighting, so once in a while Michael Scott and company take their show on the road. Not only does this offer a change of scenery, but also gives us a peek at how our favorite office workers interact outside the office.

Read the post, watch the episodes, answer the discussion question, and mostly, have fun!
