THE GREATEST DANGER

Do we have a broken heart for the state for the Church?

There are so many dangers in a Church age that is content, prosperous, fat, and "having need of nothing!" Christ’s last words to the Church was "repent" in the letters of Revelation because he said "I know thy works."Christ knows your works nothing is hid from His eyes.

Many Christians are living in utter sinful lifestyles that grieve the heart of God. Francis Frangipane said: "The greatest danger facing the Church today is exhaustion because God is resisting us as a proud Church."

The scriptures say plainly: "God resists the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." If you do not humble yourselves now then there will be a "day" of humbling to come. We must repent and humble ourselves while it is still called "today." The time is short.

Leonard Ravenhill stated it is "either Pentecost or Holocaust." These are our choices! We must either humble ourselves and allow God to revive His Church or continue in our proud self-confident Christianity and send the multitudes to hell.

Over $150 Million for the 2009 Inauguration!...What a Joke!!

Once again we are seeing media bias. Liberals claimed that the $42.3 million dollars that President Bush spent was so much money and it is. However I don’t see the same people up in arms with the cost of this years Presidential Inauguration.  In fact I doubt anyone knows since it doesn’t seem like a whole lot coverage is on it.  Well the estimated cost of the 2009  Presidential Inauguration will be between $150 and $160 million. (assoicatedcontent.com)

I am simply blown away at the cost of the Presidential Inauguration. I think its insane that Obama would spent that much money especially when we are having a financial crisis.  I think its extremely wasteful and it shows poor judgment.  That amount of money can be used for so many other really important things.  He claims he cares so much about the public then why not give the money to help people who need money for health insurance, food or gas.

What bothers me the most about this huge cost is the double standard.  A lot of liberals were upset that Bush spent $42.3 million dollars.  Now its funny to think they were so mad at Bush but not Obama.  $42.3 million dollars is a lot of money however $150 million dollars is such a huge difference that I don’t understand how the same people who were mad at Bush are not mad now.  People should be up in arms that Obama is spending this much money when were having a tough time in are economy.

This is plain two faced hypocrisy!

A Stinking Cesspool!

I heard of a rural area where one elderly farmer had a three-acre fishing pond on his property. One day the water supply that fed into the pond became clogged and the water stopped flowing. Soon, all the life in that pond died from suffocation and the algae took over. After a while that beautiful fishing pond was reduced to a stinking cesspool. When the farmer unclogged the source of fresh water, the life-giving flow was restored and life eventually returned to that pond.

Our lives are like that stagnant pond. We are denied the life-giving presence and power of God because we have allowed our disobedience, our lack of surrender, our rebellious sin, and our lack of prayer to clog our fellowship with our Source. Remember, the devil only exercises authority when it is given to him. Only repentance and an unrelenting pursuit of God will break his power and rescue our cities and nations from his dominion.

I don't know how much of a stronghold the devil has on ....America...., but I can tell you that God isn't finished with this nation. God dearly loves the people of this nation, and He is sounding a wake up call to our churches! He is speaking to His people. He has already paid the price for our freedom. Now He is asking us, 'Will you pay the price to save your land?'

The Word says, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

Our problem is that we conveniently forget the first half of that verse! We like the 'fleeing' part, but we avoid the 'submitting' part like the plague. The truth is that no fleeing will take place until the submitting takes place. If the devil isn't fleeing from you, don't blame God. If you want the enemy to flee, you have to yield. You must submit to God.

Hi Friends and family,

Jodi and I want to wish you and your family a great Thanksgiving!

I never really knew what it was to be thankful until I came to know Jesus in a personal way. I realize now how every breath I take is a gift from God almighty. Knowing Him is the greatest thing that has ever happen to me in my whole life. I am forever grateful for that.

So I pray God's best over you this Thanksgiving time. I pray that He guide you and lead you, I pray that He draw you into a walk that is so real with Him that you praise and glorify Him with your every breath you take. I pray that concerns and worries that you may have be given over to Him as He is the one who can still do miracles and can still meet your every need. His name is Jesus. I pray you call out to Him today! ..Amen.

Peace and blessings to you all!

Many of you know that I direct and operate an outreach ministry called Life Line Outreach Ministries. The vision we have is very clear, it is to share Jesus with folk where ever we are and however we can. We do this in many ways from meeting with the incarcerated in Correctional Facilitates, by walking the streets of our neighborhood, to free cook outs to the impoverished in the inner city, praying and ministering to the elderly. All these are ways we fulfill the vision God has given us.

This December 13th, 2008 we will again be stepping out to minister Jesus this Christmas season. This will be out third consecutive year helping the poor and needy. We will be going into very impoverished neighborhoods and giving out "free" 5 lb. Hams and a new Bible to every family we meet as we go door to door.

For most of these people, this will be their holiday ham they cook for Christmas dinner. And as we bless them physically, we will minister to them spiritually. We will be sharing the good news with them and testifying of our great God, Jesus Christ! Everyone will be offered prayer as we are trusting God to set the captives free and save souls.

Would you please pray for this outreach. Pray that God would move and touch lives; to soften hearts and for the ministry team be anointed to share the love of Jesus with boldness as we speak the life-changing Gospel.

I would graciously like to ask you to pray and see if God would have you partner with us financially to minister these Christmas hams and new Bibles. I refuse to resort to "gimmicks" or "high pressure-guilt laden techniques" when asking for help. Simply stated all I ask is you pray and see if God would have you help. All monies received will go directly to purchasing hams or new Bible. The price for one 5lb. canned ham and a brand new Bible is approximately $11.00.

You can give using paypal on-line by going to the Life Line Outreach Ministries Blog and clicking the on-line secure "Donate" button. Here's the link---->

I thought this was a good statement from Dutch Sheets            ~Igy

November 6, 2008

I feel certain that many in my stream of the Church want a statement from me concerning Tuesday's presidential election. I will be frank in my remarks but I do not, however, intend to vent anger or attack anyone. I have read several statements from friends and colleagues I respect very much.
Their thoughts are well stated and, for the most part, insightful. None of them, however, seem to want to say some things that I believe need to be said. I do not claim infallibility or to have the final word, but my convictions run deep and I believe I bear a God-given responsibility to share them.

Was This God's Will?

Was what happened Tuesday God's will? I am quite confident it was not. America was offered a very clear choice between moving further toward protecting the unborn or further away; between a Supreme Court that would move toward honoring God, life and morality or away from it. The stakes couldn't have been higher nor the cost greater. As a nation we put on blinders concerning Barak Obama's background, associations, beliefs and practices, and set these causes back years, possibly decades.
And in doing so we took another step away from God and His plans for America, and another step toward judgment.

Judgment Will Increase

This is not a fire and brimstone warning from an angry, legalistic preacher. In fact, I feel more sadness and grief than anything else.
Perhaps I feel what Jesus felt as He wept for Jerusalem while announcing its judgment. I am not hoping for judgment; I am saying it is inevitable. I don't know where the unbiblical belief comes from that says a nation can live any way it pleases, can reject God and His ways-even mock Him-and not receive His judgments. Nor do I know when the belief came that it is always mean-spirited or judgmental to warn of these things. To the contrary, I believe it is our responsibility.

In warning of judgment, I am not suggesting that God is going to intentially and directly hurt people. Much judgment is simply the absence of God's protection and provision, caused by a rejection of His laws and ways. We have been experiencing some forms of judgment in America for years, but God in His incredible patience and mercy has kept us from the level we've deserved. I believe this will change to a degree and judgment will now
increase:

For those in the Church who aligned themselves with pro-abortion forces, I believe judgment will result.

For leaders in the Body of Christ who refused to take a stand for fear of losing people, money, and tax-exempt status-I believe there will be a degree of judgment.

For those, both within the Church and without, who voted money over morality-a potential raise or better health insurance over the life of a baby-there will be judgment. (The irony is that this decision to base one's vote on the hopes of a better economy won't produce the hoped for result anyway. The scriptures teach that it is righteousness which exalts a nation and that the nation is blessed whose God is the Lord.)

I have heard the argument that God cares as much about social justice issues (such as poverty and racism) as He does abortion, making a vote for Obama OK. I certainly believe God puts a very high priority on caring for the poor and I, too, have wanted to see equality demonstrated through a "minority" president. But to equate having a better income or the desire for a first black president, regardless of his positions ..ion and morality, to the issue of killing 50 million babies is not justice-it is a gross distortion of justice and great deception. I fear that we have been desensitized to this issue of abortion. I believe it kills babies and takes innocent life. I also believe it is blood sacrifice that empowers demons. Let's not forget this in our noble attempts to be kind and conciliatory.
For African Americans I can easily see how it could bring healing to have a first black president, just as it would be for Native Americans to achieve this or for women if a woman were elected president. Again, I have wanted to see justice in this way. I am only saddened that the price for this healing ended up being Barak Obama, a man that will set the cause of life and, most-likely, our God-given destiny as a nation back so drastically. (I also realize there are some who interpret any criticism of Obama as racism. Racism is so NOT what I am about nor what I live, that I will not even dignify any such accusations with a response.)

What Can We Expect?

What are some of the judgments we can expect on our nation from this election?

More economic woes

More violence in an already violent nation

Disease and death (satan, who is responsible for these things will have greater inroads to our nation.)

Natural disasters (weather-tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, drought; fires; earthquakes; etc.)

Terrorism (they will fear us much less now)

War, perhaps on our own soil

Judgments relating to the Court. The stacking of the Supreme Court against the sanctity of life and God's influence on America will occur, which will in turn cause the shedding of more innocent blood, more rejection of God's laws and the stealing from us of our godly heritage-all of which will perpetuate a cycle of even more judgment.

How Did This Happen?

I've been asked if this could have been averted had there been more prayer. I'm not sure. I believe there was a remnant of Christians fervently praying over these elections-I don't think there was anything more they could have done. Others, obviously, should have done more. The complacency and lack of discernment concerning our real condition in America-especially by the Church-is both appalling and horrifying. America is in serious trouble and it seems no one wants to say it. Fewer still are willing to do anything to change it.

Though I understand our reasons, we must be careful in our attempts to placate our feelings and calm our fears through religious phrases like "God is still on the throne" or "God has a plan". He was on His throne 35 years and 50 million babies ago. And He had a plan back then. The problem is, it was us. I understand our reasons for waving high the banner of God's sovereignty at times like these-it gives us hope. I will wave it, as well.
But please be careful with this. Too much emphasis on God's sovereignty and we're worthless; too little and we're hopeless. Maybe we should say, "we lost a critical battle but God will give us strategy to win the war." Then find the strategy.

But still yet, since God is usually willing to work through a remnant, I thought we had enough prayer. Obviously, God decided otherwise. There comes a time when He will not forgive or bless the majority based on the prayers or actions of only a few. America rejected God and asked for a king; I believe we now have our Saul (see 1 Samuel 8:5-7)-a man who does not have God's heart for America but his own. Like Israel in scripture, our nation believes it can turn from God and still be blessed. In His mercy and justice He will show us otherwise.

Like many, believing I had many promises and confirmations that God would "grace" us with a pro-life president in this election, I failed to consider strongly enough that all promises-even scripture-are conditional 99.9% of the time. Though I never prophesied or made guarantees that McCain-Palin would win, failing to factor this principle in strongly enough no doubt caused me to share my optimism with others inappropriately. If this caused any harm or confusion, I apologize.

Has the fact that my prayers weren't answered shaken my faith? No. I'm a little confused and discouraged. I'm also somewhat angry at the nation in general and much of the Church. Mostly I'm grieving over the nation and what this will cost us. I am not, however, angry with God and do not question His justice. And it is not true that we wasted our time, energy and money in our efforts anymore than it is a waste when we share the gospel with people who don't get saved. We must keep in the forefront of our thinking the fact that ultimately we are doing this for Him and that He will reward us for our faithfulness. And who knows, perhaps He will store up all those prayers for the next battle (Revelation 5:8, 8:3-5).

A friend and fellow warrior said it well,

"We did 'give it our all.' I know the Lord was pleased with that. A coach wants to know one thing at the end of a heartbreaking sports loss: 'Did you leave it all on the field?' (your passion, your commitment, your strength, your courage, etc.) I know that we 'left it all on the field.' We didn't hold anything back until the game ended. Tragically, it ended in defeat. We will rise for another day because Jesus is worthy."

Where Do We Go from Here?

Does this election outcome shake my faith that we can see a great awakening and ultimately reformation in America? Absolutely not (and it strengthens my resolve). We will simply get there through greater pain and loss. Even my passion to see the Supreme Court shift is not from a presupposition that there can be no spiritual awakening without it. It is simply due to my deep conviction that their decisions bring so much death, destruction, curses and judgment to America; and because our full destiny as a nation is unquestionably linked to their decisions. So, yes, we will get an awakening and reformation; but the reality is that this reformation of the nation will reform the Supreme Court (and government, in general), not vice-versa. My faith has never been in people or a political party; my faith is in the God who works through them.

I've been asked if my feelings about Sarah Palin have changed. They have not. I believe she is an Esther, a Deborah, with a huge mantle from God for reformation. God has a great destiny for her related to this nation if she chooses to continue down this path.

So, in conclusion, we must re-group as an apostolic, praying church and advance. We must maintain an immovable faith in God, His plans for America and His mercy. And we must move beyond simply asking God for a spiritual awakening and ask Him for strategy to produce reformation, as well. I, for one, am just getting started!

For God and this great nation,
Dutch Sheets

I'm sitting here reflecting on this day- "Election Day". Boy, I'm so glad it's finally here. I just returned from voting and yes the place I voted at was packed and yes, I had to wait but only about fifteen minutes, so it wasn't too much of a sacrifice.

But as I sit here and reflect on all this, I can't help but wonder how this country could really be impacted if all us who are truly "born again" would have this much zeal about winning souls. This last few weeks all I have heard was "Go Vote" – "It matters" – "Pray!, Intercede" "Don't neglect your responsibility", "You can make a difference"- I heard this from the Church house to Christian TV to Christian internet forums to blogs. And that is all good and fine. But, why isn't there the same zeal and encouragement to win the lost? – I think that is a good question to ask ourselves. In all reality no political person is going to change a human heart, a heart that is one heart beat from hell without Jesus. No political party or platform can take a person who is bound by drugs and alcohol and totally set them free. No promise from mere man can change the heart of an adulterer, porn addict, liar, thief, murderer, and deliver them from the grip of satan. But yes!- my Jesus can!! He can set the captive free!

Joh 8:36 Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
He can totally transform a sin-sick soul and make them brand new! Amen!
2Co 5:17 So that if any one is in Christ, that one is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Only Jesus can heal and deliver!
1Pe 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

Col 1:13 For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son;

Why is it were not as encouraging to go out to the highways and by-ways to witness? Why don't we say "Jesus Matters…Go tell some one"? Why don't we encourage "Pray-intercede for the lost?" Why don't we look at our congregations as Pastors and say "Don't neglect your responsibility to share the King of Kings to a sinner"? Why? – Why is there so much more enthusiasm for the political things while sinners plunge to hell at the rate of about one hundred every minute (one per second) Why is that? Do you think are priorities are a little off?... I do.

So yes, go vote and do "your duty" but don't forget that eternity is forever and sinners will go to a place called hell without Jesus and to us who are truly born again we have a "more sure" responsibility to reach all we can with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Don't Go To The Place Called Hell!

Jesus talked about hell about as much as He did about heaven. Jesus told a parable about a rich man and a poor beggar named Lazarus. They both died "And in hell he (the rich man, not because he was rich, but in his life had denied God) lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame". (Luke 16:23-24)

A young man once told a preacher that he did not believe in hell and felt no remorse for the ungodly lifestyle he had chosen. The preacher replied, "When this life is over we will know for sure who was right about hell. If it is me, I have lost nothing. If it is you, you have lost everything." "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26)

People have chosen to either ignore the possibility of a burning hell or to simply not believe in the existence of such a place. We need to make them think about it. There needs to be a comeback of hell-fire and brimstone preaching. Choosing to not believe in something doesn't make it disappear. Teenagers on LSD believed with all their hearts that they could fly and that gravity no longer applied to them. Choosing to not think about something and ignore it doesn't make it go away either.

A preacher of a full gospel does not create hell nor does he consign any person to its realm. He simply 'tells it like it is' as he honestly interprets the living Word of God in relation to the place and its occupants.

The Bible speaks of hell lasting for eternity Nobody knows where hell is. If it were under the earth's crust, however, a "lake of fire" is fitly described. Molten rock and metals 8,000-13,000 degrees Fahrenheit make up a portion of the inner earth. Nobody is saying that is hell, but if it were, would you want to go there for even a moment? What about for just 10,000 years? How about for a million years with no hope of ever escaping?

Hold a lit match in one hand sometime and hold your other hand over it for as long as you can. Poor comparison, but you get the idea. God doesn't want anyone to go to hell, where the fire is not quenched. That is why Jesus came and died for mankind's sins.

Some joke about hell and flippantly say that's where they are going to be funny. Hell is no joke. It can't be explained or wished away. It's forever. Don't go there. Don't put off thinking about eternity. Do think about it. Accept what Jesus did on the cross for you, invite Him into your heart surrender your life to Him repent of your sins and make heaven your home.

Here's a good (word) article from my friend JC Smith for Christians voting 3rd party. He changed my mind. ..Check it out...~Igy

Christians voting third party

by JC Smith

..

The following quotes are from two different men. The first man's quote is in plain text and the second man's is in bold face, just below here...

"I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so."

"The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfill God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated. For God's will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord's creation, the divine will."

"And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly, it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people. And when I look on my people I see them work and work and toil and labor, and at the end of the week they have only for their wages wretchedness and misery. When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil, if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people are plundered and exploited."

He "felt God's spirit beckoning me," he writes in "Audacity." "I submitted myself to His will, and dedicated myself to discovering His truth."

"We do what we do because God is with us."

"At some fundamental level, religion does not allow for compromise. It's the art of the impossible. If God has spoken, then followers are expected to live up to God's edicts, regardless of the consequences. To base one's life on such uncompromising commitments may be sublime, but to base our policy making on such commitments would be a dangerous thing."

Just because you claim to be a Christian, does that make it so? As can be seen in the above quotes, both of these men made clear statements of being a Christian. Both men attended a church and both men appealed to the masses who were uninformed by simply telling them what they needed to hear in order for them to feel okay for their support.

Obviously, saying you are a Christian does not make it so. But for many out there, it does. We live in an age when the church is getting steadily more and more liberal, when the Emerging Church is trying to make young Christians feel okay about their vote for Obama. The Republicans have not been overtly Christian and so many are either not voting at all or are voting for a 3rd party with no chance of actually winning.

But votes that go to candidates with no real shot at winning are effectively votes for Abortion in this election. And that is exactly what we must look at right now. Not the economy, not Iraq, not eloquence or charisma but what the real issues are for us as believers right now. Those issues are our freedom of religion, free speech and abortion. Because those issues directly affect our lives as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, not just as citizens of the United States.

So does attending a church make you a Christian? We know that it doesn't.

Do grand statements about finding Christ or the importance of God's will make you a Christian? Anyone can talk using Christian buzzwords, friends.

So what is the important quality that we should look at? The decisions that we make that are in line with God's word. The fruit of a changed life. Our nature being transformed to be like His nature. Those are the important things, not the words that you say in order to win an election.

Obama's statements about his faith paint him as a Christian but his actions against life disqualify him. You can not claim to be a Christian and yet hold the most radical abortion record ever for a Presidential candidate. Listen clearly; you CANNOT be a Christian and vote for the harming of innocent babies, in the womb or out.

Some say that we should not have an opinion as Christian leaders, that we should talk about God in church and leave the politics out of it. If I were to remain silent while an imposter masquerades as a Believer, all the while standing on a platform of abortion, infanticide and socialism, then I should share in his just damnation.

How can I claim he is not a Christian, after all, I can't see in his heart, right? Well, that is true, I must admit. I can, however, see his actions and determine what kind of tree it is by its fruit. The second set of quotes, the ones in bold, are from Obama. When I look at what he says, it sounds wonderful. When I look at what he has done, I see the real person behind the hype.

The first set of quotes, those are from Hitler. Apparently, he was a Christian as well. The argument could be made that he was a "better" Christian than Obama because the hill of bodies that he stood on while claiming to be a Christian was "only" six million. Obama stands on a hill of FIFTY MILLION and GROWING and is CALLING FOR MORE.

And while everyone who says anything about Obama is labeled a "racist", let's look at this another way.

While only 14 percent of the women in the United States of childbearing age are African-American, the most recent national statistics (1997) show that 35.9 percent of all abortions were performed on African-American women.

While African-American women constitute approximately 14 percent of the women of child bearing age in this nation, many centers report that well over 50 percent, and in many cases a much higher percentage, of their clients are African-American.

Since abortion was legalized in 1973, more than 14 million African-American babies have been killed. This is more than the total number of African-American deaths from all other causes combined (heart disease, diabetes, cancer, crime, accidents, AIDS, etc.) This is about 1/3 of the 43 million abortions that have occurred since 1973.

* About 1,200 African-American babies are killed by abortion in the United States every day.

* A disproportionate number of the nation's abortion clinics are located in low-income and minority neighborhoods, where a majority of African-Americans live.

* Approximately 35% of all abortions in the United States are performed on African-American women, while they represent only 13% of the female population of the country.

* In 1990, African-Americans comprised the largest minority group in the U.S. Hispanics are now the largest minority group.

* African-American women who abort their first pregnancy have a 2.8 to 4.7 times greater risk of developing breast cancer.

So, not only is he pro-abortion, he is also guilty of supporting genocide against his own race. Now, I know that Obama has never performed an abortion but Hitler never personally killed a Jew either.

I praise God for the Word of God.  Those of us who are believers and followers of Jesus, we grow in God as we read and obey the Bible. The Word of God will change you if you allow it. Really, it is the Holy Spirit who is working and empowering you to obey. The Word says in Php 2:13  "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure." Praise God, we can't do it without Him, our role is to yield and surrender ourselves to Him and obey Him as He reveals things to us that need to change.

This current blog will be the first of several new blog teachings from the Word of God. This will actually be my first crack at doing a blog series. This will not be a deep exhaustive series of studies, but hopefully these can provoke thought and spur you onto a deeper study on our own. So please comment and follow the teaching as we learn and grow together.

The Bible says in 2Ti 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." Notice the function of the Word should produce in us: good doctrine, reproof, instruction and righteousness.

It is impossible to read and study the Bible and not be changed. You will either have your heart changed to obey or your heart will be hardened to continue in your sin-It's your choice.

Fruit of the Sprit or lust of flesh  (Intro.)

Whether you like it or not you are known by your fruit, whichever it may be, good fruit or evil fruit. The Bible says in Mat 7:16 "You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit."

We're all at different levels in our growth walk with God. A new believer will not have that much fruit to show as they are just learning and growing, but there should still be a change in their life. It should be noticeable to friends, family and co workers, that they have started a walk with Jesus. The Bible says in 2Co 5:17 "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new."

This "fruit" we are to produce is the nature of God. We're to look more and more like Jesus everyday. Of course, I'm not talking about physical looks; I'm talking about our nature and character. We're to be more and more like Jesus in how we talk to people, how we handle our business affairs, our thought life, how we treat our families, how we act when no one is looking, etc. These are the fruits that will start showing up in our lives.

Now, the contrast or the opposite to the fruit of God is the "lust of flesh". This is the old nature of man, the sin nature. The Bible sometimes calls it the flesh or the old man. And even after we come to Jesus we have a responsibility to put down the "old man" to "crucify" the flesh nature. We are to resist the sin and evils that the "old-man" was used to doing in the past. Here are a few verses showing God's heart on this:

Rom 13:14  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not give thought to the flesh to do its desires.

Col 3:5-10  Then put to death your bodies which are of the earth; wrong use of the flesh, unclean things, passion, evil desires and envy, which is the worship of strange gods; Because of which the wrath of God comes on those who go against his orders; Among whom you were living in the past, when you did such things. But now it is right for you to put away all these things; wrath, passion, bad feeling, curses, unclean talk; Do not make false statements to one another; because you have put away the old man with all his doings, And have put on the new man, which has become new in knowledge after the image of his maker.

Eph 4:22-24  For you ought to put off the old man (according to your way of living before) who is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And you should put on the new man, who according to God was created in righteousness and true holiness.

1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Rom 6:11  Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus.

A very important thing to keep in mind as you think about these things is as you surrender your will to the Lord He will give you the "grace", the "empowerment" to resist the lust of the flesh. When we rely on our own strength we will fail. 1 Cor. 10:13 "No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it." I like what is says in this verse "God is faithful" God didn't leave us to do this on our own. He is present help in a time of need. We just need to call out to Him.

The next blog in this series we will look at Galatians chapter 5 and we will get into more depth and comparison of the fruit of the Spirit and the lust of the flesh.

*Feel free to comment and share your thoughts.  Peace to you my friends!

Preachers that use "Canned Sermons"

Recently, the Lord spoke to me to start preparing sermons. It kind of floored me because the way the Lord typically uses me has been mostly in an evangelistic way by meeting people on the streets or in jails or where ever and I minister to them spontaneously as the Holy Spirit leads. It's not like I walk up to a drunk and pull out my sermon on the dangers of alcohol and speak that to him. No- it doesn't work that way. So when the Lord directed me to start preparing sermons, it surprised me and excited me at the same time. I certainly don't know what's in store but I am just putting it in His hands and trusting Him.

Anyway, as I was praying and thinking about this whole "preparing sermons" word from the Lord, I started wondering about just how many preachers use "Canned Sermons". A canned sermon is a sermon that someone else has prepared. It's one where someone else has taken the time to study and seek God and they preach this sermon then someone else repeats and reuses it. It is copied and reused as if it was there own.  And if you can believe it, there are many internet sites that actually have services to where Pastor's can purchase these "canned sermons" with all the outlines, power points and notes.

Another way people get canned sermons is they will listen to some popular preacher on CD or DVD and write the message directly from listening to that media. There's no seeking God- No crying out to the Lord for a fresh Word- There's No due-diligence in studying and preparing a message. No, It's Just a simple download –copy- and re-write and they are ready to go.

I find this repulsive! Really, I find it nauseating, because, if a person is called to preach they are called to be the mouth piece of God Almighty. And if they are called- the gifting and empowerment from God will be there. And to me, if God has called someone that someone is not called to just parrot or repeat something they heard or copied. I believe this is very serious. God has entrusted them to deliver a word from His heart. Not some regurgitated word that was meant for someone else. Come on! Pastors –Preachers! Stop doing that stuff! Repent! Are you called or not? If you are called then the grace to hear from Him will be granted to you also the ability to study, to prepare, and deliver it will also be there.-Amen!

Can you imagine James or Peter of the Bible stopping over at Apollo's house to pick up their sermons for the week? –No! Not happening. These guys sought the face of God through prayer and travail, not letting go of the horns of the altar until they had a word from God. They paid the price. They weren't lazy taking the easy way.

I think I would rather stand in the pulpit and admit that I have nothing than to preach another man's message. Where is the conviction? Are we not Minister's of the Gospel?  Are we not God's messengers who are to bring Gods Word to His people? How can a stolen sermon reflect the life and walk of the man who reads it? How can an echoed word bless and minister to the people of God in a local Church?

Having Peace In Economic Uncertainty

With threatening economic uncertainty being talked about daily this should not be a source of anxiety to true believers who are trusting in Jesus as their personal Savior. We who know the Lord are looking forward to His soon return, and we are assured that our future is in His hands. Amen! No matter what happens on Wall Street, My God is my source!

But, many of you do not feel this assurance. Sometimes that fear tries to come on me and when it dose I remind myself that God made me and I have a personal relationship with Him. He's my God and I talk to Him; I cry to Jesus! I take my cares to Him because he cares for me. Some people call this a crutch, well, what's their crutch? The whiskey bottle? Crack? Porn? TV? The list goes on. You see, my relationship with Jesus gives me peace. The Bible says, "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord" (Isaiah 26:3).

When we leave God out of our lives, there is an empty space left in our hearts; it's like a void but no earthly gratification can fill it. We try to fill that empty space in all kinds of ways: sex, drugs, alcohol, pleasure, personal relationships, money--the list goes on. But it will never be filled by anything or anyone except Jesus Christ. No matter the troubles in the world, you can have peace with God.

The bible gives us many promises to keep us in God's perfect peace when the world is shaking with fear. We are to "watch and pray," but we are not to have an unwholesome fear, which is equivalent to doubting God's Word. If you look at Jude 24 it describes God as "Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy." In Ephesians 6:13 we read,: "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." It is important that we make our relationship with Jesus a priority, that we faithfully serve Him in consistent Christian living, and that we eagerly look forward to His coming again. Amen?-Amen!

Some other related Bible passages to read are: Matthew 24:42; Luke 21:36; Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; 2 Timothy 4:8; Titus 2:11-15; 1 Peter 4:7; 2 Peter 3:9-18. May God bless you as you trust in Him.

Below I pasted in an article by Andrew Strom, this is his current e-mail article I just received it this morning. I found this a very sobering article - I agree with much of what he wrote. I still hold out hope that we as a nation will repent and cry out to God. This is serious people of God. I ask the question: ''Has the depression begun?''-- I'd love to hear your thoughts. ~Igy

The DEPRESSION HAS BEGUN
-by Andrew Strom.

Ten months ago in November 2007 while preaching in Wisconsin, I felt a strong unction from the Holy Spirit to speak about the future of the United States and the imminent Crash. As often happens under that kind of anointing, a real boldness came over me, and for the first time I found myself clearly putting a "date" on the coming financial Depression - something I had never done before - except in the vaguest of terms. I found myself predicting that tragically within six months America would be in Recession, and within 12 months the actual Depression would begin. (-This audio is on our website - http://www.revivalschool.com )

So let us look at the evidence. It is now ten months later. Has the Depression begun? Sadly the answer has to be "Yes". In the last two weeks the two largest mortgage giants in the world (Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac) failed, the largest Insurance Company on earth crashed (all taken over by the US Government), Lehman Brothers went bankrupt (almost taking the entire financial system with it), Money Markets reeled, the two remaining giant Investment banks sought protection as "holding banks" - which means the end of Wall Street as we know it, etc, etc. Stocks are in turmoil, Oil leapt on Monday by the most ever recorded, gold is volatile - and on it goes. -The most shattering two weeks since the Great Depression. Meanwhile the US Treasury is seeking 700 billion dollars in a forlorn effort to put Humpty back together again - tragically too late.

THERE ARE "JONAHS" on THE BOAT

Why is this storm hitting America at this time? There are certainly many reasons - most of which we have discussed before. But let me put something else before you that I believe God spoke to me not long ago:- There are "Jonahs" on the boat - and they are sending the nation down.

Who are these Jonahs? I believe they are the "prophets" of America who will not preach the truth - who sleep comfortably in the bowels of the nation while chaos reigns all around them. Too afraid to deliver God's word 'Repent', they run the other way - toward smooth talk and pleasant sayings - "Peace peace" when there is no peace. And the depths of this great crisis can be laid directly at their door.

Yes - that's right. A big reason why the ship of America is sinking is because her prophets ran away from their God-given task and message at the crucial moment.

If only these prophets had preached the TRUTH when the nation so desperately needed to hear it. If only they had begun - way back in the 1980's - to call the lukewarm church to repentance, to rebuke the people for their love of money, their greed, their sin. But no - the siren call of "popularity" was too strong. The call of  "grace, grace", of mass acceptance, of big reputations and even bigger offerings. And so they sold out. And now they sleep bliss-fully in the midst of the ship, while the storm whips to fury all around. How do you sleep, O Jonahs, who would not cry "Repent"?

And it is not just the "prophets" either. It is the televangelists too. Caught up in a world of fakery, hype and money-grubbing unseen in the church since the Dark Ages, these hucksters are spreading their garbage to every Third World Revival nation around the globe. Greed, manipulation and pride on a scale that only America could generate. Where is your shame, O charlatans of greed?

And so God is forced to act. And just like Jonah, the storm will not abate until the wayward preachers are thrown overboard. Until America is rid of these international thieves and prostitutes, she is finished. And she will not recover until they are gone.

You see, it is not just the leaders who are at fault here. It is also the people, who "love to have it so". And thus until the heart of the people is scourged and purged they will accomodate the "Jonahs" - even seeking more of their ear-tickling fables to comfort themselves in this time of breaking.

Until the heart of American greed is shattered - until her people act of their own volition to throw these Jonahs overboard - this storm will go on and on. In fact, it is about to grow a whole lot worse.

Mark my words, America: Until you remove these Jonahs, your nation cannot recover. They have held the whole world in thrall by their apostasy. And God cannot have it so any more. How long will it take you to realize? How long will it take you to act?

THROW THE JONAHS OVERBOARD and be done with them!! Only then will this mother of all storms subside.
