Antiqcool

The good old fashioned musical mystery, an audio collaboration that could easily be as complicated as the Enigma Code, a personnel puzzle to confuse the most ardent of reviewers. I..m sure Chester based Pete Smith refrains from masks and disguises but wonderfully composed collections of music, EP..s and albums are a growing trend from those elusive ego-less musicians. Out of the countless subliminal comparisons that surround Antiqcool, the term ..Ian Brown goes to The Cambridge Folk Festival.. so neatly labels the direction and sound.

Antiqcool: Another awesome mystery band

ANTIQCOOL RESONANT STRING THEORY 13

Continuing the growing Knox Road trend of featuring artists who provide little to
no information about themselves (see: Hello, Broken Arrow and Manet,) I present
to you Antiqcool, from just outside Chester, England. As far as I can tell
(and have been told,) Antiqcool is the project of Pete Smith and various friends.
When I asked Smith for more information, this is mostly what he had to say:
We are a mysterious bunch, the limelight is our kryptonite
which clearly makes life difficult for people who want to write about us.
Difficult, indeed, but kinda cool. Especially when the music is good. If you like soft
harmonies, acoustic guitar, and songs that lull you to sleep, you’ll be okay with
Antiqcool. And sticking with Smith’s “kryptonite” theme, that’s all I’m going to say.

You can find a previously released EP here.

Greetings earthlings. I have traveled many light years from a galaxy far far away on my push bike with stabilizers to
bring you harp, cello, classical guitar, electric guitar, synth, electric piano, grand piano....oh and tapping a felt tip pen
on a writing desk.

Me and friends of me. If you like this song download it for free and share it with all your
friends. If you don't have any friends play it to strangers, they will be impressed with your
taste in music and want to get to know you better.

Live long and prosper.... Kirk out.

Love Light

We are currently recording these songs....

Sleep now your prayers are done
They have not been answered
You're not the only one
God is only human
Don't wait around for him
To wash away your sin
Light up a torch and run
Torches can build a sun.

There's a love light
You can take it anywhere
And make hope out of despair
All you do is share

In a wasteland
Where the broken people go
Only seed they ever sew
Has no freedom to grow

I Gave You A Rose

I gave you a rose it was only a token but you have it still
Pressed and dried in a book full of poetry next to a candle on our window sill
When the long nights of winter descend
Read to me once again and pretend
There's a heady perfume
And the rose is in bloom
As the candle light dances our memories over the room

Live To Love Another Day

When you're tired of all the games that people play
When all the fancy words get in your way
When the peace of mind you once had goes astray
Your dues are paid
Don't be afraid

When chaos ruins battle plans you made
And keeping track of all the mines you laid
Has pierced your armour now you feel betrayed
Your dues are paid
Don't be afraid

To say what you mean and mean what you say
If it goes unheard you'll live to love another day
The world might let you down
But you'll be safe and sound
And I will always be around

Room Without A View

With time on my hands in a room without a view
Furnished with all the tools I need to build a bridge across the ether
My thoughts will turn to you, somehow they always do

Has cabin fever laid me low
Should I take a long holiday
To clear my head and clear the air
When I return if you're still there
I'll send a message in a bottle
Telling you how much I care

When all my dreams are lost at sea
Will you swim out to rescue me

Checkmate

Playing chess with a virtual friend
Takes my mind off a wound I was healing
Hoping in time it will mend

The pieces are weaving a puzzle for me
Embroidering moves in a rich tapestry

The obvious scar
Would be deeper by far
Without you to play on the strings of my heartless guitar
Though I don't really know who you are
As my king sends a knight to the gates of your castle
To tell you the story so far

The Muse

Muse took a trip to my heart
Timid and shy, there she stood with her watery eyes

Checking to see if the coast was clear

I left a trail of words for her to follow
Into my little world of tears and sorrow

Hoping she would feel at home

So I could always keep her near
And she did she did knowing she had nothing to fear

In a perfect world we would give all our music away for free and survive
on touring revenue, merchandising and licensing income. Alas this is not
always possible. In order to eat we have to sell a few CD’s. The good news
is that all tracks from “TARDIS” are free to download from Last FM
