Ever just want to  crack someone upside the head because they just don't get it when you explain things to them? That's how I felt today and i am so glad I didn't waste my efforts on this total asswipe because he is not worth it.

I have this OVR(Occupational and Vocational Rehabilitation) caseworker who was inches from getting clobbered after adding insult to injury. He had asked me to come in for a conference to show him paperwork to determine if his department could finance me for Tech School and then after selling myself and jumping through every hoop he wanted me to jump through he just sat there and was like "Well, I'm not going to write you a recommendation for any financial help since we already did this for you for PSU  twice already. And then when I was getting ready to leave he asked me how soon I could go back to Penn State knowing Iwas going to Pitt Tech...I had to count to ten just to keep myself from slugging him in the face. I called my School advisor at Pitt Tech and she was incredulous that this asshole was saying all these things to me and thought that this agent was acting very unprofessional. He is very lucky I didn't deck him.

My roommate and I have won tickets to go see the premiere of the movie Bewitched with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrel. I hope this movie is well worth what it took for us to win the tickets, having to endure the Bewitched marathon on UPN television. I'm sure it will be a fun movie.

Today, my partner and I got to march in the Pittsburgh Pride Fest Parade with a lot of our friends and I felt very pleased at the huge turn out and the support that we had from the city. There were some small minor incidents but that didn't dampen our spirits nor did it put a crimp in our enjoying the rest of the festivities. Things went along smoothly and cleanly, no one got hurt and no one got into any major arguements...iy was a peaceful demonstation and I hope, by the news vans I saw out on the road that we got some news exposure this time as opposed to last year when we got none. About the only act of political expression I saw was a rag dool made in the likeness of Rick Santorum burned in efigy while a tribe of pierced skin headed gay activists beat their war drums and sanced around the flames and chanted some choice words at the burning pile of rags. This was a first I have ever seen in the history of our gay marches, however given the nature of who it was I think it was well deserved.
There were many booths advertising many products to the GLBT community. I got to talk to a lot of  of representatives and I may hae found my niche  with some of the local political scenes. The one group does a political broadcast over the airwaves on a volunteer basis  and i just happen to be going into multimedia and that pricked up a couple fo their ears. I siad I don't mind doing volunteer work for them as long as I am active with their cause. They are going to let me know when they will meet next. This day was a very joyous day for me...meeting new friends, seeing old ones...soaking up the sun and listening to the local entertainment.
I have not yet heard anything about this Zach teen whose parent have placed him in the Refuge Reparitive Therapy camp, although I have written to the friend who is going to give me the exact information so I can start a petition drive so the sooner I know about this situation the more I will write and let you know.

I had the distinct pleasure last night of reading about a young teenager down in Tennesse, who trusted his folks so much with a secret that he  had been holding within himself that he thought he could trust his parents to sit down adn share it with them. And that is exactly what he did, he opened up himself completely and totally to his parents and trusted them with his secret. And what did they do? They betrayed his secret! They went to this minister who runs this reparitive therapy group(more like a concentration camp repository for neo con parents to dump their non-normal kids) This teenager TRUSTED his parents with his very soul to open himself up and this is how they repaid that openness? And you ask me: Why am I writing this  and why should I care and why should we care
Because, as many psychiatrist will tell you , reparitive therapy, especially the way that it is abused by these neo cons and their war on gay culture is dispicable, non scientific, and does more irreparable harm than good. Yet, these self-righteoous extremist parents are sending their kids to these reparitive therapy camps that are being funded by tax payer dollars and also by lobbyist groups like the Exodus Foundation which is also a part of the repartive therapy phenomenom and has been investigated for many of its abuses and illegal psychiatric practices. Ouor young kids and teenagers are in terrible danger by these stupid church group camps that claim to be able to "cure" a sickness that really isn't a sickness at all. In fact, since 1972, homosexuality has been taken off the list as a mental illness. Yet, these right wing assholes still persist, to no end to think they can change, no brainwash, these people into thinking they can be straight. The sad thing is you can't change a genetically inherited behavior. God would not make us this way if he did not intend us to be this way. Why can't society and the Church just let it be? Things are as they should be and leave it at that?
