They tell us to "Go Green"

Yet,

They can't recycle childhood memoirs,

Fall cleaning now begins days before the summers end.

A precious gap - toothed from a 9 year old boys face,

As eyes widen & glow,

To manually triggered shooting stars,

As the soundtrack for each element,

Sounds similar to the opening gun shot at the Derby,

Set with meticulous dedication and pageantry,

Amongst shore waves and eroded sand,

Is now pre disposed as, "Trash".

So, I ask that you please,

Use a hand if you have no mask,

To cover your vessels from,

The infestation's at hand.

And the Sun is our only source of power,

For a regeneration

Good Morning.

Fresh off of his highly acclaimed, early 2007 release of "The Doctor's Advocate" is The Game, with his newest LP "L.A.X". Despite all of the past year's drama that Jayceon [The Game] Taylor has faced, from serving jail time, on and off again beef with the overly mentioned, 50 Cent, and many other rap peers, it seems that The Game has still made his purpose clear by continuing to make a musical statement with his 3rd album since first being known to the world in 2005.

The album insufficiently begins, with an odd interlude in which the eccentric, DMX, sheds some divine intervention through a prayer that involves high animosity, and great shouting unto the Devil (In Jesus' name of course Earl Simmons is repeating over and over). Following the strange intro track, is a very profanity-laden, and high violence promoting duet which features The Game and Ice Cube. Very great song that fits into The Games caliber as a "Gangster Rapper", gearing us for another all inclusive, 100% raw, NWA (N*ggas With Attitude) style, content on the album. I also gave notice to a very interesting track entitled "Lord let me Live" featuring Chrisette Michelle, in which it seems as if The Game studied to flow of Nas, in his 1996 classic "If I Ruled The World" featuring Lauryn Hill. In some points of the song, you would start to believe that it was NAs that was recording the track, due to such the similar sound a like. Other key tracks that deserves a great sense of notoriety [in my opinion of course] would have to be his leading single "Dope Boys" featuring the head knocking, snare driven, cymbal bashing, former Blink 182 drummer extraordinaire, Travis Barker. Some others include, "Gentleman's Affair" featuring crooner Ne-Yo, the awfully [in a good way] infectious "Bulletproof Diaries" featuring the great Raekwon Da Chef and, unarguably the best song on the album would have to be the emotionally inspiring dedication to Martin Luther King and, the many involved in the Civil right movement "Letter to the King", featuring none other than Nas.

Although it is unfortunate that there is an incredible and usual amount of featured artist on this album, I'm still surprised with myself that I find this album to be very solid, and very entertaining for listeners, who plan on giving an ear or two. Although The Game lyricism has not completely elevated from its redundant habits, much credit has to go The Game for being an all around, complete student of the Hip-Hop/ Rap culture. It is a hard task, to be able to yet discover your own natural flow as a rapper, follow the formats of many of the peers who inspire (or inspired) you, make their style your own style, and have the talent to create three consecutively solid albums in a time where many argue that "Hip-Hop is Dead". I'm glad to see that The Game has understood his upbringing into the culture but, I can't wait until he has the complete ability to create a solid LP, without recreating another rappers flow, and using his own. 2 away from The Glory, 3 lights.

Mine was DOPE! I spent the Friday night at my resident spot in Long Island called The Crazy Donkey (and yes I am actually surfing the web and blogging from the club HAHAHA, the life of a promoter). It was a real cool night, fly ladies, great food, fun, and of course great memories ;).

Then on the Sunday night, Me and some of my boys invaded the Hampton's, and went to White House Nightclub. The night was okay a couple of fights, lost phone incidents, and a cliche, synonymous, question that many call a "Pick Up Line" , brought a life time of a friendship :-).

"Excuse me but, do you know what time it is?!"

I'm sorry that I haven't been on the blog so heavily theses past weeks. Classes have just began this week again [sigh], and I've just been so busy with so much on my end. Anyway, earlier this week [Wednesday to be exact] I got the chance to check out Nas' "free" live concert performance at Webster Hall, in part of Samsung's "Summer Krush" series. I was very excited about the show for two reasons, One: I'm a fan of Nas, and of his live performances, and two: I had V.I.P. status for the evening thanks to a very impromptu email I received the evening prior to the event [Thank You].

Although there was a pretty hefty wait time before Nas came out to perform, It indeed was worth the wait. Nas come outs as the true New York, Hip Hop swagger, laden with an Olympic "Dream Team" Varsity jacket, complimenting with a matching t-shirt, some blue jeans and very classics Air Force 1's [Layman's terms for "Uptowns"]. Nas delivered a very strong performance. His live rock band was very good as well. In my opinion, the definite highlight of Wednesday's show was, the 9 minute set of nostalgia as Nas performed all of the popular song's from the ever-so-pugnacious, cult classic album that is, "Illmatic".

As you already know, I am always equipped to document a live performance that I am attending, as I did for Wednesday's show and it seems to be getting me very far. Most of my youtube footage's and Photograph's, have been embedded on some very popular blog sites. One of my videos, have even made its way onto Nas' official Def Jam page recapping the event, with a visual retrospect. I told these dudes I'm not playing ... Just get ready.

So from the bottom and, on the behalf of My Heart, I would like to thank the following people/ blogsites for showing me the love:

I know a lot of you guys are thinking "Why did he take forever to blog about this?!" but, the great lord said "Patience is a virtue" and, indeed, do I ever-so-agree. I intentionally waited one full week before unveiling the pictures that I took because I wanted to see what other fans would've brought to the table (when speaking of pictorial recap of the Glow in the Dark tour etc.). I searched all over the net, high and low, from Google to, Flickr, Vimeo, YouTube, and Photobucket for anything that deserves an honorable mention next to the raw shots (I even Sh*ted on these fools with my iPhone pics fam, arrogance and, passion could be a deadly quality sometimes) and, superb (my new friend get use to that one ... just like "indeed" LOL) video footage (On YouTube ... Do check WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/ERNESTIME... shameless plug) and I was quite disappointed to find that there was not even one that deserves any high praises, or even an honorable mention. I mean like damn, I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN PAID FOR THESE PICS. LOL, (*Humility Ernest, humility indeed). With that said, I've combined some pictures from both of the shows (8.5.08 & 8.6.08) from the incredibly eclectic, Glow in the Dark tour (minus Rihanna). This tour is definitely one of the greatest events I ever got to be apart of and, witness. I'm happy that I will always have the ability relive each moment, with and from, a journalistic disposition. I also have a new Flickr (MY FLICKR.)account which a gallery of pictures for your viewing pleasure if you feel inspired to and, enjoyed the small number of pics I posted up on this "handy-dandy" blog (TRUST I HAVE MORE !!!). Thank You, keep eating those carrots so you can see the BIGGER picture :-)

MSG FLOOR SETS BOTH EVENINGS (Thank You).

So yesterday, I got my hands on my newest gadget; the Sony "Cyber - shot DSC - H50" digital camera ... (In layman's terms - Some fly a** SHEEEZZZZ) LOL.

Photobucket

This bad boy is stacked with 9.1 mega pixels, 15X optical zoom, and Smile shutter feature (camera detects the person smiling and automatically takes picture if on the feature setting), lens hood, strap etc... (to make it look like of of them official photographer joints) and the above and beyond is ... get this - a 3.0" TILTING LCD monitor. Yes it is as expensive as it looks.

I can only imagine just how fly, the footage from Kanye's concert will be on this ;-).

Oh yea ... I almost forgot ...

Okay ... So I'm not really fond to blogging about fashion and the [Fresh] lifestyle but, if we must ... (LOL) I guess its only so right since the store that I bought these bad boys from, are celebrating their 2nd year in business.

Sneaker Bistro Boutique (open since June 2006), Has become a leading supplier for high demands of vintage, high-end, collectible sneakers, clothing, and accessories in the eastern end of Patchogue, Long Island. Giving almost a city-like feel for youth around the area, who are apart of the new wave in urban fashion and it's complementary lifestyle. Hosting many events which have many "sneaker-heads" willing to wait in line from 2am or so, in order to solidify their slot for a stab at the limited release shoes that most fein for.

With a name like the "Sneaker Bistro", it almost feels as if you would be stepping into a fine, dine cuisine. Lavish tables, menu chalkboards, and an "italian-like" restaurant brick wall, and mahogany furnishings, represents the theme and decorative construction of the boutique (accompanied to the HD flat screen television which shows nothing but episodes from get this ... The Food Network).

Store owners Joe [Mr. Bistro] and Matt [The Capo] are not your usual sneaker boutique "owners". They treat each customer who walks into their store, as if it were their first day open for business, no matter the age young or old (just last week, Joe served an elderly customer of fresh pair of Reebok pumps). Whether coming down just for a nice conversation about their very interactive Blog [shameless plug], or either to "Get served up", The Sneaker Bistro Boutique is definitely the place to check out !

I just went over to the bistro after a very notable hiatus [broke-phi-broke] LOL ...

And I copped these 2 Nike Dunk's ...

FOR RETAIL PRICE !!!
