A white Halloween

Melind and my self spent Halloween and the days before in the high peaks of NY state. We did not come to a place of snow covered ground or did we come expecting to see any but as it came down that night days before Halloween we found out that Melinda's car was almost not a match for this powder suger snow storm, as we passed abandon car by abandon car trying to stay in the path of the tires of the car ahead of us.

The snow mixed with bits of autumn foliage that still hung from the branches with  untouched snow coving the earth below gave us a very un-New Jersey nightmare before Christmas land scape that would become a Halloween that we never would soon forget.

On the day of Halloween like the days before we went trampling threw the woods of up state New York looking for water falls ans such as well as a walk threw of a dilapidated home, as you will see below.

Photos are not placed chronological order

Enjoy...

Soul of the Machine performed live at Skully’s on March 26, 2008.
With an Artshow
by KirE Hughes
www.archaicexpression.com

You guys might remember me talking about a Ohio Industrial music/ Art Show show
that I was going to be part of...Well that night one of the other bands that were also playing the same night shot some video of the show and this is what you get.

They are planing at this time to do some more shows like this in the future but to the best of my knowing, there are no dates as of yet. I will be sure to keep you guys posted . But if you want to check out the band or see their live shows that my work is not in...Then check them out
the Soul of the Machine

The video is taken as a boot leg so don’t expect it to look professional grade. At times it will go out of focus and part of my art will but cut off. The Images they use is from a disc I sent David (Soul of the Machine’s front man) of high format prints. A lot of the work is taken from my book and prints that did not make the book. Some of the shots have been cropped by them for the show...

(For more about the book or this live show see my last blog)

In the order as they were played:

"I Can’t Fix the World..." Live
..

"Strichnyne" live at
..

Untitled Song Live
..

"X-Dream" live
..

The Book can be found and only be found at my Wedpage...

This book is some thing I have wanted to do for a while now and now that I finally got it done, I am in love with it. This book isnt about making money...The book is pricey but most of it is the cost of the book. My Net profit is only 5$ every time some one buys a book or it would be. Keeping in mind that I am giving people free shipping and handling...So that brings it close to nil but after the CD and stickers and pins I am in fact losing money...
Why I'm I doing this...
Simple, I want to share my art work with the once who respect it.
Some copies have already been sent...My Girl friend Melinda has book 2 while Ginger has Book3! If you ordered a book its on its way to your mailbox. Please tell me what you think about the book...Posts your reviews here!!!

Art of the rejects!
The next step in publishing is the Art of the rejects magazine!
For those of you who are not familiar with my hosting
of this project...
...Take a look...
The Art of the rejects...

I am looking for artists of any medium that wish to be published...
Writers/Painters/Sculptors/Collage/Blood letters
and yes even music or noise
(I plan on having a free compulsion CD with the magazine.
Art house spoken word, Experimental, Ethereal, Glitch,
Ambient.)

The art dose not need to look like mine...We are trying to get a good mix of artists...We are looking for the mind altering, dark or morbid, experimental and the uncanny...Dont be scared, just message me and leave a link to your art (more art to show me the better) .

________________________________________________
Archaic Expression...
if you been there before you should notice...It has been completely redone!
Well almost completely..."The art show" albums are kinda of out of date but soon everything will have a new look to it.
But more important then the new look (please feel free to tell me how you think it looks) Is that it has a link to the new cafe press site for my art!.
Lots of good stuff there so take a look!

KirE's art on Cafe Press!...

As you might have glanced over above!
The new way over due
Mute Girl's Tongue
album is out and if you buy the book ( as I said before ) You get the CD free.
Why?
Well in the book I go over many of my mediums but some thing
was missing...Yes yes...Mute Girl was missing. So now you can
get a taste for all my art forms.!
And after all its the least I could do
to show you my respect for your support of
this starving artist!
Even if I am making zip on this...

A little about the album:

The Sound of my Dear one
The third mute girl album

1. Improve no.1

2. A river in the woods

3. Wisteria

4. Poisoned Fields

5. Messiah Sits

6. Cellar Child

7. Sitting up with the dead

8. Drain Chasers Pt.2 (Oblivion)

9. Drain Chasers Pt.1

10. a hymn to dust Pt.2

11. a hymn to dust Pt. 3
(Sitting up with the dead, first version)

12. The Misanthrope

This album is four years in the making!
The first track I finished for the CD was
February 7th of 2004. There are many reason it took so long.
Drama, No Computer, Okay I got one...ooopppsss it dosnt want to work. Alright its working but now I have no hard drive space. Got a new computer but end up loosing data and tracks. At times I was loosing faith it was ever going to make it to the burner. It is hard making music the way I do and trying to make a sound of what I was feeling four years ago but I do feel I made a nice bridge and the end result we have a nice flow to the album.
The Sound of my dear one is unlike "Gnostic Child" (First album) or "Cadaver" (2nd album). Its painful , its rage, fear, mind altering its spiritual and laced with abandonment. The album dips into some of the most bleak music to date from "mute girl", a little spoken word, drones and even goes into a kinda of upbeat dance in a "mute girl" cellar industrial noise kinda of way...This album is not a sneak peak at the new sound of "mute girl" but just a detour, each album stands out on its own.. This is one
experimental project that plans on always living up to its title. All and all I am very happy with the out come of this project. However a lot of tracks didnt make it to the album...Some of it due to time issues, others no longer fit the flow of the CD. So I have decided to make a CD of the reject tracks from past albums.

I plan on making some shorter CDs maybe a EP or two maybe make a free download album on my site as well as on the "mute girl" Myspace page, a highlight CD (Greatest Hits) is planned after the next few EPs. ...Ideas for a DVD are still up in the air as to when ill start it and the V.M.A. side project is already on the way but is not being rushed at all but a Myspace page for the side project is not far behind.
And let it be known that there are now mute girl
T-shirts...It can be found on the cafe press page.

And last but not least a art show!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The band Soul of the
Machine will be hosting a night of industrial bands and independent artists. The way I under stand it each band has an artist and there work will be projected on to the stage during there show! My art will be headlining along with the music of Soul of the Machine! I am very excited about this show! If you are in the area or can make the show this is a can not miss one of a kind show that you need to see! If my work, car and money will allow it ill make the drive and be there in person. I would love to see you out there!

Check them out!

Me and Melinda  took a trip up to Baldwinsville, NY, to see my dear friend Ginger...Gin and I have a long history together. Ginger (or Amanda) and I met in 1997 over the web after she commented on one of my older webpages that has long since turned to cyder dust. We dated off and on about five times. Fourth girl friend I ever had, first girl I ever loved. Over the years are friendship has been dragged, torn to shreds, ripped from limb to limb but would never die. We still despite everything in the past are still the best of friends. Ginger will always be apart of my life...

A storm was following us up from NJ and stuck with us for the trip...Every day we were there it snowed in Baldwinsville. It was a beautiful site but hell to drive in....Melinda did the driving (bless her little heart), do to the fact we took her car and she know better then me how to handle it. How ever Melinda does get kudos for knocking down one mail box (Ginger's mom's Mail box) and getting stuck in the snow in a long drive way up to a farm (long story but that one was not her fault)...

Melinda my dearest girl friend and Ginger hit it off as if they been friends for years and as you might have guessed we went trampling around taking a mass photos and here they are...

Thought I would share these shots with you....

Earlier today me and Melinda went to an abandon diner. This was a first for me. I seen abandon Churches, a few Factories, Barns, Schools, and homes a plenty but never a diner. It was a tad hard getting in but I was dressed for climbing on top of ruins, the thorn bushes and running under gates. Sad to say Melinda was not and her legs were bleeding by the time we got done with are little shoot. It was a small place but it really had its charm..As you may be able to tell I was in love with the windows on the diner door...

Please feel free to tell me what you think

The following is a ruff draft of a collage i am working on...Nothing is glued in place and it is far from done but I feel I needed to rid some demones and at the same time I can not rush the finished work...The collage has been a dear project I had on my mind for a long while now but due to the events of the last few days it takes a duel meaning...Its now part requiem

a world we never belonged to

(ruff draft version)

A poem I wrote last night...It just might be a ruff draft....Not sure what I think of the finished work...

"Who are you?"

In a open field of angel trumpets.

her scream bellows,

from the pit of her cavum.

Her throat a catacomb of dead whispers.

Chapped lipped, backwards speech....

Postmortem fluid spew out as words.

Coffee ground emesis, splashing in the puddles,

turn a charcoal black in the shadow of a moonless

winter night.

My stillborn soul mate...

surely there's a grave for her.

I know your body lies some where in these fields.

As the last frame of film is over espoused in grain...

Trailing a cadaver so eloquently dancing among

the flowers...flowers so white.

Drip, dripping, holding a heart.

Cocooned, I hold my only valentine.

Wrapped and smothered.
