ok, let me state that i'd never ask for a thing for myself....tis not

my style.

... now, i've caught a good amount of flak around this 'winter holiday

season' for being a member of the scarlet letter crew --_*)  (if you

don't know, don't worry about it)

....i've been accused of being selfish & self centered.....

let me ask you what you would do for humanity on dec 25th?  as for

myself, i've committed to volunteer from 6am-10pm dec 25th @ the

presbyterian night shelter for families (mostly children 3-11 w/

nowhere to go or nothing to eat)

..i've even caught flak from some of my scarlet letter crew....give it

a rest!!!! this is about humanity, pure & simple ... it's the largest

shelter of it's kind in the dfw area .. which makes it the place w/ the

greatest need.

...so one of my bff's gets wind of this, and donates $1000 worth of

scientific-teaching-edutainment "toys" to me to set up within their

developmental learning center....so awesome and selfless, and also a

fellow scarlet letter wearer....

...and so i came up w/ an idea ... WHAT CAN WE ALL DO FOR THESE

KIDS?!?!?!?!

.....despite our individual socio-economic status, we are ALL better

off than those unfortunate little tykes w/ NOTHING @ ALL!!!!!!!  ...

couldn't we all spare a little something?  for the children ... and for

your own sense of doing what is right!!!!!!

i am setting up an account through paypal for this purpose.  any

donations will receive a tax-deductible receipt showing where their

kindness was used, how it was used, and who benefited.   i am doing

this all by myself ... it's the humanitarian in me i suppose --_*)

CAN YOU SPARE EVEN A DIME??????!!

....i will be reposting this several times ... it's not spam, just

please message me if you want to make a difference this dec 25th.

scientific, or "edutainment" "toys" for 3-11yr olds are my primary

goal, but anything will obviously be appreciated.

happy holidays for you and your's .. however they may be defined for

you --_*)

The meaning of life has eluded so many for so long…and I often wonder why?..

You know, the universe is made up of so many elements, and believe it or not, they all balance each other out.  That is to say, if all matter were to converge into the same location, it would all combine into a perfect atomic reaction. (Eg: the big bang)

So it only stands to reason that all life originates from these same key elements manifested in various atmospheric conditions.

In this case, since we are evolved to the point of being able to manipulate our own environment almost completely, as most lower forms of life are also able to do, then it only stands to reason that the purpose of our existence in the grand scheme of things is to unbalance the universe.  .. Or rather more befitting, our purpose is to allow the universe to continually expand and evolve, and not just eventually reconverge into a singularity due to universal variants beyond normal control (black hole gravity, dark matter, etc)

So rejoice in knowing that we are truly the greatest thing in the universe, as it's our purpose, even our very duty, is to manipulate and control our universe.

...What do you all think about this concept?

i have to admit...for what seems to be the only rational choice regarding supernatural forces (as superstitious manifestations of the human imagination), i find it somewhat difficult to find other atheists/freethinkers/agnostics/etc with whom i can develop a true friendship.   personally for me, this is because i can't stand fundamentalists (including atheist fundamentalists).

i'll probably be crucified for this (ba-dum-pum-ba…), but the lack of religious tolerance in the freethought community is irrational to me.

just like no one has the right to infringe on my beliefs & philosophies...neither do i to a person of faith (superstition & irrational faith...but still that person's right)

what do you think?  (anyone that reads this.)   does anyone else think that too severe a degree of intolerance has crept into our otherwise logical & balanced philosophies?   or is the general consensus that our main goal is to eradicate all religion on this planet?

i have been a self-realized atheist since i was 8yrs old (though admittedly, I was not completely open with it until I was an adult due to fear of intolerance born from extreme ignorance [eg: "you're an atheist!?  ..."so you only believe in the devil"?, …"don't put a curse on me"!, …(and my personal favorite one to date) …"don't hang around me…you'll just draw evil to me"    …..

.....even though  i've had to deal w/ a fair amount of prejudice, i never felt that adopting the same intolerant stance would help people break down these barriers.    instead, i came to the logical conclusion that intolerance would only fuel the divide between people of different philosophies.   instead, i try to learn from anyone speaking, and only offer to educate others when they seem either willing, or confused in their own beliefs.

let's face it, the days of blind superstition are dwindling....nature will take its course, and logic will prevail in the end as it always does.

...let's stop fanaticism on all fronts...we all need to live and let live as long as the other person is willing to do the same.

....may your logic and reason prevail in all your endeavors...

to start with, a quick mea culpa for all those i may have made worry  ...i haven't been on here in awhile to update my life...so here goes ----_-

aside from school keeping me fairly busy, i've had the good fortune to be invited to the first ever international animation festival in the us. (platform animation festival in portland, or).  even better, i was a guest of my aunt patty (an animator), and bill plympton...who was the m.c for the whole festival....but he has a huge crush on my aunt...so i got to just float around from festival, to after- gallery party, to after-bar party, to the after-after 'classic arcade bar' party. (if you're ever in pdx....go to ground kontrol).  i have all kinds of pictures...i will post some...others ...well, a trusted advisor once told me that what happens in the woods stays in the woods.  might be good advice if you had half a brain ---_-  So I will speak of those things, as well as the beach party to wrap up w/ all the animators @ bill plympton's mom's house (my personal favorite....she is so sweet ----_----)

and i met several programmers as well.  i love those rare rl opportunities to meet another like yourself @ the most random of locales :)

i spent alot of time in nature, getting in touch with myself.  growing immensly as a person & human being.  truly impressed by the magnificant beauty of the pacific northwest.  the trees, mountains, rivers, lakes.....so much more impressive than any concrete spectrum i've lived in...including currently dfw.

well, one more semester of school finished, new one's already started :( ...though i am happy & quite tranquil despite this.

so how have all my wonderful friends & family been?
