Yesterday I went to the library, yes the New York Public Library. I only brought my New York state ID because being the dork I am, I called before and asked what I needed to get a library card.
After searching for 45 minutes for two books I was looking for, and numerous pages of paperwork I had to fill out, the lady behind the desk smiled at me and told me " Hm, miss, it looks like you already have a library card and you owe $ 5.25 from the year 2000." I left the library, ID in hand, with no books. Of course the one time I didn't bring money with me. . .
I have been so busy at work I haven't had time to do anything besides sleep.
I wake up at seven, spend the whole day on my feet, come home and in a trance walk right to my bed where I put my comforters over my head and fall asleep.
Waking up this early is quite difficult. Thank god this fall my first class starts at 12:30 :)

My Myspace has been down forever. I write a whole blog, it says it was posted, and of course the computer lied to me. I just wrote one, it worked, I deleted it and now I am going to write a new blog, hoping this will work.
Anyway. . Where do I begin? The last blog was after my first day of work at Vogue. It has been a long two and a half weeks, but basically, all I can say, in a nutshell is I LOVE IT. You have to start somewhere, and lets just say the photo copy machine has become one of my best friends :)
I've been writing a lot recently. Especially song lyrics. It's too bad singing doesn't come as easily as writing. My sister has the most beautiful voice so hopefully she can put together some songs. She also plays the guitar. Oh and soccer, basketball, great grades. I could go on. .
Nicky has been in the city since last Sunday. It's been a great week, even though I haven't spent a lot of time with her since we both work during the day. She's interning at Cosmopolitan! She is SUCH a cosmo girl!
She reads the magazine religiously, most of the pages filled with what do to do/ say/ not do/ not say to your man. When it comes to her own love life, like all of us, we can be so clueless. I am one to never get attached, probably because the thought of getting hurt sounds to frightening and painful. In less than one week Nicky met a guy, started to fall for him, and now is completely upset this guy is not who she thought he was. Does it help that he is ALSO my best friend? I love her to death and it kills me to see her upset over this.
I feel like an old lady. I am going out tonight like I usually would do in high school on a Tuesday night? Nope. I'm lying on my couch and will soon make it to my bed.
xo

Just took the longest bubble bath.
I had my first day at Vogue today. Amazing. The people, the atmosphere.. and of course the CLOTHING.
My eyes are closing and it's 10 PM. I'm a working girl ;) A lot of my friends are out, yes, even the ones who have work tomorrow but if I want to have energy for tomorrow, well I must get to sleep.
I can't believe just two days ago I was in Bloomington, Indiana.

Have been running around all day, trying to get ready for tomorrow, even though I don't really know what I have to do to be "prepared."
Lets see. I went shopping with my mom and grandma. I've never like shopping. It's not the shopping I don't like, since I obviously love clothing. It's the lines, the crowded narrow spaces. This is why I don't like airplanes, concerts where people are basically on top of me, and the subway during rush hour. . In the end, I got some great stuff. " Very Vogue," my grandmother and mom said.
Afterwards, I headed uptown on the one train and got my nails done and my eyebrows waxed. It was SO painful. I will never do that again.
I need to continue to unpack. . Going to see some friends later on.

After a very long day the stewardess announced " Welcome to New York."
Missed my flight this morning. I was kidding myself to think I would actually wake up at 4:30 to get to the airport. .
Spent the day at my friends house in Indianapolis, and then got to the airport at 3.
It's such an amazing feeling to be home. Being with my parents, my sister ( she is actually out right now at some trendy restaurant downtown. Yes, she is 16) and my dog who the second she saw me forgot I ever left.
I went to Indiana for this exact reason. Sometimes you have to leave and go far away to appreciate what you left.
One day before my Internship starts at Vogue.
Manhattan, I am quite excited to see what these next four months will be like. I expect it will be nothing less than amazing.

Conversation with my dad:
Dad: Hey, how's it going? Me: Fine. . Studying, you? Dad: Oh well I just woke up to the sound of the ocean. People buy machines to hear this, but yeah, I can hear the ocean right now. . Me: Okay dad, well I'm going to go back to studying now.
I am beyond jealous that he is on Martha's Vineyard right now. Life doesn't get much better when you are falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves crashing against the sand.

I have always been a fan or change. Of people doing something they never thought they would do, moving to another state or even country, becoming friends with someone they never thought they would meet.
Right now, I sit in my uncomfortable desk chair, a color of brown that is so ugly, I'm surprised I haven't thrown it out. It came with the room, so I've tolerated the color, since the chair is actually pretty comfortable.
The room is empty. My two huge suitcases sit on the floor, the white walls bare, lacking the posters that tried to make the room more vibrant, more homey.
It's 2 in the morning and I can't fall asleep.
Kate is gone. I'm not good at goodbyes.
I said I like change. I do. I like new beginnings, but not living with Kate, someone who I have become so close to is going to be hard. Really hard.
I honestly can't tell you how fast this year went. I am ready for a change of scenery, but it's going to be hard to leave this town and head back to a city that is moving every second of the day, never sleeping, never winking.
Other fellow freshman, soon to be sophomores are outside right now, smoking cigarettes, one after another. I can hear them through the thin glass that seperates me from the rest of Bloomington.
About to get into my bed, comforter packed, only a thin top sheet to keep me warm. Thank god it's warm outside right now. The breeze could almost fool you into thinking you were next to the ocean.

Because Nicky had a final today and I didn't, I told her I would be more than happy to hang out at her apartment and wait for the storage men to come pick up all of her stuff. When I say all of her stuff, I mean, right now I am sitting on her floor in her living room. Here's a visual:

All that is here is her coloring book and crayons in the corner. Oh, and yes Nicky is 21 years old.
I've had some great times in this apartment. I can't believe school is almost over.
Can't wait till September when I'm in my OWN APARTMENT!

Some girl just told me she was from New York City. I asked her where in the city. She then said, " Oh, I mean nearby in Marlboro, New Jersey" HAHA
Two more finals. Just talked to one of my best friends Lindsey who lives in the city. Of course she was shopping at Barney's. She says she's just " looking." Yeah, right.

After sitting at the library for nine and half hours, staring at an Italian textbook and 700 hundred notecards, my brain is d-e-a-d. I would love to be able speak Italian fluently, but learning in a classroom will never get me there. I must go to Italy. .
