Ok this is the new song Nick did for this guy's movie for the closing credits. I wrote the lyrics based on the movie, basically this guy breaks up with his girlfriend by hiring a hitman to pretend to kill him and his entire family in front of her so she's scared out of her mind and thinks he's dead. Really nice guy. I can sympathize with him though so I had plenty of inspiration hahahaha! Here is the link to listen! http://www.myspace.com/tampaacoustic
I Want You Out
I want you out now Why don't you get this You must leave somehow And you won't be missed I can't love ya and I don't want ya why can't you go away
All this drama and all this nagging then, you wanna stay You won't go but then I tell ya baby there ain’t no other way I gotta plan to get ya outta here and then, I'll be okay We're not together
That's what I said Just go forever I want you out now
Why don't you get this You must leave somehow And you won't be missed Ya hang around always feeling down just like some kinda stray
Ya wear me out always scream and shout and now, you're gonna pay I tried to help ya but doing that made my whole world go gray Ya better run and while you're at it hun you know, you better pray We're not together
That's what I said Just go forever We're not together
That's what I said Just go forever

So Nick's band is doing some original music. After hearing a loose melody a couple times I wrote these lyrics in like 10 minutes. Here is a super rough, thrown together copy of the song recorded on a laptop. So far it's been chosen by a director for a short film, as well as the super cool instrumental song I like. http://www.myspace.com/tampaacousticHopefully this will be the first of many songs because I love any excuse to write anything! Touch Me
when i first saw you, i saw you moving i felt the way your hands were going to touch me so i kept watching, and i kept dreaming there was nothing in this world i was more sure of
but then the days went by this wasn't what i hoped for, no just not enough to get me by, or satisfied
and when the months went by i felt the dream come crashing down without a sound, a single sound so i'll keep watching, and i'll keep dreaming i miss the way your hands were s'posed to touch me so don't you watch me, and don't be dreaming i'm used to life alone even without me

What I liked: "Twilight" is one of the best vampire movies I've ever seen! I liked the themes of self restraint, protection and trust that run through the plot. I found the relationship between Bella and Edward surprisingly romantic and sincere. I was very impressed by the maturity of the main characters and the issues they face as a couple. "Twilight" is the best movie I've seen in a long time with a target audience of young teenagers. I was worried the world was going to be overrun by "High School Musical" garbage which portrays teenagers as extremely childish and their puppy love as laughable nonsense. In contrast, the emotionally rich characters in "Twilight" capture that amazing turning point in life, that indescribable shift from child to adult, where the idealism and optimism of youth meet the ability to make those first choices that shape the life you choose for yourself. Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella, has grown so much as an actor and she contributes a lot to the success of this movie. "Twilight" also has an excellent soundtrack that added a lot to the dreamy overtones of the movie. By the end of the film I felt invested in the story and not having read the books I find myself wondering what the future holds for Bella and Edward.
What I disliked: It takes a long time for the movie to get going. The first interactions between Bella and Edward were awkward and choppy. Their time together was rushed and felt like an inadequate basis for their intense attraction and perfection together. The special effects throughout the entire movie were absolutely, inexcusably bad.
Would I recommend it? Yes I'd definitely recommend it. There are some terrific role models in this movie for young viewers.
Score: 7 out of 10

What I liked: "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" was at times cute and mildly entertaining. Nick's ex-girlfriend Tris, played by Alexis Dziena, was very funny, perky, and fun to watch. I thought Tris' jealousy of Nick trying to move on and her treatment towards her new boyfriend were the funniest aspects of the movie.
What I disliked: In the film's defense, I think I missed the target audience and that this movie would be better enjoyed by kids in high school or early college years. I felt very unmoved by the romance between Nick and Norah, especially due to an extreme lack of chemistry between them. They looked weird together and scenes of them kissing made me strangely uncomfortable. The dark, busy nightlife of New York City didn't provide a good backdrop for the blossoming romance, either. I sympathized with Nick's broken heart but felt that Norah was too frumpy, awkward and argumentative to be believably attractive to soft spoken Nick. I found Norah's drunken friend, Caroline, to be very annoying and distracting from the plot. Nick's over-the-top gay band members equally served no purpose other than to lend a real bra to seriously unfeminine Norah. I thought the dual scavenger hunt for drunken Caroline and some silly band across several nightclubs was a stupid, juvenile idea to base the movie around.
Would I recommend it? I'd recommend this movie if you're young and relatively inexperienced with relationships.

What I Liked: "Pineapple Express" is another huge Apatow Productions success! I never knew how much more enjoyable a dirty cop murder mystery could be when potheads who can barely function are the ones trying to solve the crimes! Ordinarily this type of plot combined with nonstop violence bores me to death, but this movie is so silly and fun it actually kept me engaged. There are several hilarious fight scenes that are so great I keep reenacting them with my friends. The script is terrific and has a lot of memorable one-liners. Seth Rogen does well as usual. I really enjoyed seeing James Franco let loose and do such a funny, grungy role because I had gotten so tired of seeing him in these highly commercialized movies (like the "Spiderman" series) or in cheesy military roles like "Flyboys" and "Annapolis." I also enjoyed Danny McBride's performance and hope he continues to do more comedy. I love how values like friendship and loyalty make it into the movie, but as usual with Apatow Productions films the feel good mushiness doesn't come across as annoying or contrived. Shockingly, a bit of a drugs-are-bad (or at least not productive) attitude is conveyed as the lives of the main characters become really messed up. I thought this strategy was very mature and while possibly just a ploy to keep parents from getting too mad, at least it gives younger viewers something to think about.
What I Disliked: I'm sure my enjoyment of this film is limited by the fact that I have never experimented with marijuana at all. I can only relate but so much, and this probably affects how funny I think the movie is. The story takes a little while to get going, and some of the drug use scenes drag a little bit.
Would I Recommend?: I'd definitely recommend this for anyone with a good sense of humor who isn't easily offended by marijuana.

What I Liked: There is a lot more to "Hancock" than its previews let on! I think Hancock's character is a very original concept - a careless, sloppy, superhero slacker who is really just a very human person dealing with the pressures of immortality, extraordinary power, and loss of identity. Will Smith does a surprisingly decent job of evoking sympathy in a couple memorable scenes about loneliness and isolation. There are also a few very funny scenes involving the creative uses of superhero powers. The soundtrack is great and really helps to set the right mood for each scene. There was a lot more plot in store than I was expecting!
What I Disliked: "Hancock" felt like two entirely different stories squished badly into one movie. Halfway through the movie, just after Hancock cleans up his image, you realize the reason for all the weird information gaps and all the massive tension between Hancock and the wife of his public relations coach. The movie takes a dramatic turn away from what the previews lead you to expect. Instead of the two different stories complimenting one another, I feel that all the mystery ruins the first half of the movie by causing serious confusion about what's going on, as well as robbing the audience's ability to understand Hancock's character because nothing is known of his past. Once the new storyline is introduced, everything becomes very rushed in a blur of explanations and action. Too much chemistry and emotion rides on just a couple scenes and it's really not sufficient. Next thing you know, the abrupt ending leaves you feeling unsatisfied. I think "Hancock" would have been better off focusing on just one story.
Would I Recommend?: Yes, "Hancock" is an ok way to pass the time if you're in the mood for a light hearted superhero movie without a lot of violence – at least compared to similar movies. Just don't expect any emotional fulfillment!

What I Liked: Harrison Ford seemed a lot more mentally competent as a human being in this movie, ever since "Hollywood Homicide" I was worried he needed to be checked into a nursing home and possibly tested for Alzheimer's. It was nice to have Marion Ravenwood back. The stunt work was good. The scary ant scenes were particularly terrifying for me, although that could be attributed more to my fire ant allergy than the actual special effects or acting ability.
What I Disliked: Parts of this movie were really dragging. I found myself having to seriously concentrate on listening to every conversation because the characters failed to give me any reason to care about them or what they were doing. The plot was extraordinarily predictable, as well as some of the most important lines. Shia LaBeouf's talent was wasted on a boring, inconsistent character that sporadically switched from bad boy to teary eyed wimp. I felt that this movie tried – unsuccessfully – to cram too much into the plot like romance, betrayal, over-the-top action (to be expected), insanity, humor, and the tidy resolution of loose ends from the past. Overall, I thought the outcome was a huge letdown. The moral of the story was that knowledge is a "treasure" – seriously?! How convenient that this coincides with LaBeouf's character's need to finish school so his lost, motorcycle-repairing soul can be saved by knowledge. Was this sponsored by some kind of stay in school public service announcement?! If I wanted to hear a message that rife with sickening cheesiness I could watch "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" instead of sitting through hours of senseless adventure footage.
Would I Recommend?: I would only recommend this movie to huge Indiana Jones fans; otherwise you will probably be very bored.

What I Liked: To my relief, "Leatherheads" had a surprisingly small amount of actual football footage. The romance between George Clooney and Renee Zellweger was fun, adorable and innocent in a way that can only be gotten away with in a movie set in the 1920s. I admired Renee Zellweger’s performance as the confident feminist. I liked seeing the unruly, unglamorous side of professional football in the days before it was a national craze. The typical cheesiness of feel good sports movies felt mildly more appropriate and tolerable when set in this time period.
What I Disliked: Overall, "Leatherheads" was a very forgettable movie. There was nothing very inspiring or interesting to take away from it. At times, particularly during the scenes without Renee Zellweger, the mediocrity and lack of depth were unbearable.
Would I Recommend?: I’d recommend "Leatherheads" only if you’re a huge fan of vintage music, clothes, vocabulary, and culture, since you will be completely immersed in this throughout the film. Otherwise, I think viewers will struggle to find anything to care about or relate to in this movie.

What I Liked: "Semi-Pro" had a couple memorable scenes that I loved. My favorite scene was a very off the wall anti gun safety shooting spree with a supposed unloaded gun which of course ended up in an accidental shooting. I'd say this is the best comedy of the year so far.
What I Disliked: Sadly, "Semi-Pro" did not live up to my very high expectations. As a huge Will Ferrell fan, I've been longing for one of his movies to match (or top) my favorites, "Talladega Nights," "Old School," and "Zoolander." "Semi-Pro" was stupid, to be expected, but for me it lacked the outrageous, over-the-top quality that allows Will Ferrell to do his best acting. The script was way too tame for me. The cheesy, typical sports plot really stunted the movie's ability to do new things. For all the "sexiness" in the advertising of this movie, Will Ferrell did not get sexy or unclothed at all! A lot of scenes held a lot of potential, such as the bear vs. Will Ferrell fight in the ring, but ended up being very anticlimactic. In the film's defense, a lot of the jokes may have gone straight over my head, like the "jive turkey" scene, because it takes place in the 70s and I wasn't even alive yet. The 70s soundtrack was also killing me, possibly causing me to tune out parts of the movie. It's very possible that people older than me would enjoy the movie more.
Would I Recommend?: I'd recommend "Semi-Pro" to major Will Ferrell fans, but general audiences might be bored.

What I Liked: I thoroughly enjoyed U2 3D! This was my first 3D concert and it was indescribable! I felt as if I was literally on stage with the band! I could actually feel the energy of the audience! I definitely prefer this over physically being at a concert live! It was so nice to hear the music without all the distortion and crowd noise. It was great seeing the show from different angles, swooping in and out of the crowd and all around each band member. There are plenty of close ups that bring you much closer than any live performance could ever get you. The 3D overhead shots were stunning and would obviously be impossible to recreate in person. The visuals and sound quality were just amazing. What I loved most about U2 3D is that it's full of fast paced, nonstop music without any boring behind-the-scenes footage or band interviews. I really hope more bands do this type of concert recording because I love it!
What I Disliked: At one point Bono flaps his arms gracefully as if he's a bird in slow motion. Very un-cool. U2 3D loses a point for that. Bono randomly explores homoeroticism with the bassist, Adam Clayton, including a caress of the face and a kiss on the lips. It's possible this happens at all their concerts and I'm completely ignorant, but it just sort of startled me and seemed out of place in the middle of trying to rock out. There was also no love for the guitarist, The Edge! I'm all for being open but I was unprepared for the dramatic display of love. After all, with the 3D I felt like I was right there having a threesome with them, which quite frankly is gross. Another point lost. Bono watered down some of the vocals at times, which I suppose is to be expected in any concert in general so he won't lose a point for that. Finally, I got tired of U2's message about religious and political coexistence. I do admire the message but sometimes I just want to rock out for the sake of the music, not for an agenda. When they used the song "One" as an analogy for the similarities between Argentina and Ireland I was a little offended by the stretch of the imagination there. Please let the song be what the lyrics are actually about, or let the song be what I want it to be about, but please don't disgrace the song by having it mean eight thousand different things depending upon which political message you're trying to get across that night. Another point lost for messing up "One."
Would I Recommend?: Yes, this is a must see for all U2 fans!
Score: 7 out of 10
