A Legacy of Rage~~~ So it begins.
They moved as wolves too a kill, stalking and hating. Waiting for that one moment, that one perfect moment, when she would fall. Whimpers fell and cries echoed too masked faces, shadows danced against the moonlit trees like ghosts. Herding and keeping her moving, wearing her down. Boot’s hit the ground, branches broke beneath them. Shadows leapt over downed trees with skill. Flashlights cut through the forest like beacons as they moved in. Hoots and hollers echoing through the woods as ghostly reminders of what was hunting her.
Her body bruised and bleeding, she dropped to her knees. Blood ran a steady stream down the front of her face, attracting hungry insects, as she batted them away. Her terrified eyes gazed out into the dark, searching for them as they approached. “Why me why me?” she whimpered over and over as she pushed her exhausted body into the brush, trying to hide. She froze as footsteps crushed the thick cover of leaves and brush. The shadow of a man as he searched for her. “Come on out, angel. We know you’re here somewhere sweetheart. You can‘t hide from us forever.” She gazed up at him from under the brush, his breathe showing with every exhale from the mask. Flashlights flashed behind him, giving him a eerie glow. “I can wait a long time. But, you’re bleeding. You’ll attract every bear, wolf and mountain lion that gets a whiff of that sweet blood of your’s. Is that how you want too die? To be eaten alive? I’ll tell you what. You come out now and I’ll take you home. We’ll forget all about this.” his charm slid from his lips like venom. She knew he was lying. “It’ll be so much worse on you if the others get too you first. You know that.”
She trembled and whimpered, then froze. Hoping he hadn’t heard her. He hadn’t. He rolled his head back and cracked his neck, his hand grinding on the handle of baseball bat. “Okay. Have it your way.” he chuckled and began too walk away. “You’ll wish you had taken me up on my offer.” She watched as he disappeared into the surrounding woods. Her hand pushing her sweat soaked hair aside as she cautiously moved out from the undergrowth. Trying to breathe as her lungs began feel crushed, brush tore into already bruised torn flesh, burning and stinging, as sweat rolled into the open wounds.
He chuckled as he gazed down at her, startling her. Swinging the bat, leaning on it as more shadows approached, swinging the bat up across his shoulders, gripping it with both hands. “I told you, you were mine.” She jumped as she gazed up and behind herself too see him standing there. He jumped down as she scrambled up to her feet and stumbled, turning to face him. “I expected more from you. For you to be smarter than this. I guess I expected too much.” He swung out at her, she stumbled back as the end of the baseball bat just missed her. Then the wind it created moved passed her face, making her jump. “Move faster.” he swung at her again with a cocky chuckle. She jumped back, her chest heaving hard. “Much better. Ready? This time I bet you go down.” he made a false move, startling her again. “Jumpy are we.”
“Let me go home.” she cried out, terrified.
“Sure. Anytime you want.” Moody grinned under the mask, his long wavy dark hair flying out in the breeze. “How do you want too go?” she choked hard as he moved closer. The others stood silent as they watched them.
“I won’t tell. I promise.” she begged him, cautiously raising her hand to him. “I won’t tell.”
“No. You won’t.” he swung out with horrific force, smashing her hand. The sound of her bones breaking as she screamed and hit the ground, holding her broken arm. Her cries became riddled with pain and fear, almost screaming at times as they watched her suffer. Moody walked up and stared down at her. “Time too go home.” he growled, suddenly swinging the bat with ferrous force.

September 16, 2008 - Tuesday

The 9Th Day is about as original as I have ever seen in print. I went into this thinking, oh God another Saw or another Hostel. It couldn't be further from them and far better then they are. It takes turn after turn, mesmerizes and seduces you into reading further. Haunts your mind and stays with you all day until you get home, and have to pick it up to just see what happens next. It just gets in your blood. There's no way to explain it.

I can't remember a book that I have read, to this day that can do that to me, except for this one. It's amazing and so real it's terrifying. I could feel the blood, and the bullets. I could feel the punches and the pain, even the sex left me just hot! I recommend The 9Th Day to everyone, you want a book that keeps you stuck inside it, get this book! It's just amazing! Men and women alike will love it, it's action, horror, thriller, a bit of comedy and so unbelievably erotic and sexy! My God even the bad guys are HOT! Get the book! Read something out of the ordinary! I still can't breathe and I can't stop living it!

There is a legacy to the name, there is suffering that is embedded inside it. I saw the truth in my own eyes and yet it is blurry and confusing in my mind. Empty eyes stare back and I know it isn't over, that all the pain created and the nightmares that spread, will always be a part of our lives. How can I live with the truth of what I have become, if all I ever was, was what they made me. One man's legacy to another mans rage. I was, I am, I always will be the first victim to The 9Th Day, that nightmare continues in A Legacy of Rage.

The 9Th Day continues with book two, The 9Th Day: A Legacy of Rage.

If you haven't read the first book, get it now before the second hits this winter. It's a saga unlike anything you have ever read. Huh Dani.

Never have I seen a book that carries you from beginning until the end, keeping you're heart racing long after it's over. I went from being happy, horny, to pissed off and crying. How the hell did you accomplish such a piece of work? It is amazing as I watched the story unfold in my mind, like I was sitting at a movie theater. I was one moment there with her, watching every moment, then I was her. I could feel the blood, the pain and desperation. All I can say is get the book! I'm reading it again just because I couldn't get enough of it. I have been living in The 9TH Day since the moment I picked it up. You will to! Get it! You will never see this book in a second hand shop, it's keeper! I gotta tell you, I hate slasher crap, but this book is so much more. Great job! I'm ready for the second!

 "I'm dying"

"They haunt me… They hunt me… They tell me… Take the blows… Swallow the blood... Break my bones... Take the pain… Scream for me… Love me… Beg me... Beat me… Rape me... Cut me… Bleed me... Hate me... Bury me... I'm yours."

Her body lay silent on an bed of congealing blood now. Dressed in torn and bloody black overalls, battered and bruised flesh peeking through the rips and tears. She shook as he gently leaned over and lovingly kissed her pale, quivering bloody lips. Her chest rose and fell radically as she struggled to just breathe. Blood and mucus bubbling slowly out of her nose with every ragged, exhale. He knelt gently on the bed beside her, slowly touching her face with his fingers, feeling the trembling flesh of her cheek and lips.

"A year ago we met and now I wish we had more time," He whispered and smiled so warm. "I can't save you Tessa, but can release you from all your pain." He gazed down at her face, almost hypnotized by her struggle. He kissed her again, moving slowly over her motionless lips almost inhaling the kiss as he reached down and lifted the mask that lay beside him. He held it in his hand as he finished her last kiss then sat up and grinned down at her. Her body shook and arched as she struggled against the horrific pain of battered and broken bones. "Shh…..," he cooed her, running a finger tenderly over her lips. He lifted the mask and placed it carefully on her terrified face. "It's over now. You are the end."

"No," a breathless whisper rose from the mask as her head rolled slowly back and forth.

He slowly stood up and remained at the edge of the bed for a moment, his dark eyes stared down at her as he watched her weakly struggle under the mask with a smile.

She gasped and painfully struggled as blood foamed up out of her throat and ran down the side of her mouth, forcing her to breath in painful gurgling gasps. The pitiful weak cries were staggered by choking on the blood and too soft for any one to hear. Tears slid from her bruised eyes and she could hardly move anymore as she gradually started to fade. There were no screams, just whimpered cries muffled by the mask, her heart beat ebbing within her dying body.

Her life would soon end; a brutal destiny that was not supposed to be hers but had become hers, nevertheless, with a slice of a knife. Her eyes growing so afraid and distant as her body trembled in an unforgiving and deep relentless pain, exhausting her will to fight much more. The deep pain in her chest sharpened as she gradually suffocated in her own body fluids with every labored breath. She stared out at the room before her as it tunneled and darkened; I know this room, she thought as her dying thoughts rambled from distant memories to her grim reality. Tessa let out a weak cry that no one would ever hear.

"Wait."
