EZ all!

Following the vinyl last month, the last release on 7even Recordings by HELIXIR is now available as a digital format.

Here at last, the third release on 7even Recordings from the ever versatile HELIXIR. There’s a massive buzz around this French producer right now, after his now sold out ‘Narcotik Dub/Springz & Wires’ 12” and the more recent floor-killers ‘Helicraft/Dub 4 P.’

Navigating easily through styles, HELIXIR returns this time with two super-heavy dub cuts, proving again his mastery of sound manipulation combined with an ear for massive hooks. ‘XP Dub’ and ‘Peace Dub’ offer two slabs of heavy, minimal dub tech-influenced brilliance. A 4/4 drop, ultra deep basslines and smoked-out synths all make this killer 12” an essential addition to 7even’s ever-impressive back catalogue. HELIXIR just cannot fail to impress right now!

Big up F and Rama!

Piccadily Records

The most exciting techno releases this week all crossover with dubstep, reggae or electronica. The second "All Night Long" 12" is dubstep artists doing techno, Sven Weisemann follows the dub-tech path, as does Shed remixing Peverlist and Scuba remixing Jus Wan, FaltyDL is all over the place (ROTW in electronica), but best of all is the Ramadanman rework of F. It's the new 'funky' sound (see house intro - I'm not going over that again) applied to techno, and it's ace!

EZ all!

F is back for his third twelve on 7even Recordings!

'The second single from F on French label 7even Recordings has slowly burnt a white hot hole in the dubstep-techno radar alongside the utterly blistering first instalment from last year.' - Resident Advisor

After only two releases on 7even Recordings F has already made huge waves on the scene with his unique sculpted approach to Dubstep and Techno.

Now he's back with a cut which offers a glimpse at a different side to his productions; Dub Techno styled A-side 'Epilogue' comes correct, displaying what is clearly a long time love and appreciation of this music. Clean production and atmospheric textures create the backdrop for a distant beat which drills into the psyche, making for a deep 4/4 journey trawling through the late night in a smoky haze.

On the B-side, Ramadanman weighs in with a rework which absolutely slays. You could call it Garage, you could call it Dub-Tech, but this track is so fresh, we're sure it'll have the funky house heads on their hands and knees as much as the Dubstep crowd, dark as hell too - a total crossover. Shit is tight, yo!

Already supported by Mary Anne Hobbs and Rob Booth amongst others, this release also featured in the 7even mix for The Experimental Show on BBC Radio One in January 2009.
Another fresh direction for the 7even label, but still holding the same unique vibe.

Boomkat says:
"F's small handful of records for the 7even imprint have left a sizeable indent on the dubtech subgenre. You'd be hard pushed to find a tighter blend of influences from Basic Channel and Shackleton than his 'Untitled Dub' but it seems he's had enough of the 140bpm thing for now anyway, as he looks towards good ol' fashioned dub techno on 'Epilogue'. Judged as such this is a prime entry into the field, carrying over the shuffled and constantly morphing drums of his dubstep tracks into a deep and atmospheric 4/4 roller sounding like it's been plucked from the Chain Reaction archives. Ramadanman's rerub on the flip should catch the attention of a few heads too with it's near-Funky snare patterns married to offset bass bumps and oscillating synthlines creating an infectiously swung riddim set to make waves in the scene. Essential tracks. Recommended!"
