October 04, 2008 -
Right now you are surrounded by so many people that you might feel a bit claustrophobic -- but these people really are looking out for you, so why don't you rely on them a little bit more than you have been? They will play a vital role in helping to turn your dismal outlook into a more positive one. Not only will they help you see the glass as half full, they will help you figure out a way to fill it even higher! So reach out and ask for help -- even if you don't think you need it, you could use some. Wow, I am feeling like this, and I know that everyone is being really great and trying to help me.. and I have been pushing them away...
Love all my friends!

Hello All! The job is going well. The previous person left early and I am trying to get everything under my belt. It is a great group of people. Friendly, small office, only 9 or 10 of us. So it is GREAT! Today, I spent putting Bottles of wine a 4th of July look with ribbon and stuff and then delivered them to our clients in the Financial District.
I hope that I am able to keep up with all the work. Just new, and some things needs to be updated. Which I love!!
Hugs!
P~

Category: Life
Hello Everyone! It certainly has been a while since I WROTE an actually update on where and how my life is going. So, here it is:
1st: Yes, I am single. Tim and I broke up after many years of being together. We ended on a good note, and actually are still living together until and speaking. I think that we are being nicer to each other then we have in a long time. I know that most of our issues were/are my fault - He is an amazing, kind, sweet, caring guy. I think that being friends will be good for us right now. It is odd to think that I may not see him everyday and spend time with him.
2nd: I have an interview on Tuesday at 10am at a firm in SF's Financial District for accounting/Office Management position. I have my fingers crossed, cause seriously I NEED TO WORK. I hate not working. It sucks! I am bored way too much and also have really odd sleeping habits. I want to have a normal healthy life again!
3rd: Buddhism - I think that I would not be able to live or leave the apartment if I had been introduced to Buddhism at this point in my life. It is something that I can truly see myself being involved in for years. Oddly if you consider how anti-religion I was (or rather anti-structured religion). I have met the most amazing group of kindhearted and just awesome people in a very long time.
You all (or most) know that there was a time not so long ago that I would barely leave my apartment besides to go to work or errands. Friends knew that if you want to see Patrick - you come to his place to hang. I was in a state of doubtfulness in my life that just left me unmotivated to do anything. I am moving pass that and working on being outgoing and open to new things. So many things in my life have changed in the past 4-6 months that sometimes I still have days where I do not want to chant or get out of bed - but they are far fewer then before.
Hugs to all.

We need to cultivate the spirit to live with self-assurance, to make our way joyously through life. We practice this faith precisely to forge such a strong and vibrant inner resolve.

Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda Saturday, May 17, 2008 "Don't be dependent on anyone"-this is my sentiment. We each have to strengthen and develop ourselves through our own efforts. We must never surrender to any foe or difficulty. We must be fearless. This is the true spirit of self-reliance. ________________________________________________________________ I was having a little bit of a hard day, and reading the Daily Encouragement helped me to realize that being dependent on others for your happiness is not really taking control of your life and your own environment. Chanting is such a positive way to spend my time and also having a group of people that are kind, intelligent, and devoted to their faith.
Now all I need is to find a job, and all will be good.

Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda Sunday, April 27, 2008 Age is not an excuse for giving up. If you allow yourself to grow passive and draw back, it's a sign of personal defeat. There may be a retirement age at work, but there is no retirement age in life. How then could there be any "going into retirement" in the world of faith? The Buddhist Law is eternal, extending across the three existences of past, present and future, and one of the benefits of faith is perennial youth and eternal life. These excerpts are from "For Today and Tomorrow," a book of daily inspirationals by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. This book is available for purchase at our Online Bookstore or your local SGI-USA Community Center bookstore.

Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda
Thursday, April 24, 2008 When youth are awakened to a sense of mission, their power is limitless. Ultimately, we have to entrust our hopes and visions for the future to the youth. This is a golden rule. Youth is pure. Youth will rise up to fulfill their ideals without calculation or self-interest. The fundamental spirit of a leader must be to reach out to such young people, work with them and bring out their capabilities and direct their youthful energies in a positive direction.

Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda Sunday, April 6, 2008 There is no retirement age in faith. Sincere faith never ages. Those who exert themselves for the sake of the Law are ever young. Our heart is what matters most. Let us strive to the end of our days for kosen-rufu.
