Last night were the SAG Awards!  This was our 4th SAG nomination as a cast.  We've won twice and now we've lost twice.  I can't believe we've been going to the awards for 4 years!  It is really pretty spectacular.

I really loved my dress last night (I know, I always say that!)

Dress by Marchesa
Jewelry by Choppard
Bag by Judith Leiber
Shoes - which had little sparkles on them - by Rene Caovilla

It got me thinking about the other dresses I've worn...let's look back over the years!

SAG Awards 2007 - Our First Nomination and First Win!

SAG 2008 - Our Second Nomination and Second Win! - This was just a few months after I fractured my back.  I had very few dresses I could wear comfortably!  Thiis was the year Angela was pregnant and looked so cute in her dress.

SAG 2009 - Our Third Nomination - We didn't win...it went to 30 Rock.  This was the first year I attended the awards with Lee - we had a blast!  Me, Angela and Oscar rocked out to Single Ladies at the Weinstein after-party!  My Pamela Rolland dress was very comfortable and made it easy to dance.  I loved that necklace too!

Here is this year again - we didn't win and I didn't dance the night away.  I'm still getting over my cold.  We went to the People party and had a nice time hanging with the cast.  We met up with Rich Sommer (Mad Men), his wife Virginia and Jack McBrayer.  They are the nicest people!  After the awards Lee and I went to Fatburger and then stayed up all night watching the Australian Open!  The del Potro match was intense!  Go Roddick!

Okay, so which one was your favorite?  2007, 2008, 2009 or 2010?  I would have to vote for 2010...except it was hard to wear.  My 2009 dress was most comfy.

Oh...some other highlights from the night - I met Justin Timberlake for the first time.  He introduced himself to me backstage but I was so shy I barely said anything!  We even have a few friends in common.

I got to present for the first time!  I was so excited.  Benjamin Bratt was a great co-presenter.  We had a lot of fun planning our bit.  The winner of our category was Michael C. Hall.  When he came up to get his award I handed him the envelope and I said, "You should keep this!  It has your name on it!"  (It was something my Mom would say.)

I have to mention that I LOVED Kyra Sedgwick's Vera Wang dress...I told her this no less than 5 times last night.  Her husband Kevin Bacon gave one of the best speeches of the night.  Very touching.

Our gift bag was really cool...ever wonder what kind of stuff you get in a gift bag?  Here are a few of my favorites.

A Rich Landes Everyday T-shirt

L'Oreal 24-Hour Lash Boosting Power System - Can't wait to try this!

Celtic Sea Salt - in a really cute ceramic grinder

A Blueberry Soyjoy - I've been wanting to try these after seeing all the commercials.  I will probably eat it today.  (Update:  I ate it.  It was tasty but very dry.  You need water.  It was filling as a snack.)

A really cute homemade headband by yjy designs - YJY Designs Website

Whew!  That's it.  I'm off to get a massage and then home to watch football.  I can't decide who I'm rooting for.

Happy New Year!

This is a quick little blog to thank all of you for your sweet emails about the Golden Globes.  I'm bummed we didn't win but even more bummed that the Cowboys are out of the playoffs...it was a tough Sunday!

In case you missed it here was my Golden Globes dress - a vintage Halsten:

I loooooved this dress!  It was super-comfy.

It rained something horrible last Sunday and they didn't put a tent over the red carpet so we got SOAKED on our way into the awards.  Luckily they set up a little hair and makeup touch-up stand in the ladies bathroom.  I got a free lipstick!

My favorite part of the dinner was sitting next to my BFF Angela Kinsey all night.  We did a lot of star gazing.  At one point we tried to go to the bathroom but got stuck in a little traffic jam that included Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Colin Farrell and Tom Hanks.  We were pinching ourselves and trying to act normal when we came upon Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston.  It was all very surreal.

After the show we went upstairs to the NBC Universal Party where a few of us celebrated our loss by doing shots of tequila.  That helped.

We made our way to the InStyle party where we met Mike Tyson!

The InStyle party was awesome.  The Dan Band played and they had this really great coconut shrimp.  We left somewhat early as we all had to be at work the next morning.

I'm really looking forward to the SAG Awards where I will be presenting the award for Male Actor in a Drama Series.  I'm very excited and honored to present!  I've also been sick with a cold all week so I'm trying hard to get better in time for Saturday.  The awards air live on TNT Saturday night.

Next week we start shooting the birth episodes!  I've read part one and I love it.  I know what we are having!!!!  Here's a crazy coincidence - my sister, Emily, is also due to give birth next week.  My parents will be having both of their daughters in labor - one real and one fake!

I know not everyone loved the clip show tonight but I have to say I liked it.  It brought back a lot of happy memories of working with a great cast and crew over these many years.  And, it made me want to go back and watch some old episodes - like Health Care with all the fake diseases!

Thanks again for your nice comments!  And, Happy New Year!

This blog is for everyone who was hoping there was a cheaper way to visit The Office.

Marcus York - who plays Billy Merchant our Scranton Business Park Manager - is holding a raffle to benefit SCICure Advancement.  The group is dedicated to finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Marcus is a great guy.  We've loved working with him.  It's always great to have him on set.  Steve Carell, NBC, and our producer Randy Cordray have come together to help his organization by offering a set visit to The Office - plus airfare AND accomodations - for 2 people!  It costs just $1 to enter the raffle for your chance to win!  You can enter as many times as you like.

The winner will not be announced until October 23, 2010 - so there is awhile to wait.  You win the same visit I've described before:  watch us filming from the VIP Green Room (just steps away from the stage - in fact if we need to use the restroom we walk right by you), tour of the set, cast members will stop by to say hello, lunch in our lunchroom with availible cast and crew).

This raffle ticket makes a nice stocking stuffer.  Good luck!  Here is the link:

Kate has generously offered to auction off her homemade Christmas ornament!  This is one of the ornaments we made last year for our Office Christmas tree.  The only rule was that you had to use items you found on set.

This was made using an actual prop from our show.  Here is what Kate has to say about it:

The ornament I made was made from a wardrobe tag and a booze bottle that was put in my fake desk during the BUSINESS TRIP episode - (the booze bottle is from the airplane scene where Michael, Oscar and Andy go to Canada.)
You know when little kids leave Santa some cookies and milk and a note on Christmas Eve? This is Meredith's version. It's all a bribe. Cookies or booze. Right?
And besides, Santa gets cold on that sled.

xo,
Kate Flannery aka Meredith

All of the proceeds from the sale of the ornament go to Kitten Rescue a no-kill animal rescue organization in Los Angeles.  She will autograph the ornament for the winner.  Shipping in the US and Canada is free.  To bid on the ornament go here:

The Kitten Rescue Fur Ball at the Skirball is this Saturday December 5th in Los Angeles.  If you want to get tickets to the event you can go to:

Kitten Rescue

At the event I will be auctioning off one of the necklaces I wore in the wedding episode of The Office as well as several signed items from the cast.

Thanks for reading all my posts about Kitten Rescue!  And, thanks for your support!  Here is a photo of a little Kitten Rescue kitten named Garbage (after the cat Garbage on The Office - that's the one Dwight gives to Angela).  He's too little to be adopted just yet...but he's darn cute.  What better way to end a blog than with a cute kitten photo!

If you are looking for a girlie distraction, here is Part Two of Assignment Jennifer. She walks the runway with Project Runway models as the judges. Too much girlie fun!

Also, just wanted to give a shout out to my acting coach Robert D'Avanzo.  I had the pleasure of speaking at one of his classes last week.  I met a bunch of great actors.

If you are interested in studying with him, check out his website:

Robert D'Avanzo Acting Classes

His 6-week on camera audition class is awesome, affordable, and the best kept secret in LA.

Yes, I attended the CNN Heroes Event in Los Angeles the other night.  Yes, I had giant hair.  And I loved them both!

(thank you Just Jared for the photo!)

Lee, Rainn, Kate, Creed and I attended the CNN Heroes Event and it was an AMAZING night.

CNN Heroes honors 10 ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.  These stories are heartwarming and inspirational.

One man, Jorge Munoz, drives a bus all day long, goes home to his family and together they cook 150 meals in their kitchen for the homeless.  They drive their truck to the same corner each night and hand out the meals.  He gets food donated and keeps it in 6 refrigerators around his house!

Another man, Roy Foster, was a homeless veteran.  He pulled himself off the streets and now dedicates himself to getting other vets off the streets as well.  He has a halfway house that provides food, shelter and as he puts it "camaraderie".  His moto is "no man left behind".

It's very powerful stuff.  I got to meet Roy Foster after the event and I am honored to have shook his hand.  I think this show is a great way to kick off the holidays.  It has certainly put me in a more giving, patient and loving place.

It airs on CNN on Thanksgiving night at 9pm Eastern/Pacific.  You might catch a glimpse of us in the audience!

Okay, one more photo of that hair.  I couldn't resist!  It's so Mad Men right!?

Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) is auctioning off a visit to The Office set!  If you are interested, visit here to bid:

OFFICE SET VISIT AUCTION

Proceeds benefit the group Hollywood Arts.

Generally visitors sit in our green room just steps away from the stage and watch us film for about 2 hours.  This is always a cool experience because you see what it takes to make a scene work from beginning to end.  You see us laugh, do bits, and generally mess up along the way.

You get to watch a live rehearsal, tour the set, you can take photos behind Michael's desk holding his Worlds Best Boss mug or at reception, and the cast drops by here and there to say hello and thank you for supporting a good cause.  You are also invited to eat lunch with the cast and crew in our lunchroom.  The food is outstanding!  Seriously...don't get me started on the dessert table.  Hopefully they are serving the warm chocolate cookie in a pan the day you visit!  (It is Steve's favorite.)

We have a closed set so a visit is rare.  These usually go for over $10,000.  The bidding on this auction is only open for one more day and at the time of this blog was under $700.  Quite a steal in comparison!  Good luck and happy bidding!

Last year at Christmas we had craft day on set of The Office.  We challenged ourselves to make ornaments for our Office Christmas tree using only things we found on set.  I found some Schrute Bucks, glitter and glue.  I made a little house ornament!  It's SO CUTE!

I've decided to auction off the ornament and give the proceeds to Kitten Rescue.  I will personally autograph the ornament to the winner.  Thanks for bidding and helping some cute kitties in the process!

You can access the auction via Officetally:

First off a big THANK YOU to everyone who reached out to Kitten Rescue last weekend.  They received several applications for adoptions and some donations of food and money.  It was all greatly appreciated!

If you want more kitten cuteness please consider joining me on Saturday December 5th for the Furball at the Skirball annual fundraiser for Kitten Rescue.  I am donating a number of items from The Office.  I will be there hosting the event and mingling with the animal lovers!  Last year was really fun.  Lots of cute photos and heartwarming rescue stories.  And good food!  For more information you can go to:

KITTEN RESCUE EVENT

Next subject:  Project Runway!  One more week to the final runway shows!  Woo Hoo!  I honestly don't know who I'm rooting for.  You?  I feel horrible for Carol Hannah!  Watching her work so hard while sick is brutal.

Check out Assignment Jennifer's Runway video.  I read this blog every week after the show.  This week Jennifer got Koji - one of the Project Runway Models - to teach her how to walk a runway!  Super Cool!  I found the interview with Koji rather fascinating.  She talks about how she got started as a model (crazy lucky) and why you have to walk the way you do down a runway.  If only I had Koji to coach me before I walked the runway in that charity fashion show 2 years ago!  Enjoy:

Oxiclean Update:  It worked!  I cleaned my entire couch slipcover.  It was a huge project.  (It's a sectional.)  It took about 7 loads to complete.  I had to wash a couple of the cushion covers twice to get them as white and brite as the others.  But Oxiclean got out almost every stain.  It got out red wine, chocolate and coffee.  (You are probably saying to yourself "Wow, that is some major insight into Jenna's diet."  Ha!)  The one thing it didn't get out all the way - THE SOOTY KITTEN FOOTPRINTS!  LOL!  They are barely visable but I can still see little hints if I look the right way.

There is one part of the couch project I did not anticipate.  WRINKLES.  The cushions look fine because when I stretched the fabric over the pillows they smoothed out.  The back of the couch and floor skirt are a hot mess.  I guess I know what I'm doing this Sunday during footall - ironing my couch cover!  Woo Hoo!  (Go Cowboys!)

Final Subject:  MURDER!  I loved the episode last night.  It reminded me of Office Olympics.  Very fun, sweet, lots of laughs.  It was especially fun to watch this episode because of how much we laughed while making it.  The episodes where we are all up on our feet in the conference room usually produce the most on-set bits and laughs.

I remember the scene where Oscar tries to tell us about the email he received from corporate and Michael forces him to speak in an accent.  Oscar was so funny while we were filming.  We were all losing it!

The scene where Brian and Meredith ask Erin for a threesome was also a difficult one to get through.  The look on Andy's face when he overhears them made us all laugh.

We also had a hard time when Angela reveals her character of VooDoo Mama JuJu.  I have my back to the camera and even still I had to look at Angela's shoulder because if I looked at the shrunken head or at Angela directly I would laugh.

Hope you liked the episode!  Thanks for all your support!

Two blogs in one day!  Look at what I have time for when I'm on hiatus.  To bring everyone up to speed - I bought the OxiClean Laundry Detergent.  I'm re-washing the cushions now to see if that brightens them a little more.  I'll keep you posted.

Now onto Cute City.  Just before we finished filming for the season some crew members found 2 tiny kittens living under the wardrobe trailer at The Office.  The Mom cat was no longer around.  We trapped the little guys and named them Dunder and Mifflin.

I took them home with me and contacted my friends at Kitten Rescue.

Here's Dunder at 5 weeks:

Here's Mifflin:

Dunder is an adorable and spunky little guy.  He's the one that walked in my fireplace and got sooty footprints all over my couch.  Gotta love it!  I fostered Dunder for just over 2 weeks.  He is now living in a new foster home where he has joined a litter of kittens around his age.  He has lots of friends to frolic and play with!

Mifflin was under a pound when we found him.  He was barely weaned and needed extra special care.  He went to a foster parent in Kitten Rescue who had more experience with kittiens so small.  When he was old enough he joined Dunder and the litter of kitten friends.  Mifflin is a total loverboy...I had him for 2 nights in the beginning.  I carried him around with me all day, zipped up in my hoodie.  He would sleep and purr.  Too sweet.

Here are Dunder and Mifflin along with Camp Scranton (that's what we are calling the litter of kittens who took them in like brothers):

All of these little guys are up for adoption through Kitten Rescue.  They are having a special Black Cat Adoption event this Saturday November 7th.

Also up for adoption is Camp Scranton's surrogate mother.  This kitty lost her kittens and she graciously raised this bunch like her own.  It isn't easy to socialize a litter of bouncy kittens and teach them proper manners.  She has done a GREAT job!

You may not know this but black cats are the hardest to place.  They have the highest kill rate at the shelters.  It's really sad because my experience with black and black and white cats has always been wonderful.  They are generally very smart, spunky, loving cats.

During the month of October Kitten Rescue does not adopt out any of their black cats.  Too many people take them for Halloween rituals or as a prop for their party only to dump them after Halloween.  Evey year they have this big adoption event the first weekend in November.

So...if you are looking for a new kitty, please consider one of these guys.  If you live in California they will be having adoption events this Saturday November 7th at:

CANOGA PARK
PetSmart
21311 Victory Blvd.
Canoga Park, CA 91303
(818) 704-6560
12:00 pm to 7:00 pm

WEST LA
Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies
11055 West Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90064
(310) 473-5099
12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Applications for Dunder, Millfin, Camp Scranton and the like will be accepted at both locations.
Everyone at The Office is invested in these fellas and we want to know they've gone to a good home!  And, we have one condition - if you adopt any of these guys you have to send us photos of them all grown up!
