I have written a manifesto for a radical abolitionism, which the vegan/animal rights movement desperately needs. Francione is over, just another distraction and dead-end. This approach incorporates – not condemns – militant direct action and links – not separates -- veganism and animal liberation with social and environmental cause to create a radical alliance politics and global resistance movement. Please read the manifesto, join our new Facebook group, and help us build a dynamic total liberation movement for humans, animals, and the earth.

The Island of Dr. Moreau via the Campus of Dr Jentsch and the UCLA “Pro-Test”Campaign to Legitimate Scientific Terrorism Dr. Steven Best "For scientists to create monsters, they first have to turn themselves into monsters, a process that begins with training in “objective” methods and the schizophrenic detachment of reason from emotion, facts from values. Curiosity pursued “for its own sake” is severed from ethical ideals as the drive for knowledge is its own justification and legitimation, no matter what unconscionable horrors are inflicted on innocent victims." http://negotiationisover.c..om/?p=3242(Simulposted with Thomas Paine's Corner)

The scholarly facade of this tendentious propaganda peddler of dogmatic pacifism has totally cracked, and she has been revealed as the shoddy scholar and enemy of animal liberation she has always been. See the devastating new critique of Hall by UK activist Alison Banville, as she and her comrades (who Hall vilified as thugs and misfits) prepared a little surprise for this overpaid bureaucrat for the corporate-state machine:
"Lee Hall, notorious defender of state oppression of animal activists and author of the ridiculous ‘Capers in the Churchyard, Animal Activism in the Age of Terror’ was scheduled to give a talk today (Sunday Sep 6th) at the London Vegan Festival. Things didn’t work out quite as she, or the festival, had planned however. If Hall was seriously entertaining the notion that she could fly to England and hold forth for fifty minutes at an event like this, with SHAC activists present, on the subject of her choice, without being confronted about her statements on direct action, then I suggest she is in need of a psychiatrist."
—Alison Banville

There is also a very illuminating video of the entire event at this same link.
For background critical essays on Hall's shoddy scholarship and state-influenced denuniciations and distortions of the militant direct action movement in the UK, see:

All in all, it has been a bad few weeks for the elitist single-issue vegan pacifists and abolitionists, but good for the defenders of militant direct action and social revolution!

I interviewed with Bob Linden (much too quickly, in a span of 10 minutes only) on the insights and limitations of both humanist Leftism and the vegan and animal rights movements, and why these movements so badly need one another, but remain so far apart.
The interview will air this Sunday and be archived at: http://www.goveganradio.com/
For background reading information, see my recent essays:

Hope you enjoy the shows.

I am the guest on Bob Linden's Go Vegan radio show (http://www.goveganradio.com/) for the next two broadcasts.
The first show, airing this week, is a critical analysis of the corporate co-optation and "humane slaughter" policies of HSUS.
The second involves a critique of speciesist Left political traditions from a vegan and animal rights perspective, while urging the importance of Left and "progressive" political traditions for counteracting the limitations of the single-issue approach that prevails in the vegan and animal rights movements.
Here are the details for the shows from Bob Linden:
THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM: "Is the Humane Society of the United States Part of the Meat Industry - Or What?" A discussion with Steven Best, Associate Professor of Philosophy & Humanities, University of Texas, El Paso, co-editor of "Terrorists or Freedom Fighters? Reflections on the Liberation of Animals" and "Igniting A Revolution: Voices In Defense Of The Earth", and author of the forthcoming book, “Animal Liberation and Moral Progress: The Struggle for Human Evolution.”
Dr Best and Bob analyze a recent interview featuring HSUS prez & ceo Wayne Pacelle, and the impact of $120,000,000 in annual donations diverted from grassroots efforts on behalf of animals to a mega-corporation that - by its own admission - does not support animal rights, does not promote veganism, is not against all hunting and zoos, supports slaughter, aligns itself with the livestock industry and regards it as a noble profession.
What? You have to listen to believe it. And then ask yourself why you would donate to an "animal organization" that does not promote animal rights or veganism, and has executives with salaries in the hundreds of thousand$. Imagine how the world could be influenced to GO VEGAN if WE had $120,000,000 budget to make it happen - and with global warming, drought, deforestation hunger, poverty, disease, energy crises - we, and the animals, can't wait for those without the vision - the vegan vision!!!
COMING WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 19/20:
"Why Doesn't the Left Get Animal Rights & Liberation?"
