As you know I am getting to release a new album on June 10, which I have named The Bridge.  I chose this title because to me it represents the journey we take as Christians.  We will all come to a place where God is taking us from what He had, to what He has in store.  As we continue this journey, true solace isn't found in knowing what's on the other side; it's only found in worshipping Him as we cross….the bridge...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

I thought that we could have some fun with the bridge theme so here are a few facts on famous bridges.  Be sure to pay attention because at the end of this there's a game where you could win all 3 of my CDs.

THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE:

The Brooklyn Bridge opened - May 24,1883, 2:00 PM
People crossing the bridge on opening day - 150,300
Bridge opened to vehicles - May 24, 1883, 5:00 p.m.
Total number of vehicles crossed on the first day - 1,800
Vehicles charge on Opening Day - 5 cents
First Steel Cable Suspension Bridge

THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE:

The Golden Gate Bridge opened- May  28, 1937, 12:00 pm
The bridge is 1.7 miles long
The bridge has been closed 3 times due to strong winds, however it hasn't been closed since 1983.
The bridge is painted orange.
As of June 2005, 1,779,032,891 vehicles had crossed the Golden Gate Bridge (includes northbound and southbound) since opening in 1937.
It's costs $5 to cross the bridge today, money is collected going in the southbound direction only

THE LONDON BRIDGE:

The London Bridge was first made of wood
There is a famous nursery rhyme based on this bridge
The bridge crossed over the Thames river in London
The world famous London Bridge is now located in Arizona
In 1968 the city of London sold the bridge for $2.5 million
It took 3 years and another 7 million dollars to dismantle, ship and rebuild the bridge.

Now that you've learned about some of the most-famous bridges in the world take a shot at these questions.  If you get them right then you will be entered into a drawing to win all 3 of my CDs with my  new album "The Bridge" autographed.

Game:
1. As of June 2005 if all of the cars that had crossed the Golden Gate bridge going in the Southbound direction had been charged $5 to cross, how much money would have been collected?
2. What bridge was the first steel cable suspension bridge?
3. Where is the world-famous London Bridge today?
4. How much were vehicles charged to cross the Brooklyn Bridge on opening day?
5. How many times has the Golden Gate Bridge been closed?

Email your answers to aethebridge@gmail.com.   If you answered all of these questions correctly you will be entered in to win!  The winner will be contacted by May 30.  Good Luck!  -Anthony Evans.
