dj Shorty Vs theLOOPmaster Vol 1 - 'Free Range Music'

This mixtape was a project that I started several years back. Inspired by the likes of Coldcut and the 'Journey by DJ' albums, and more notably 'the Dirtchamber Sessions Vol 1' by Liam Howlett , I wanted to put together a mix that truly reflected my taste in music.

 

The idea with the mix was to pay homage to my record collection as well as bringing together the DJ and the Producer/Remixer in me. Hence, DJ Shorty (live) Vs theLOOPmaster (produced) was born.

 

The mix features music of all types brought together in a seamless 1 hour mix that is truly a Journey by DJ. I promise, no matter what sort of music you are into, you will be able to appreciate this mix. The best way to listen to it is in one hit., beginning to end.

The Superchunk is a half hour mix, hosted by Londons legendry Xfm (104.9fm) during the even more legendry Remix show. (Sundays 7-10pm) Host of the show, Eddy Temple-Morris, invited me to put together a 'chunk after having heard a few remixs and bootlegs I had put together. It was an honor to take part considering the week before was Fatboy Slim and the week after was DJ Craze!
The posted version is only the first 15 minutes (its all they would let me!) The mix features freestyles from UK MCs Lethal and 3Degrees, as well as other tracks by my peeps, Back when the mix was aired (Sun 4th July 2004), I was part of a crew called Sound Kartel. Sadly, things never panned out as hoped, but I have stayed in touch with many of the former members and continue to colaborate on projects. 3Degrees features on shorty Vs theLOOPmaster Vol1, Lethal will be on Vol 2 which is very nearly finished!
