Current mood: blessed
Category: Music
Hey everybody!... It's been a long time since I have blogged on myspace...partly because no one hits up myspace anymore_lol. Nevertheless, I just wanted to let you all know that I am working on my sophmore project on Brooks Entertainment/ EMI Gospel, with famed & anointed producers Warren Campbell, PJ Morton & Eric Dawkins. I solicit your prayers. Because, as with most things that are worth it...there is always a "labor" of love attached to the goal. God has been ministering to me and my family in a new way since "Reflections" and I believe that you will hear that transition on this next project. I try to be transparent and share my heart on each song, but most importantly_it is my life to share the heart of God for His people and beyond. Please stay tuned and I will keep you all posted amid the process. Don't forget that you can follow me on twitter @jasonandpaulac & via facebook @jasonandpaulac (isn't that where everyone is now a day anyway?...sorry myspace_lol). Until next time...God Bless you and may He keep you and your families. Growing in Grace, Champ

More than a few albums may have escaped you over the past twelve months. Here's your opportunity to dig beyond the top charters to find some absolute gems. Some of these projects weren't distributed nationally, or perhaps just weren't on your favourite retail shelf when you last checked. For whatever reason you may have missed these, it surely wasn't because the music wasn't great. Check these out — GOSPELflava.com's Top Sleeper Projects of 2008 Click HERE

The Power of Prayer 2 Chronicles 20:1-15
In Scripture, we find examples of people who prayed with spiritual authority. Elijah boldly challenged the prophets of the false god Baal because he knew the Lord would hear and answer. King Jehoshaphat heard that a great army was coming against Israel, so he sought God for direction and strength—and called upon the nation to do the same. These examples can teach us important lessons about praying powerfully: Dependence on God. The petitions of both men showed their deep reliance upon the Lord. Knowing that victory over Israel's enemies was beyond their own abilities, they asked the Lord to intervene. A Focus on His plan. The prophet did things God's way against tremendous odds and at great personal risk (1 Kings 19:1-2). The king called for the nation to fast as he sought to discover the Lord's strategy. Purity of motive. Both leaders had God-centered intentions with a goal of furthering His purposes. They were not trying to gain anything for themselves. Confidence in the Lord's faithfulness. Neither man hesitated to ask publicly for divine help. Elijah told the plan to the 450 enemy prophets, and Jehoshaphat called upon all of Israel to join him in prayer. If your prayers seem to be having little impact, ask yourself, Have I been relying upon my own strength to resolve matters? Is there a selfish basis for my request? Am I lacking confidence in God (James 1:5-7)? If so, turn to God, confess, and seek to follow the example of the prophet and the king.

This weeks "What's On Your Mind" is titled Waiting On God
Isn't it the hardest thing to have to wait on something we really desire? As children we couldn't wait on our birthday to roll around, not because we were turning a year older, nah, but instead the excitement was about what we thought we were going to get in the form of gifts. It was the same with Christmas, as children we didn't really reverence the meaning behind December 25th, but instead we couldn't wait to wake up that morning and do what??? Yep....open presents. Well not much has changed now that we are adults. We still have the hardest time waiting. Only now it's more painful because were dealing with an all knowing, all seeing, most wise Savior!!! He knows what's best for us. And contrary to popular opinion, He knows better than we do what's best and when to release something to us! Many of us whine and complain and become unreasonable to deal with as a result of our lack of patience while waiting on God. This has to change. Why?
Because this attitude borders on ungratefulness! God has been WAY too good to us for us to dismiss his goodness with our FUNKY attitudes. He may not have answered your prayer for something big that you felt was absolutely necessary, but instead He sends daily reminders of His love and compassion. What do I mean...glad u asked! Fact that you're breathing, you can put one foot in front of the other, you can see, you can hear. It may not be all that glamorous to you but man....God DIDN'T have to do any of that! Instead of being upset because you're waiting on God to answer some year old request or 3 years or whatever it is be grateful for the little things while waiting on the bigger things to happen!
They that WAIT upon the LORD shall renew their strength...they shall mount up on wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and NOT FAINT. Isaiah 40:29-31.
Waiting on God can be painful, but it doesn't have to be unbearable. Make Him your focus and your every thought and I promise when the time is right He WILL bring the vision to past! Wait and be of GOOD courage. Wait I say on the Lord!

Hey everybody!
As many of you may know, I have joined forces with the 50 Million Pound Challenge in declaration to lose weight and protect myself from health issues due to obesity. If you picked up the July issue of Ebony you know that Dr. Ian Smith came over to my home and wiped out all the goodies I had been eating. Well I must say, it has been a challenge since meeting with him but it is working. I have lost around 25 pounds or so and must keep pushing. I like to thank each and every one of you who has been there with me in prayer and support through out this obstacle I have been facing. I lost my father at an early age to obesity and really struggle with this issue as a result of his death. Please continue to pray for me and my family. I hope you enjoy the second installment. Please feel free to leave me messages and comment any time and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
God Bless, Jason

What's up everyone??!! I pray all is well. A lot has happened and is happening since we last spoke. I need all of you who read what's on your mind forum to really keep me in your prayers! Trying to find your own way and your voice can be difficult @ times. But God uses the hard times to help grow us!!!!! This week I want to talk about criticism.
Nobody likes criticism. It's rarely fun and it's often unsolicited. Many times, we reject our critic's words because of the harsh spirit in which they were spoken. Yet God can take even a wrong attitude, bad timing, or poor tone of voice and still tell us something we need to hear. That's why we are wise to pay attention when people critique us. Criticism—invited or not—forces us to examine ourselves and take notice of weak areas. This helps us discover who we really are and avoid unnecessary mistakes. If we fail to listen, our potential for mental, emotional, and spiritual growth is limited. However, that is not to say all opinions are valid. It is important to respond well and evaluate criticism correctly. First, do not immediately reject the comment, blame the person, or defend yourself. Instead, consider what was said, and ask God if He's trying to tell you something. Then, thank the person for his interest in you, and explain that you'll reflect on his observation. If he was sincere, he'll be appreciative, but if his intentions were negative, this will disarm him. Next, evaluate the criticism and determine what exactly is under scrutiny—your beliefs, your character, God? Finally, view this as an opportunity for growth, and—if necessary—apologize. Jesus died on the cross for our sake, so we as believers are certain of His approval. When we remember this, the disapproval of others will take on less significance and cause less hurt. Then, as we learn to respond correctly, we'll be blessed to find ourselves growing.

Hello everyone! Long time no talk to! I pray all is well with you. I want to thank EVERYONE for their continued support of this ministry! I pray that this REFLECTIONS album is a blessing to you.
Well, for this weeks What's On Your MInd forum I was inspired to talk about insecurity and discouragement!
They are two of THE MOST effective tools that satan uses to derail, deceive, and devalue us as believers.
As kids we didn't understand it enough to articulate it, other than the pain we felt from the rejection and the loneliness that came from all the hurtful words and comparisons that we suffered at the hands of insensitive people. Like what? I'm glad you asked!
In my case it was a grandmother who CONSTANTLY compared me to my friends and just about anyone she came in contact with! It was always why don't you be more like so and so? Why don't you act like so and so? There was the name calling! She said things like people hate to see you coming. Granted I was not the most reserved child, but I wasn't a bad child. I was very inquisitive and very high energy and it got on her nerves, but the key word in that statment is....you guessed it.....CHILD! And so was the case with many of you that are reading this article. It may not have been your grandmother. Maybe it was a classmate, maybe it was a childhood friend, maybe it was a relative. Whomever it was, they hurt you very deeply with words no child should have to endure or learn how to overlook. I'm sure your asking exactly what does this have to do with insecurity and discouragement? Again, I'm glad you asked. The devil used these individuals and/or groups of people to plant seeds in your heart that have now grown and blossomed into FULL GROWN TREES! You wonder why you are not satisfied with who you are as a person. Or why you constantly are in search of some kind of good feeling or good vibration or some pleasant emotion that you think ONLY comes from dating someone, finding a soulmate, getting high on drugs, having sex (outside of marriage) or spending money you don't have just to make yourself "FEEL" good! Why????? Because you never learned your worth. Because satan has destroyed and distorted your view of who God really created you to be. And now as a grown up you want/need/seek/have to have other people's validation of who you are. If people don't tell you how good you are or how wonderful they think you are, you fall apart. You go out of your way to be a people pleaser; doing things that you know you don't want to do all for someone elses approval! And the funny thing is....the people whom you are seeking approval from, don't have a heaven or a hell to put you in! I guarantee you they themselves are inferior, scared and insecure people!
If they weren't they wouldn't allow you to do the things you do for them trying to get them to like you or approve of you. If they were people with Godly character, they would tell you and promote you to be who God made you! What am I saying.....??? Take an inventory of your circle of friends. List the people with whom you hang out with or with whom you chase after trying to hang out with. After you list them, ask yourself this question; Do they encourage me to be the man or woman God designed me to be? If not.....GET RID OF THEM!!!!! FIND SOME NEW FRIENDS!!!
People who are Godly in their nature and in their character. People who are not threatened by you being you!
It's time for you to be encouraged!!! You have allowed the enemy, the devil to deceive and discourage
you long enough. The bible declares in psalms
139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made!
Get that in your spirit! The only way to do this is through a loving relationship with God our Father.
Sounds simple right??? It takes work, but God WILL love you into knowing just who He created you to be.
Remember this......Validation comes from God!!!
Period!!!! NO ONE ELSE has that kind of power so DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM!!! Satan may have planted those seeds when you were a child, but through the love of Christ you can be free from the opinions of others.
You can be free from needing to hear other people tell you they think you're good at whatever it is you do!
Bottom line:
BE FREE! BE ENCOURAGED!!! MOST OF ALL......BE YOU!!!!!!
Until next time,
Grace and Peace!
