Portland; a warm although cold, beautiful place with hot people who are cool but warm still

Ive have just moments ago descended from the sky over Skidaddle. Some folks call it Sheattle, some even Seattle, but to this little story this holds no relevance. Like i said i have just come from the skies over the city, i mean this in the least religious sense, but i was certainly up there. i was brought to this high point ( in my life ? ) by a tower of sorts and i was shot up there with a couple of other animals. There we were, awaiting some 16 dollar worth of nature, when the city started to seep away under our feet. I had not prepared for this, but a smile was brought to my cracked winter lips. Yes, a big one.The whole body seemed to response well to this new high rising lifestyle.
And oh, was it beautiful. The air here in Skidaddle is so wonderfully fresh, and looking out at the monster red sky and the big transporter ships posing as giant lazy whales made me pretty happy.
I love it here. I guess this town also reminds me of home a little, the icy air,  theres just something scandinavian about this part of the country.
anyways, it was  a good time. Gotta go have dinner. See you at the show.

bye.

we wanna thank all of you that came to our show in the Old Ice Hall, it
was our biggest ever in-door show
and we had an amazing time! With such a huge show, we feel a certain urge
to come back and play a couple of more
intimate gig next time though, which is why I can happily announce two Mew
spring shows. February 16th at the Helsinki House of Culture and 17th at Pakkahuone in Tampere.

We are looking forward to it very much! Kiitos and see you next year!

the sun was out from early morning, everything stood piercingly clear. i certainly felt like robert redford in one of his many washington movies, the stash period. we have little bikes we bring on tour and that tuesday i climbed many small hills in the city on one of them. seeing the white house was pleasant and exciting, last time bush was in office and it had an eerie glow. this time, it radiated good. you know its not the easiest of conversations that are taking place in there, but obamas hearty but intellectual approach will bring good. obama is a guy who, it seems, has reflected a great deal on his place and role in life, not always easy questions to tackle. my point is that he has FELT a lot and that gives him great empathy. and that together with an ability to intellectually reflect on those emotions, is a very good foundation for any person to act reasonable.
joy.
after a great breakfast at a WH nearby hotel with washington insiders everywhere discussing who was being groomed for what position in which administration, a nap in the sun on a lawn by veterans memorial and a visit to the smithsonian ( american history ) i were to return to headquarters,  DAR constitution hall, daughter of the american revolution. the hall was located right next to the white house and all the museums ( and endless number of sandwich shops! )
the night was a special one for us, we were playing with the pixies. when jonas and i started hanging back in school, pixies quickly became perhaps the most important band for us. it seemed unbeatable. and now we were playing with them. i loved seeing the signs on the doors, pixies dressing room. after our contribution, joey and dave popped by to congratulate us on our show. it was nice see them. nice guys. then came time for them to go on and i was impressed: so tight, the sound was great, really and just watching the various members playing their instruments i realized one of the things í always liked about the pixies: they are all great players, with each their individual style, full of inventiveness. and they seemed to be enjoying playing.
sweet.

anyways, good day spent with good people. hope to see you at the coming shows in the us,
