Brant showed me this obnoxious video last week.  I can't... stop... watching it....

No, I am not starring in a major feature film with Johnny Depp, although I was in a scene with Ethan Hawke last night ;)  What a hottie!  I get to play a much better role.... I'm gonna be Auntie Jenny!!!!!!!!  That's right, my big sis is having a little bundle of joy, and I get to play the crazy aunt!  I have been keeping this a secret for two months... it was driving me crazy!  She is through her first trimester (I think 3 months) and she just got a clean bill of health from her doctor.  I saw the sonogram last month, and you could see a little head and little buds for arms and legs.  No "extra" little bud could be seen though, so I have no idea yet if I will have a niece or nephew ;)  Crazy, huh?  I was the baby of the family for so long, and now there's a new one.  Ahhh.... 26 years.... it was a good run.

Humeur actuelle :  curieux

I have always been one of those people that can name a song withing the first 3 seconds of hearing it.  The other day, I walk into Banana Rupublic and I hear this song playing (the one you are listening to right now) and I instantly knew what it was, so I just HAD to tell the sales associate who was helping the name of the song, who composed it, which movie it was from, what scene it was played in, the author who wrote the book that the movie was based on (and he directed the movie), and then I went into a rant about how I was recently in a movie about the author/director.  They just looked at me like I was on crack.

Anyways, I just want to see who else out there knows their movie / music trivia.  Can you name this tune? composer? movie? author? etc?

August 27th

Today my parents are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary!  Though their marriage hasn't been a perfect one, their commitment to one another has taught me a lot and their relationship continues to fascinate me.  Can you imagine being with the same person for 45 years!?  I know I can't at this point in my life.  My parents have somehow managed to make it work through thick and thin, and for that I applaud them.  I can't wait until their 50th.  I'm gonna throw them a big anniversary party.

Humeur actuelle :  énergique

Well, I finially did it... I quit drinking coffee!  No more triple shot drinks at Starbucks for me.  It was pretty draining the first week, but now I have been coffee free for two and a half weeks and I feel great!  I am so proud of myself!  Coffee has been a daily habit for me since I was 16.  I really didn't believe I would be able to function like a normal person without my morning brew, but I suprisingly have much more energy without it.

I'm not completely caffine free though, I have replaced coffee with green tea which still has a little bit of caffine, but lots of great antioxidants.  The amount of caffine in my green tea is far less than the content in my tripple cappuccinos and vanilla lattes that I would drink every morning.  Fortunately, Starbucks serves a really good grean tea by Tazo, so I can still hang out there to read and work on my laptop.  Their tea is much cheaper too!

About 10 months ago, I quit my diet coke addiction and cut aspartame completely out of my diet.  I really felt like a heroin addict going through all of that!  I felt like I needed to be strapped to my bed so I wouldn't run out for a DC.  Man, the headaches were terrible too!

It's so nice not to feel dependant on any substances.  I have really improved my overall diet too, so I am feeling great!

View over Chicago River at Michigan Ave.

Well, in a few hours I will get on a plane and leave Chicago :(  At the moment I am hanging out in our room using the Hyatt's wireless internet, enjoying the view of the Magnificent Mile, and munching on Frango mint chocolates from Marshall Fields.  Mmmmmm...

Wrigley Building

My mom and I spent the past week here on a shopping trip.  Well, more shopping for her.  The woman is insane!  She's coming home with 8 pairs of shoes!  She actually bought two new pieces of luggage to send her shoes back.  Yet, she's too cheap to take a cab... go figure.   I went along as her tour guide since I was in Chicago a few months ago.  I didn't really get to do the cultural and social things I wanted to do, but my trip was free so I can't complain!  And mommy bought me a kick ass pair of vintage style heels...

The 95th Floor Restaurant at the top of the John Hancock Tower

I am very sad to leave, I really love this city.  You know that feeling when you just click with a place?  That's kind of how I feel about Chicago.  I may have to find a job here. I'll be updating my resume on Monster tomorrow...

Okay, so I am finally getting my life back in to "normal."  Sorry if I've been out of touch!   I moved a few months back, then I threw my back out and ended up in the hospital, then my computer crashed... I have somewhat "settled in" and I finally have pics of my new pad to share with everyone.

This is the best quote I have heard in a long time... possibly ever, and I have to share:

"The only thing wrong with being an atheist is that there's nobody to talk to during an orgasm..."

Genius, I tell you!

Jonell and Robert

Alline and Glen

"Take a chance” by Abba, “Besame Mucho,”  “Summertime” by Billie Holiday, “Toxic” by Britney Spears, and anything else that doesn’t require much range ;)

4. What did you fear was going to get you at night as a child?

Spiders…… eek!

5. When and why did you last vomit?
Hahaha, that would be on the first date from hell after the Riata Xmas party where I got “extra tipsy” before, during, and after the date.  I was the worst date ever!  Good times…

6. What’s in your pockets right now?

I don’t have any pockets right now...

7. What color are your bedroom walls?
They WERE red in my condo, and they still would be if my damn apartment complex would let me paint them

Art Vandalay

9. Nicknames your parents call you?
Jen, Jenny, Jennifer, Jennifer Leigh (when I’m in trouble), and Mergatroid (don’t ask… )

10. Best bed sheets you had as a child?
They were blue flannel sheets and boy were they cozy!

11. Favorite childhood pet?
Pookey.  She was my Peekapoo (Poodle and Pekinese mix).  I miss her so much and I still get teary-eyed thinking of her.

12. Any pets now?
Yes, Biscuit.  She is the ugliest dog in the world, but she is my precious baby!

Hot

14. Do you like your teeth?
I love my teeth.

15. inny or an outty?
inny

16. Things you shout to stupid drivers?
"pick a lane!”

17. Favorite bathroom?
I love the Bathrooms in the Venitian resort in Las Vegas.  It is where my parents stay, and I have tagged along a few times to do some photography and to help out at a convention.  The bathrooms in the suites are GORGEOUS.  Yes, I said bathroomS.  I also like my bathroom in my old condo.  It was black and red with stained concrete floors.  It looked like something out of the Crow.

18. Bake or broil?
Bake

19. Black olives or green olives?
Black olives.  Yummy!

20. What kind of phone do you own?
I’m on my 8th phone.  They keep falling apart!  The new one is a Sanyo flip phone with a camera and built in flash, a color LCD with a zebra background, and it plays the “Asian Jingle” ring tone for incoming calls.

21. What's one of the strangest things you ever chewed on?
This wasn’t really chewing, but it was definitely strange.  They were meal flavored potato chips that Danielle, Mark and I picked up in London.  I think one bag was “Rosemary Chicken and Garlic mashed potatoes” or something, and I remember the other one had Thyme in it.  The chips actually incorporated all of the flavors of the meal names.  It was bizarre.  We felt like we had just eaten a full course meal!

22. Is your music kept in a particular order?
The music on my computer is meticulously organized (it’s a Virgo thing), the CD’s I have are not, but they are all archived on my computer anyways.

23. Where do you get your film developed?

24. If your skin could be any color of the rainbow, what would
it be?

I have no idea, next question…

25. Where did you go to pre-school?
At some church near the house I grew up in.  I was in the “Busy Bee” class, I played a sheep in the school play, and my nemesis was a girl named Katie who drew a pink line on my drawing one day.  She ruined my masterpiece!  I am still bitter…

26. Strangest drug experience?
I plead the 5th

27. Favorite weather?
The weather in San Diego, my fav US place!  I also love the summer weather in Sweden.

28. Describe your fingernails?
They have been growing like weeds and looking really good lately.  I keep them kind of long and rounded at the ends.  I hate those squared off ends!  At the moment, they are painted pink with "Aphrodite's Pink Nightie" by OPI.

29. Last time you had to go to the hospital?
I nearly cut my thumb off recently in a “scrap booking injury,” and I had to go to the emergency room to get stitches.  I was lucky I didn’t slice any tendons!  My thumb is back to normal now.

30. Worst injury you've ever had?
Probably my golfing injury.  I was on the 18th hole in a tournament, and I got whacked in the mouth by a golf ball that I hit.  It ricocheted off a tree root and hit just below my bottom teeth.  I had to go to the emergency room and have surgery, and I was very lucky that all my teeth survived.

31. How do you like your chocolate?
Dark, milk, Swiss, Belgian, whatever, as long as it is melting in my mouth.  My favourite chocolate is Marabou from Sweden.  Mmmmm, chocolate….

The double sticky acid free archival photo tape

33. Favorite thing to write or draw with?
Adobe In Design and Photoshop

J

35. Last movie you went to see?
Star Wars! I'm obsessed and I can't wait to see it again!

36. Were you a thumb sucker?
Yes, I could get very dirty here……

37. How old are you?
20...... something

38: What are your dreams like?
They are bizarre like most people’s dreams and I usually forget them.  The last one I remember was one involving flying (which I am afraid of).  I had just arrived at the Amsterdam airport from Stockholm, and I was getting on a plane back to the US.  I got to the gate, and the plane looked like one of those white Pfisher Price toy planes with the three holes for windows and a propeller. The pane could only take off with the power of a sling shot slide launch thingy.  I remember thinking, “man, where never gonna make it overseas.”  We ended up crashing somewhere in Northwestern France, and we walked to the Atlantic coast.  We took a cruise ship home, and then I woke up.  I know, bizarre.  Hey, at least I haven’t killed the Pope in my dreams like SOME people
J

39. Hallucinations?

Personally, no, but some dude who was hallucinating broke into my old condo after having some bad mushrooms.  I was inside at the time and it scared me half to death!

40. Worst hotel you've ever been?
I met up with Mikael for a week in Paris and we decided we didn’t wan’t to spend too much on hotels.  Mikael picked out a hotel to stay in and MAN was it a dump!  It was about the size of my old kitchen, and the bed took up most of the room.  The place didn’t have any air conditioning and there was a heat wave at the time.  The only window opened up other buildings, so there was no possibility for ventilation.  We sprawled out on the bed in our sweaty ickyness and tried to stay cool.  Even though the conditions were miserable at the time, I wouldn’t trade that trip for anything in the world!

41. Best vacation?
Sweden, I spent a summer there and I loved it!  I had some unforgettable "fun" on a small deserted island in the middle of a lake in Dalarna ;)  Haha, beat that location!

42. What languages can you speak?
I am still working on English, I can speak a bit of Swedish, I try to speak French, and I can’t speak a bit of Spanish even though I took classes for 3 years.  Me llamo Peggy Hill

I have just launched my new acting website www.jennytaylor.us and I would love your feedback, so check it out while you’re bored at work and let me know what ya think

I am having trouble with the scrollbars in the main table.  They show up just fine in every PC browser I have tried, but they don't show up in any Mac browser.  The table just auto adjusts to the height of the contents instead of using the scrollbar in the Mac browsers.  I have a specific height and width set for the table and "theoretically" it shouldn't auto adjust.  If anyone knows how to fix this, I would appreciate your help

Humeur actuelle :  créativité
I recently had my two of photos published in a magazine and a book, both of which should hit the bookstores this month. The magazine is the October issue of a British publication called “What Digital Camera.” I received my two copies last month, but they are just starting to show up in bookstores here in the States. My leggy fishnet image “Caught in the Net” appears on the cover as well as the main image for an article on mastering black and white photography with Photoshop. Also in the article is my staircase photo “Descending” which shows up a couple of pages later.

The book is titled “The Comprehensive Guide to Black and White Digital Photography.” Whew! What a mouthful! It is also a British publication and is written by John Clements. It is supposed to be out this November in the UK, but will probably arrive in our bookstores by December. The book also features “Caught in the Net” and “Descending” on two separate spreads, along with an interview of my Photoshop techniques.

If you want to see the images, they are in the “fine art” section of my website: www.jennytaylorphoto.com
