It amazes me how you don't realize you miss something until you have it in your life again. I've been gifted the best kitten. She plays well with the kids and is a warm cuddly snuggler for me. I've also noticed her nosing the area where I suspect we have a mouse. All around awesome kitty. I don't know what it is but there's something so theraputic about a warm cat purring in your lap. Something warm fuzzy and responsive to love is an absolute must for all humans and what better easier way than a cat?

Today I registered my two oldest boys for school for the first time. I'm not happy about it but there is little home school support here and it was their idea to go. It's all very uncomfortable to me but I respect their right to choose for themselves. Hopefully all will go well for them and think about all the yarn I can spin while the baby naps during the day!

Started out by going to COSI which is always awesome. The whole way there I was barraged with questions about clouds only to show up andcan you believe it- they're doing a program on clouds! Very cool. Then I drive another hour out of my way to find the magical mystical ATM my bank claimed we had there only to find out it is not actually there. But, trip not wasted, I got two more gorgeous bunnies. I now have a red eye white, a fawn, a red, and a chocolate agouti. I'd love a black some day too but I think right now, especially with the prospect of sheep coming, I am just tapped on how much attention I can give rabbits.
So onward the two and a half hour drive home where the children blessedly went straight to bed without a word and I was able to spun some scrumptious bunny wool.
Yay for wool :-)

My boys attended a 4-H meeting today where they were electing club officers. When they asked who to nominate for president my five year old dutifully raised his hand and said, "Obama!"

I asked him what he thinks about being five and if he's excited. He told me he's super excited and I said, "why's that?" and he replied, "I've never been five for a whole day before!"

So I go to clean out the rabbit cage and need to get the bunnies out of there figuring they probably need some excercise anyway, so I put the cage on the floor with the door open thinking they will hop right out. Mind you I'm used to the iguana who would use any excuse to bolt out the door and try to eat my face off. Well nope, they just sit there looking at me like nah mom we like it in here. So I throw some hay on the floor where they can see it thinking well they love hay this will get them out. One of them stretches her little nose as far as she can out the door without actually exiting the cage and then decides, nope we like it in here. At this poont I should mention I am fully capable of reaching in and pulling them out (and ultimately is what i wound up doing) but thought it would be less traumatic if they did it on their own.
So next I take our their food dish thinking that will get them moving. Instead they sat there like idiots and I swear the conversation went as follows:
"dude where's the food?"
"I dunno man where's the food dude?"
And back and forth like this for a few minutes. Really, not the brightest beastie.
I do still have to wonder how they create more poo than food they consume?

My oldest son asks me today if rabbits lay eggs. I tell him no, that they're mammals and they have live babies like people do. He tells me if he gets a bunny he wants to have a boy bunny then cuz he doesnt want to have a lot of baby bunnies running around. I tell him that girl bunnies cant have babies unless there is a boy bunny too. He thinks about this for a second and says to me, "But only if they're married right?" Heehee :-)

Current mood: frustrated

I'm having a hard time with it so far, mostly because the two things I thought it would make my life easier for (blogging and etsy) is actually much much harder. I had to buy programs for the blogging (first it wouldn't blog, and then it wouldn't load photos). It won't load photos to etsy at all. ugh. And my fingers are too fat to type with it. I'm used to typing with my thumbs to text message and that is SO not working at all. Expect a lot of typos from me. The good news is I feel like this has the possibility to really tap me back into modern culture. I can get music and it works as a kindle so I can get books. I've been detached from music and books mostly for lack of money to attain them. Mind, it still costs to load them onto my phone but its waaaayyyy cheaper than buying them on cd or hardcover, and less crap to spill into the environment. So that's good. And I get free music from Pandora which is awesome. I just suck with new technology. There was a logical progression for people who kept up with technology- pager, cell phone, laptop, pda, blackberry, the iphone. i missed everything in between cell phone and iphone so this just has not been easy for me at all. Wish I could take a class or something.
