I know it is shocking to most that plus size chick work out. Even more surprising is that there are online clothing shops that offer plus size active wear.

I made a lens to feature some of the best active wear providers. Not surprisingly, it's called Plus Size Active Wear.

What do you do to stay active? I walk on a treadmill, kill a heavy bag, do yoga, tai chi and juggle.

Day 27 - Piles

No, not the things your mother always told you'd get if you sat on the cold pavement. I'm talking about the columns of paper that surround me and my desk. I have to-do piles all over the place. I have the immediate one directly right of me that continually goes up and down, up and down, throughout the week as I work on things and add new things too it.

Behind my computer, so in front of me but out of view, is the pile of stuff that I hide from sight because I'm avoiding it. And behind me on the dining room table (that is used as an extension of my desk) is a 12' pile of stuff I want to work on eventually but just haven't had the time to get over there to grab anything. Occasionally it gets dusted. I used to have a pile on the buffet on the other side but I consolidated a few weeks ago when I dusted.

Then there's the piles of lists and to-dos on my computer thanks to my handy dandy program - One Note. I'm addicted to piles.

I live in Eastern Ontario so I have had the great joy of a lot of snow fall over the last few days. Light and fluffy and now there is a "blowing snow warning" in effect.

This is how the day started after a light snow fall:

Going to Shovel (wasn't that bad) on 12seconds.tv

And within an hour it was this:

Watching More Snow on 12seconds.tv

If you look closely you can see the field of view is actually full of snow.

Here's a belated b-day gift from by SIL's son. I seriosly love it. It's blue and it's sparkly. This video doesn't do it complete justice but you get the idea.

Part of the routine here to get ready for Christmas is baking. Jeff has put in his usual requests for shortbread and fruitcake and I'll do my new usual Bailey's truffles. :)

I created a Christmas baking lens with other favorites we've made regularly in the past called A Sweet Christmas. I've also created three other baking lenses: Pineapple Cake, Lemon Meringue and Lavender Cookies; all of which I recommend you try.

Have a great week!

Day 26 - Art

Since my childhood I've been affected by art in some way, either my own or others. I was a doodler in grade school. My notebooks were laced with intricate patterns. At home I relished horses, unicorns and dragons.

In my early teens I broke open some fabric paints and painted a Harley Davidson eagle on one wall and a griffon on the other. I have pictures buried in a pile upstairs otherwise I'd show you. For now you have to take my word that they were impressive.

I loved drawing and was excited about the prospect of learning new forms. Until I met my grade 9 art teacher who turned me off of creating art. In a word she was a bitch. She picked favorites and she made it obvious to everyone. She had no use for me or my lack of understanding of color scales. I was constantly the 'example of what not to do'. Being a weak personality at the time, I chose to run instead of fight. I ended up dropping art (who drops art??) because of her constant ridicule. Looking back she reminds me of a resentful artist who got stuck teaching (loosely) art to a bunch of snotty nosed kids. And I still see her as a bitch. What can I say, I hold a grudge. Some people should not be teachers.

As I grew older my creative needs were met by other means. Knitting, crocheting and especially photography. I even got a job at a camera store to support my habit  (it's also where I met my husband). My first manual SLR camera was a Ricoh 20xp. I still have it and I still think it takes the best pictures. One of my unfulfilled dreams was to always have my own darkroom. With digital, not so much. Now I dream of a rocking digital camera. Like a Nikon D300, a complete dream unless I win the lottery.

As for viewing, I always had a love of soft forms, especially sculptures and of course anything to do with horses. These days the soft forms continue but they involve more women (although I still love horses).

I was introduced to a new author last week when one of her publicity underlings contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing her book. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for another book but I did complete a Who is Robin Kaye lens and Robin also guest blogged on my writing blog. I hope you enjoy getting to know her.

Current mood:  indifferent
I received a disturbing message at BellaOnline Large and Lovely site the other day that has been bugging me like a mosquito ever since.

people like you are the kind of people that make others get an eating dissorder

its sad how you help others make fun of big girls and you think its funy my friend has become very upset after reading this

I've emailed the woman several times about this trying to find the exact root of this message but she has only given me short curt messages that are of no help at all like:
yes, u have by providing fat jokes

and
the ones on your page.now could we just finish this conversation at once.

Now how am I suppose to know what she is referring to so I can make a proper assessement of my own behavior and the complaint (I have over 300 articles on the site)? It's so frustrating when people email comments like this but don't back it up with some information. It's like walking down the street and stopping in front of the first person you see and saying, "you're a bad person" then running away.

I have no problem with constructive criticism but this is just unhelpful crap that doesn't help anyone involved. {deep breath}

This summer I was introduced to Blended Matcha at Teopia. Well it was too expensive to drink this totally awesome beverage on a regular basis so I created my own low fat economical version. Not surprisingly I created a lens on my Blended Matcha. I haven't added the pictures yet but you'll get the just of the recipe.

Have you tried Matcha?

Day 25 - Clementines

For a third of the year I am addicted to clementine oranges. I'll have two with breakfast, two with lunch, two with supper and depending on how long the evening, two in the evening. They are small, sweet and I just can't get enough when they are in season. The season is going to start soon and I'm getting pretty excited.

What about you, do you have a 'signiture' fruit you seem to eat a lot?
