Every woman has been accused of PMS-ing. And according to a few websites, the average symptoms of PMS are:

  • Acne

  • Bloating and tender breasts.

  • Food cravings.

  • Lack of energy.

  • Cramps.

  • Headaches.

  • Low back pain.

  • Feel sad, angry, or anxious.

  • Be less alert.

  • Find it hard to focus on tasks.

  • Want to withdraw from family and friends.

  • Act in a forceful or hostile way.

I will admit, sometimes a woman can get a little moody, but can you blame us? You would be moody too if you had to deal with all of that too. So what about men, can they have PMS??? I have done a little research and found that men also get signs of PMS. They have even given it its own name IMS (Irritable Male Syndrome). There have been studies done that show that men do have most of the same symptoms that are considered PMS. They have yet to figure out why, but they are working on it.

So you may be wondering why I have decided to write a blog about PMS and men. Well I did say that I have been researching it... and that includes my very own male PMS-ing...lol. I have come to notice that when I would/should be PMS-ing, instead Nick is. He is usually really tired and a little snippy about little stupid things. Now don't get me wrong, I am not bitching about this, I actually find it quite amusing. So I had this discussion with him last night. Maybe it is just like women, they say that women who live together eventually have their periods around the same time. Maybe it runs the same with men and women living together, they PMS together.

And while I was researching this today, I found some interesting things. One was an article saying that IMS is just a reaction to the PMS-ing of women, and then when women are bitchy, it makes men bitchy. I thought this might have some grounds... but there are times that I am not bitchy at all and Nick still has IMS. lol. So I also found this really funny website (well I found it funny, other women might not, and men might find it useful...lmao!). It is www.trackyourbitch.com. And it advertises "PMS Warning System: Never be caught off guard again!" So I went to the website out of curiosity, and it has a calendar where you enter a girl’s name, the first day of their period, and either how long their cycle is or enter a second start date (you can track up to 4 girls at a time). After doing this, it brings you to a calendar with three colors on it, Blue for ovulation warning, Yellow for PMS caution and Red for PMS warning. And it even has little pictures as you scroll over the different days, a baby screaming on the ovulation warnings, an old woman holding a knife on the PMS caution, and her again holding a gun on the PMS warning days. You click on the days and there are strategies for the caution days (like faking sleep, avoidance, faking sick,), the PMS warning days take you to a page telling to you run, not hide, and the ovulation days take you straight to the TROJAN website. Now you can get email alerts, exchange stories, all kinds of stuff on this site. Like I said, I found it down right hilarious! And the only thing I think would make it funnier is if you could view 4 female's calendars together so that you knew when you were really screwed!

So anyway... really I was just picking on Nick last night telling him that he PMS's more than I do and then I told him I was going to blog about it. So here it is! Hope everyone enjoyed this and maybe got a little laugh out of it, I know I did!

So I haven't written a blog in a little while, well one that was important anyway:) And I just wanted to update everyone on the girls and such.

Jaylyn is loving school! She has a little problem talking, but look at her mother... no need to say more there lol. She is making friends so fast, always coming home and asking to call this one or that one, then she talks on the phone for like an hour! I thought I had another few years before all that started, guess I was wrong. But back to school, she is doing great! She reading, and not just her sight words, they do book-it and I told her to bring a book home from library that she could read, and she read the whole book to me, her dad, Aunt Dana, Grandma and even her sister. She has math homework and spelling tests... it just going on and on. I remember kindergarten when we learned our ABC's. She is also doing quite well with her sister. Always trying to tote her around and help out. It scares us sometimes because Cadence weighs 1/2 as much as Jaylyn does. But the last few days she has been helping a lot. I have been painting the living room and Jaylyn watched Cadence upstairs for me, so much help.

Now on to Cadence... the first few years are always so much fun! There are so many new milestones and everything is so exciting. She has 5 and almost 6 teeth now, she is walking just a little, 3 or 4 steps at the most. And she is such a stinker! She will take a few steps, but once she realizes that we are watching, she sinks. Oh and just like Jaylyn, she never stops talking. The fact that we cannot understand her does not stop her from letting us have it! there are days that she babbles and babbles and babbles. I can't believe it though, she will be 1 in just less than 2 weeks!

As for Nick and I, we are diong great! I love him more and more everyday. He is a great dad, although he doubts himself sometimes, but he really is, to both of the girls. We are very lucky to have him around.

So as for my siblings and their babies... they are all growing up so fast. For those who didn't know, both of my sisters have a little boy now. Mary is living in SC with her husband and son, Ace born 7-5-07. And Kimmy is getting ready to start cheering again for Basketball, and she just moved in with her boyfriend and his family, with her son, Titus born 5-29-07. And my brother is living in northern Ohio and has a good job up there. His little boy is quickly turning into a little man. Brecken just turned 5 on Nov. 6th. I got to talk to him that following weekend and just in talking to him you can tell how much he has grown up. And my other sister Kristina, her little girl AJ is 2 now and they live in northern Indiana. And I know the Tori isn't really my sister, but her anf her family are close enough! Tori and Richie are living in Bellefontaine now and the boys are doing good too. Dredain is in 1st grade already and will turn 7 in Jan. Devin in 4 now and going to preschool. It kinda sucks cauz I don't get to really see any of my nephews or my neice much at all. But myspace is great because I can always see pics and such on here.

Well that's about it, and I think this is long enough! lol. Hope every has a happy holiday!

So for those who may or may not know, both of my sisters (Mary & Kimmy) are pregnant! Kimmy is due any day now. Her actual due date is June 1st but her doctor told her if she doesn't progress over the next few days then he will start to get things going. So I will probably be an aunt again in the next week or so! Her belly is huge! But it is so cute, and only there at the belly, like a basketball-belly. I believe she has gained about 30 pounds now. We don't know what she is having, but I think it will be a girl, she's carrying a lot like I did with both of my girls. And if things haven't changed, I believe the names that her and Cody have picked out are... Titus James Kelly for a boy and Bridget Ann Kelly for a girl.

As for Mary, she is now living in South Carolina so unfortunately I don't get to see her and her belly grow. She does take plenty of pictures though, so thats nice. She has gotten big too, but again, all in the belly. She has gained 20 pounds and has about two months left. Her original due date was Jume 30th, but after her first ultrasound, they moved her due date back to July 20th. She is having a boy and, again unless things have changed (which I am sure my sisters will correct me here soon if I am) her and Billy Ray have decided to name him Ace. I can't wait till my wedding so that I can see them all!

I do have one pic of each of the girls and their bellies. If you want to see more you would have to look at their pages.

Cadence said her first word -DAD- this past Saturday (May17th). She is 5 months old now and probably about 20 pounds. She is always making more and more noises and we just happened to be laying around Saturday and I had my phone there, recording her jiberish and she said da-da! I will add the sound file to myspace, as soon as I figure out how (so if anyone knows how... please let me know)

Not too much else is new, still getting everything ready for the wedding, 2 1/2 months to go. Jaylyn is still doing great, just started t-ball so we are busy with that 3 nights a week.

So since my last update on the girls, a few things have happened  On the 4th Jaylyn had kindergarten Roundup and she did GREAT! 98/100, she just mixes up a few letters (tdp, they all sound the same). She is so excited to go to school. And for those who didn't already know, we are sending her to the Catholic School here in town. Ultimately for the better education, but also because Jaylyn has always shown a great interest in God so what better way to allow her to learn more about Him and school. And she has learned to tie her shoes, she is very proud of that!

So, on that note, last Sunday, the 13th, we baptised both of the girls. All of Nick's fam was here and so was my dad (Chris), mom & Kimmy. We made Dana (Nick's sister) and Mark ( a close friend of  ours) the girls' God Parents.

Also in the last few weeks, we have given Cadence baby Cereal for the first time, he loves it! Then this morning (17th) she rolled over belly to back! jaylyn and I were both there and I was able to get it on video... Once I have time to figure out how, I will put it on here o everyone can see    Today we also bought a sippy (transition) cup for her, she loves it! Which is great because I want to start getting her on the bottle/cup & formula and off breastmilk (just for my conveinence during the wedding)

Well thats all about our girls, everything is still great! We are so happy!  And just so everyone knows... I should be an aunt again in about a month and again another month after that!  BABIES BABIES BABIES!!!

jueves, abril 03, 2008

So today was another day of Doctor appointments. Baby’s go to the doctors so much...lol  So Cadence just had her 4-month check-up. She is now 16 lbs and 24 inches long. She has over doubled her birth weight... and she has rolls everywhere .  But it is SO cute!     Jaylyn had another eye doctor appointment today. They had time to look over her charts from her old doctor in Ohio and we have decided when we are going to have her eye surgery. April 25th, early early in the morning. She is a little scared, but we have been through this before and it is nothing to worry about, her eye will just be a little red for a few days. it is an out patient surgery (the actual procedure only last about 45 minutes). We are also looking into getting her new glasses, she was playing with her dad and somehow Nick and her broke the ones she has. We super-glued them back together (just on the corner) so you can’t even tell...lol.  So we were looking at glasses and Jaylyn found some she likes, but we are still looking. She has always had her cute little red glasses (forever!) so it is strange to see her in any other glasses. We haven’t ordered the new pair yet, we have to pick the pair we want first. Oh and we signed Jaylyn up for t-ball. She is excited! And she has kindergarten roundup/screening tomorrow for the catholic school here in town. Ultimately we are very blessed that both the girls are really healthy and happy!

So we had a long day on last Thursday (Jan 31st) with doctors appointments for both of the girls. Jaylyn had an eye doctors appointment. For those who didnt know, Jaylyn is blind in her right eye due to an underdeveloped optical nerve. It has been that way since she was born and she wears her glasses to protect her good eye. So we just went to the eye doctor here for the first time, basically just for a check up. He said everything was going just as before. He does suggest that we have eye muscle surgery again to straighten her eye before she starts kindergarten.

As for Cadence, she just had her two month check up. Yeah 2 months old already (well she will be in a few days). She had to get 3 shots so she was real happy...lol. Everything is fine with her. She is growing normally and doing everything she is suposed to be doing. She now is 23 inches long (she was born 21 in) and she is now 11 pounds 8 ounces (born 7 lbs, 5 oz). She is really chunking up now:)

So we had the at home nurse come to the house on Wednesday (Jan. 16th). She weighed Cadence and our little one is really gaining. She weighed in at 9 lbs 12 3/4 oz. She was only 7 lbs 5 oz when she was born, and 7 bs 8 oz on Dec 31st at her checkup when she was 3 weeks old. So within the last 2 weeks, she has gained 2 1/2 lbs. We all knew she was chunking up, her cheeks are really filliing out, along with her belly and shes beginning to get some extra meat on ler legs, but we never thought she would be almost 10 pounds now. It is so crazy. I will post pictures later
