28 weeks

Well I will be 28 weeks on Friday and so far I am holding up ok. I am on the weekly progesterone shots and now I am starting magnesium supplements to help control the contractions. Only 6 more weeks until I reach the point where he can be born safely.

We did come up with a name for our new little boy. He will be Liam Russell. We chose Liam together and Russell is Christian's grandfathers name.

I have my Gestational Diabetes test coming up on Tuesday and hopefully I will pass so I won't have to take the 3 hour test like I did with Kailey.

Well I guess that is all for now....

20 Week Ultrasound Results

I had my 20 week ultrasound today and everything
looks great. He weighs 13 oz already. I can't believe he is nearly a pound already. Wow. They didn't find anything wrong and said he looked great. What a relief. I have some 3D pics that I will upload later today. My cervix is measuring 4.9 again so everything is looking good.

20 Weeks

I hit 20 weeks today!!! That means if I go into preterm labor now I can go to labor and delivery and they will stop it!! Wooo Hoooo!!! Only 4 more weeks until viability! I have only gained 11 lbs so far so I am doing so much better than last time. I had gained 20 lbs by this time with Kailey so I shouldn't have much to lose after he is born. Thank God..lol. Today I feel like he is using my bladder as a kick toy. I swear I thought he was gonna kick right through it..lol. I got my second P17 shot today and once again it calmed my contractions. They had gotten really bad in the last couple of days but are gone now. Its too bad I can't get one every 3 days or so. Soon I will be able to take my Procardia again and manage this. Well at least we are on the right track. So far so good.

PreTerm Labor Begins!

Normally my PTL doesn't start until I am at least 22 weeks but its decided to come a bit earlier this time. I have been having contractions for about 2-3 weeks now and they are slowly getting stronger. Fortunately they have not caused any cervical change so that is a big relief. I will starting my progesterone (P17) shots either tomorrow or Monday. They should help out with my irritable uterus alot. Fortuneately I only have 4 more weeks until I am done working and can go on bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy. I just need to make it to 34 weeks but would love it if I actually made it to full term. I know..wishful thinking..lol

It's a Boy!!

During my ultrasound we took a sneak peek and sure enough plain as day there it was....I am having another little boy!!! A very nice finish to my family. Now all we have to do is come up with a name.........

Blood Results

I finally got the call today and got great news. My blood work for chromosomal abnormalities was completely normal. Combined with the NT scan I have the lowest possible risk of 1 in 8,000 for Downs and 1 in 10,000 for Trisomy 18. I am so happy. What a relief. I was worried since I will be 35 this month.

2nd Trimester

Well tomorrow marks the beginning of my second trimester! I am so happy. My morning sickness is subsiding and I am beginning to get more energy. I am starting to feel normal again. I bought my first pack of diapers for the new baby today. I am going to try to buy one pack a week until it's born so that I have a supply built up. I will have 2 in diapers for a while so it will help in the long run. I am hoping that since Kailey is a girl that maybe she will potty train earlier then the boys did. They were 3 and 3 1/2 before I got them completely trained. I would like to start around her 2nd birthday and go from there. I'm not even going to try it before the baby is born since she will probably revert back once this baby comes. Well I am off to bed now. Can't believe I am ready for bed at 11 pm when I took a 2 hour nap at 4 pm!!

NT Scan

Everything looked great on the ultrasound. The baby is now measuring ahead by 4 days. My risk of chromosomal abnormalities is low since the Nuchal Fold was very thin and they could see the nasal bone. I am so happy. I get my blood test back on Friday and I will have my actually ratios. So far things are going good.

LIFE UPDATE

Well I have made it to the 12 week mark in my pregnancy. I am still feeling very nauseous all of the time but the Zofran and Phenergan seem to be helping. Hopefully just a couple more weeks and I will feel better. I go in to the OB on Monday for my NT scan and find out the baby's risks for Downs Syndrome and other genetic abnormalities. I am sure it will all be fine but its good to know just in case. I would never terminate the pregnancy but if there was something wrong at least I would be prepared for it. On the upside I may be able to find out the baby's gender. They said more likely when I have my scans at 16 and 20 weeks it would be more likely but its possible at 12 weeks. So hard to believe. I am really showing now and my uterus is already about 2 inches below my belly button. I am much larger than I should be but that is mostly likely becuase this is my 5th baby and I just had a baby 14 months ago.
Things are going pretty well.. Sean's birthday is tommorrow and he gets to come home for the day. I am so excited to have him home finally. He will be starting to come home every other weekend for a day visit. That will be so nice. I have been going to see him twice a week and I do talk to him every night. He is doing well there. He is even doing better in school. I am so glad it is helping him.
Well I am off to run some errands and take care of some business. I will elaborate later.....
