ECSTASY Soundtrack Seeking Submissions

Submission Deadline: October 31, 2009 

What: ECSTASY film producers are looking for bands and artists to submit songs for consideration to be included in the film and soundtrack.  The winners will have their song in the film and on the soundtrack. 

 

When: Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2009 @ 12 midnight.

 

Who: Artists on the soundtrack: Paolo Nutini, Iggy Pop, Bob Marley, Supertramp, The Undertones, The Chemical Brothers and The Stone Roses.  ECSTASY's cast includes: Billy Boyd and Richard E. Grant.

I just returned from Abu Dhabi last week. One of my screenplays wasselected as a finalist for the Shasha Grant Screenplay competition andwas flown to Abu Dhabi for the Circle Conference.

For two dayswe traveled throughout the country on a retreat tolearn about BedouinCulture while getting to know the panelists attending the conference.
TheConference had panels everyday with a key note speaker everynightincluding: the directors Spike Lee, McG and actor Antonio Banderas.

Forthe competition, we were matched with mentors to hone our pitch, thenwe pitched some Hollywood heavyweights. Then we attended the openingnight of the Middle East Film Festival before returning home.

Iloved the experience of the retreat. It was so relaxing to be out inthe desert under the stars. The whole trip was the opportunity of alife time. I loved getting to know His Excellency Salem Ebrahim Al Mazrouei andhear about his culture and stories of living in Los Angeles. He was theperfect guide for the retreat and showing us the best of the Bedouinculture.

The mentor session gave me the opportunity to hone my pitch and feedback that my mentors Bob Yari and HalSadoff, Head of Film at ICM offered was great. It was a challenge topitch Kathleen Kennedy, Ashok Amritraj and Jim Gianopulos and I did notwin the competition. However, the trip was fantastic and for theexperience and the contacts, we are all winners.

Sitting the the BA Lounge at the Toronto airport. Jumping out of my skin I'm so excited. I've been invited to come and pitch some Film Producers and Directors at the Abu Dhabi Film Finance Circle, just prior to the Middle East Film Festival.

Some of the confirmed Panelists include Directors: Spike Lee, McG and producers Paula Wagner, Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Yari as well as financiers, agents and distributors.

This will prove to be a very interesting event.... Gotta run and catch that flight.

We have been approved for funding from another source, finally to shoot Ecstasy in an area North of Toronto.... Northern Ontario.

We still have a number of things to confirm and paperwork to complete an endless pile of paperwork... ARGH!

But alas, one day this pile will be finish and we will start shooting Ecstasy.
