Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to let all of you know that I'll be appearing on this
Monday's show!  I hope you all enjoyed last Monday's performance and I
guarantee that you're in for a treat come Monday.

We'll be dancing at the top of the broadcast and it will be a cha-cha,  jive and lindy hop medley to the hit song "Should I Stay or Should I Go".

I've been hard at work this weekend to give all of you a great show so if
you get a chance, please tune in.

Hey Guys,

Great news!

I choreographed two medleys for Monday’s show.  One will be a ballroom number featuring Quickstep, Foxtrot and Tango.  The other will of course be a Latin number featuring Paso, Rumba, and Samba.

But there’s even better news still…

I’m gonna be on Monday’s show!

That’s right, I’ll be performing in the numbers I choreographed and my partner will be Lacey!!

The other dancers that will be joining me on the floor include Jon, Anna, Dimitri and Kym.

Definitely tune in if you get the chance.  I promise to give it my all and hope you enjoy the choreography as well as the performance.

It’s all for you guys!!!!

Love,
Louisxxx

Hey Everyone,

So I'm sure you've heard by now that I will not be on this season's DWTS.  While it is disappointing news to hear, the casting process is very complex and sometimes things just don't work out.  But I want all of you to take heart in the fact that I will still be involved in much of the group choreography and results shows as I have been in seasons past.  When it is possible, I will definitely let you know in advance.

Also, although it's in the preliminary stages, I am proud to inform all of you out there that I am collaborating with an independent  producer to craft a touring show entitled BALLROOM WITH A TWIST.  The show is a blend of ballroom along with elements of jazz and hip-hop.  I am in the process of recruiting some top talent for the show so it should be a fabulous cast.  As a bonus, Barbara Eden will be making an appearance in select cities.  Mario Lopez will also be a be hosting the production during the productions run in Palm Springs!

The city lineup SO FAR is as follows:

Wabash, IN March 13
Palm Springs, CA March 27 and 28  with special host Mario Lopez

Newberry, SC April 23

Aurora, IL April 25 (matinee and evening show) with special guest Barbara Eden

Norfolk, VA April 29 (matinee and evening show) with special guest Barbara Eden
If there are any updates or additional dates, I will be listing them in an upcoming blog entry.

So eventhough I am not playing a major role in DWTS this season, I will have my hands full as you can see.

Stay tuned for more updates and thank you as always for your tireless support.

Love,
Louisxxx

Hey Everyone,

I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and off to a good start for the New Year.  Sorry I have not had a chance to post any updates in a couple of weeks.  Things got quite chaotic during the holiday season and I actually wrote some of this update earlier, just didn’t have the time to finish it until now and post it up.
Well, if you have not seen it on the web already, there’s a new hot cardio video starring Lisa Rinna called Dance Body Beautiful.  It’s been gaining a lot of traction and I am happy to inform you that while I do not appear in the actual DVD series, I was behind the creation and choreography of the production.
As many of you know, Lisa and I have been close friends ever since our partnership on Dancing With The Stars.  So this project was really a natural fit and we both had a lot of fun doing it.
And the best part is, is that it all aligns with my larger goal of helping people find a fun and easy way to learn dance while burning calories.
The launch party for the DVD was held on Dec. 9th which was a success and the official release was on Dec. 16th of last year.  We are fortunate to have Amazon.com, Warnervideo.com, and Best Buy as distribution channels and definitely hope all of you get a chance to check it out.
I think a lot of great things will happen in 2009.  I will certainly update you as new things develop.
Stay tuned for more updates and thank you all for your support!
Love,
Louisxxx

Hey Everyone,

There is an article that has been published in the recent issue of TV guide that has created a bit of a stir.  I feel I wanted to address this with everyone and dispel any rumors before they got out of hand.

The basic gist of the issue stemmed from a quote that was taken way out of context.

Some who have read this article were led to believe that I made an off-handed comment about issues concerning the weight of Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer.

The exact quote printed was, "If you want to gain weight, it's your prerogative."

What actually happened was that I had an informal conversation (not an interview) with a reporter that segwayed into the fact that there was no summer tour this year for DWTS.  As a result, many of the dancers including myself packed on a bit of weight.  I then stated that if us professionals wanted to gain weight, it was our prerogative, but it's really not an issue and once the new season arrived any summer pounds would likely be shed.   At no point did I ever single anyone out.  Neither Lacey's nor Cheryl's name was ever mentioned by me.

In fact, a couple of days ago, Cheryl had voiced a similar observation appearing on the Ellen Degeneres Show (you can see for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrxIx85DgdU) .   Cheryl and Ellen also discussed what looked to be the original root of this whole thing and it seems my quote was taken out of context in an effort to get further traction and mileage on the story.

The article goes on further to quote me as saying, "[People] look at this show to be inspired and think, 'If I just work hard enough, I can look like that...' If they watch someone who's dancing her butt off and she's still heavy, they can be discouraged. You have to take responsibility."

First of all, while I did say this, it was not "her" or" she" but rather about "WE".  Secondly, it was in reference to why the professionals all love doing DWTS.  The show is a source of inspiration for many people and so the responsibility is in part for professionals to try and look and perform their best so that they can serve as positive role models.  I think aside from great entertainment, the show is really about affecting lives in a positive way.

When I learned of this article, I was astonished that I had been so severely taken out of context.  I didn't even know I was in an interview to begin with!

So to set the record straight…

I DO NOT THINK NOR HAVE I SAID CHERYL AND LACEY ARE TOO OVERWEIGHT TO BE ON THE SHOW OR IN ANY OTHER SENSE.

Those of you who know me and who have been with me from the start know that this is not something I'd ever say.  Some of you have come to Cheryl and Lacey's defense and I applaud you for doing so.  I'd be offended as well if such things were said about me.

But the thing is, this article is just not accurate and it pains me to be put in this position.  I now have to defend myself on something that was completely distorted.

Cheryl is a good friend whom I have known for a long time and you can bet the first thing I did was talk to her when this news broke.  She is certain that I'd never say anything like that to hurt her and that these comments did not come out of my mouth in that way.

I complained immediately to the reporter because this was just not acceptable.  As some small comfort, I did receive an email from the reporter personally apologizing for misquoting me and the reporter then wrote an internal email to ABC explaining what had happened.

Although the article has already made it to print, I want all of you to know the truth behind this whole mess.   My colleagues like Cheryl and Lacey were friends first before any of us were ever on DWTS.  To this day, I have never spoken ill of any of my friends in that way and I never will.

It is important to help clear the air for all of you that have supported me for so long and that's why I've chosen to help explain this issue.

This portrayal of me is not only inaccurate; it's unfair and undeserved.

Don't always believe everything you read in articles literally.

I hope that we can move past this and onto better news.

Please be sure to vote this week for your favorite couple.

Love,
Louisxxx

Hey Everyone,

Hope you've all been well.  Sorry I have not written in a bit, but things here have been busy with the classes like you would not believe.  As many of you know, we recently expanded on the amount of classes being taught and it seems like that trend is going to continue for the forseeable future.

I am in good spirits and things are really looking up these days.

In fact even with classes aside, I am still busy with DWTS and have a new development to share.

I wanted to let all of you know that I will be performing on this Tuesday's results show with Karina Smirnoff.  It is going to be a jive to Brian Setzer Orchestra's "Rock This Town" and I think you will all enjoy it ;-).

We're looking forward to it and I am happy to get back on camera and perform for you all again.

Hope you will join Karina and I Tuesday evening.

Definitely stay tuned for more updates and as always, thanks so much for all the support!

Love,

Louisxxx
