Okay, I’m PISSED!
Yesterday, I was watching the news and this interesting item came up. A Catholic priest, Norman Sullivan, was given PROBATION for stealing more than $213,000 from the church collections. That’s right, I said 213 THOUSAND dollars, and the son of a bitch got only probation! He should have gotten jail time.
Apparently, he insisted on counting the collections himself and stole the money between 2000 and 2008 from ....Most.. ..Holy.. ..Redeemer.. ..Church..... He also stole around 1600 from a charitable game. I used to play Bingo at this church hall. I wonder how much money he stole from the Bingo kitty.
He used the money to fix up his house in ..Colden.., ..New York.., and properties he owned in ..Florida.. and the ..Virgin Islands...
So here again we see the HYPOCRISY of the Catholic Church. They preach that their priests are supposed to take a vow of poverty. But this guy owns property in ..Florida.. and the ..Virgin Islands..?
This is not the first Catholic priest that I know of that owns houses. How do they get to have houses? Are they earning wages as priests? Enough to buy property in the rich suburbs and other places?
Yet the Catholic Diocese has the nerve to plaster billboards with a sad-looking elderly nun and play the guilt trip on people.
“Remember how she taught you? Now she needs your help. Give to the Catholic Sisters’ Retirement Fund.”
Oh, how typical of the misogynistic Roman Catholic Church. The male priests own property, but the females have to depend on charity.
The other priest I mentioned who owned a house, owned a house in East Aurora, another swanky suburb of ....Buffalo..... He co-owned it with his partner. And they were both gay! I got nothing against gays, but come on! Doesn’t’ the Catholic Church preach against homosexuality? And to top it off, this particular priest turned out to be a child molester.
When the news of that first hit, back in 1988 or 89, I thought, “What? Father John couldn’t possibly harm a child. He was head of the Catholics in the ....West Seneca.. ..Development.. ..Center.... – for mentally challenged people. He loved kids. My cousin and I worked as volunteer religion teachers in the early 70’s under Fr. John. We couldn’t believe that he was a child predator. But the following week, he came on TV and admitted it. We were sick!
So now here we come to why I most pissed off --- these same hypocritical goody-goody two shoes Catholics, who condemn Wiccans and Pagans as immoral Satanists, need to look at themselves and take care of their own evil souls and leave mine alone.
I’m ready for the next time some Christian ninny comes and calls me immoral and a Satanist because I’m a Wiccan and a follower of The Goddess.
I am soooo glad I left that woman-hating, disgusting religion and answered my true calling.
