Holy friggin crap H. Jon Benjamin is playing Master Shake in the live action Aqua Teen Hunger Force special this Sunday night. I adore H. Jon Benjamin. He is one of the funniest people alive. He is going to make an awesome Master Shake! Can't wait to see it!
On a side note, at work today my Israeli manager walks by the register to do some manager stuff and as he does he mumbles to Rebehka and me, "I left my sandwich somewhere...." It was the most random thing for someone to say who is not currently looking for a sandwich. Needless to say, Rebehka and I were laughing about it for like 10 minutes.

The first Twilight movie was barely on the shelf, and people were already talking about the second one. So I catch a glimse of a movie poster for the second movie and all I have to say is how many Twilight movies do I have to sit through before we meet the hot vampire? Honestly! I can understand, though angrily, that he didn't appear in the first movie, but for gawd's sake, shouldn't he come out of the woodwork in the second one at least? Do I really have to wait for the third installment? At that point, it really is just a waste of a Netflix slot, even if you watch it the day it arrives and then immediately drive it to the post office so it gets back to Netflix the same day, assuring you that you will have your next movie the next day.
In other news, funny joke of the day: It comes from a Robot Chicken skit of a game show. The host calls attention to an image on a screen and asks the contestant to name what he sees. Without hesitation, the contestant proudly states that it's a TV monitor. Ha!

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-04-23/18-meter-lifesize-gundam-making-of-video-streamedThis is awesome. As part of the 30th anniversary of the first Gundam series, they're making a life-size, 18-meter statue of a Gundam mobile suit. This is what I love about the Japanese. No one in America would ever do this for a cartoon show. Even if Americans thought of it, no one would ever go through with getting the funding and what-not to actually do it. But the Japanese would and are! "Hey guys, you know this year is the 30th anniversary of the first Gundam series, what should we do for it?" "Hmm...let's build a life-size Gundam." "Why?" "Because it would be awesome!" "...that would be awesome. Ok, let's do it!" Those wild and crazy Japanese!

I was chatting with one of my brother's friends in WoW the other day, and the conversation got onto the topic of getting older. I told him that I really like growing up. Every year I feel sexier, more feminine, more like a woman, but he didn't entirely understand what I meant. He'd seen Cowboy Bebop, so I related the feeling to how people describe Julia. Few characters in the show have ever met her, but those who have always say the same thing. They all close their eyes, smile, and say, "She was a real woman." That's what I strive to be, and that's what I feel I become more and more as each year goes by. I hope one day people who know me can say that I'm "a real woman." My brother's friend said he liked that. He said so many girls strive to be these chicks on MTV and The Real World, but he preferred what I aim to be. And that made me smile.

Just wanted to post a little proof on how well the philosophy works. I only started the Yes Man program today, and already my usual Monday evening of raiding at home, alone, on my computer turned into a night on the town with my friend Amanda at UC. Things were going well, but I slipped and gave a no instead of a yes when a guy offered me his bar stool. Oops! Oh well. My yes's have even given Amanda a place to crash until Vince gets off of work in a couple hours. So far, the program is a great success!!

I think I just had a movie change my life. I know how silly that sounds, but seriously, I think it did. I just watched Yes Man, where the premise is this guy Carl (Jim Carrey) wants to change his boring, do-nothing life (hmm, sounds familiar). He never does anything and says no to everything. So he gets on this program and starts saying yes to everything. I am definitely a no-person. I say no to almost everything, and I hate it. I've always hated it, but quite frankly, it's cause I've always been afraid to say yes. I've always wanted to have a friend (like my old Melissa) who would stand there and tell me that I'm going because I'll have fun. Lol, I remember she would just keep saying "No, you're going," until I gave in, and it was great. But since I no longer have a Melissa, I'm gonna try this yes thing to get rid of this inner negative-nancy that has always been the bane of my existence. Now I just need friends to ask me things...meaning I need the friends. Oh well, one thing at a time.

Lady Luck has finally come to visit me again because I think I found a sublease! That's means come May 1st I am outta here! (insert crowd cheering)
The kinda sucky part is last night I got a surprise visit from my friend Amanda, who is a regular customer at work, and she and I discovered that we both lack peoples to hang out with. I told her that I'm always home and bored and she should never feel like she's intruding when she calls to hang out. So wouldn't you know it, we're hanging out again tonight. It only took me 2 years to make another regular friend, and I'm leaving! Lol, oh well, such is life.

Apparently this is my week for blogging, but I have to mention the Cowboy Bebop movie I just found out about. They're keeping most everything hush hush, and the only real leaks have been that the peoples (FOX) making it really want to stay true to the Bebop story and feel. Also, Keanu Reeves has been confirmed to play Spike Spiegel. First off, I think Keanu Reeves fits the look of Spike very well, so kudos there. Second, Spike is aloof as well as laid back. Keanu can definitely play the aloof part, but I am a little worried about the laid back, kinda-goofy part. Spike's humor is dry, so I don't think that will be a problem, either. As for the other characters, we don't yet, but my vote definitely goes to Ron Perlman for Jet Black. He blew my mind as Hellboy, and I think he'd make the perfect Jet Black. Someone on some blog suggested Uma Therman as Faye. I could see it, but I have to be honest, I've never been a big Uma Therman fan. I dunno, something about her looks bug me. God only knows who could play Ed. All in all, I'm very excited about this movie.
Edit: I did some more digging, and apparently I'm not the only one who thinks Ron Perlman would make a kick-ass Jet Black.
Edit 2: According to an article on the Anime News Network, Keanu Reeves sought out the role of Spike Speigel when he heard the rumors about the movie being made. In fact, he travelled to Japan twice to make sure it got made. In an interview when he confirmed his involvement, he emphasized the importance of the movie being pure to the series. I guess he's a Bebop fan!

I have been a James Bond fan ever since my parents first brought home the Diamonds are Forever VHS tape, and I was very skeptical of this latest Bond movie. However, I just watched it and I must say it's more like Bond then the past few movies have been. The action scenes were done very well. It really is refreshing to see some good old Hollywood punches being thrown as opposed to the trend where every action star seems to know kung foo. I'm even coming around on Daniel Craig as being Bond. He wasn't...stiff this time around. I even saw him smirk a few times! All in all, I give it a thumbs up.

After living here for 6 years, I'm finally making plans to leave Gainesville in August. I'll be going to school at USF, but I still haven't decided whether I'll be attending the Tampa campus or the St. Petersburg campus. I'm leaning towards going to the St. Petersburg campus, but the decision relies on a lot of factors that have yet to be decided.
It sucks thinking that I'm still trying to get my Bachelor's degree (though in a month I'll have an AA degree in hand), but if I had flown through my classes at UF I'd be heading towards a career that wouldn't make me happy. The plan after graduation from USF is still the same; go to graduate school as close to NYC as possible. Then I'll work my way into a marketing career and living in The Big Apple.
But getting back to the present, it kinda sucks that I just made a few wholesome friends, and I'll be leaving them in a few months. The worse part is leaving my best friend here. Distance certainly didn't help with the old one, so I can only hope things turn out better with the new one. Other than that, I'm excited about the move.
