Current mood: satisfied
I have the best boyfriend in the whole world and couldn't be happier with the way things are currently going for me (*knocks on wood*)...I refuse to let some douchebag who chose to try to be hurtful to mask his own jealousy and pain get me down because I am in love and I have a few really super awesome friends and an amazing family and that's more than enough for me...I have no time and no need for childish bullshit and high school style drama and thus I am done with a certain someone who is no longer appearing on my friends list. That is all.

Current mood: tired
So I thought I'd share with y'all some pics from my trip to Oklahoma last weekend...I went up there for my 5 year old nephew's b-day party...because it's really hard to say no to an "oh pleeeease Aunt Jessica, will you come to my birthday party? I really want you to"....but did Jess get to hit the pinata or anything cool??? NO! Apparently I'm too old for that...what kind of crap is that?? lol
Anyway...the most entertaining thing for me was my 11 month old nephew...who recently got himself a couple of teeth and that some of you have heard me refer to as the Slobber Monster....well, we gave him a Tootsie Pop....he was totally supervised while eating it, no worries...but I thought I'd share w/ you the before & after results...I thought it was hilarious..and gross at the same time, but he's a baby, so I guess I can let it slide....
Toby before the Tootsie Pop:

Toby during the Tootsie Pop:

and of course.....
Toby after the Tootsie Pop:

He managed to soak his own clothes AND get his slobber all over my mom too...it was classic...he was so content...I love this little guy...ha ha

six weird things
The first "player" of this game starts with the topic "six weird habits/things about yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a blog about their six weird habits/things as well as to state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next six people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "You've been tagged" in their MySpace comments and tell them to read your blog.
1. I don't eat blue M&M's...it's a long story.
2. It's easier for me to fall asleep if the tv is on.
3. I don't let my fingernails get more than 1/8 inch-ish long...I hate dirt under the fingernails, so no fingernails=no dirt underneath...it's simple logic really
4. I own a Tom Jones cd...that's weird...and you're jealous, I can tell.
5. I must have chapstick at all times...I can't stand to be without it.
6. I drink 100 oz of water or more a day...apparently I'm part camel.
My six people are: Molly, Manda, Ryan, Mel, Trinity, and Lorena.
Have fun!

Current mood: drained
So, I auditioned for American Idol today...and like 1000's of other people, I'm a reject!!! Well not really....it's a weird process...like, it's really hard to know what these people are looking for because there were some people who kicked ass that the producers passed on....like me for instance!! lol....the guy I had to sing for said I was really good, but passed...which actually made me feel kinda good about myself because a lot of people only got to sing for like 2 seconds and then he was just like...ok thanks, NEXT!! so, I'm kind of proud of myself just for going thru w/ it...it takes balls to stand at one of those tables in front of an auditorium full of people and belt out a song...so go me!!!
I may have witnessed the performances of some of the next William Hung wannabes...AND there was a guy in a dress!!!! AND there was some girl who seriously represented every Texas cliche possible...and she wasn't even from TEXAS!!! She had on a cowboy hat, strangler jeans, HUGE belt buckle, cowboy boots, and a bandana.....and trust me...that look so did not work for her....she was lame!!
Some people were crying when they got cut...I was celebrating outside w/ the rest of the losers I was waiting in line next to! I really liked the people who were like me and basically just auditioned for shits and giggles...and all you can think about the people who are getting all huffy and puffy is...you can't SERIOUSLY be banking your entire life on a reality tv show audition, can you? And apparently, some of them were so far off in LALA Land that they really thought this was IT for them....whatev dude...whatev...get over it!!
On a positive note for me.....there were a whole bunch of girls there who were super impressed with my haircut and my lovely blonde highlights....some gay guys thought I was just the cutest thing (isn't that just my luck, they weren't into chicks!), I got hit on by a lesbian, and some guy from New York that I stood next to in line asked me for my phone number...but I was sooooo not interested.
All in all it was a good self-esteem boosting day for Jess...so woohoo...I'm not going to be the next Kelly, or Carrie, or Clay just yet, but that's ok with me!! American Idol would've interferred w/ my trip to France & why would I ever want to miss trekking around Europe w/ my best friend!!!

Current mood: anxious
I'm a little nervous, but excited...and I'm effin tired because I stayed up until 3:30 this morning trying to finish my resume and cover letter even though i had to be at work by 7:30, but I officially applied today for a job as an admissions counselor at Texas State!! So, if I get it...I'll get to travel to the DFW area to recruit new students. I think this job is perfect for me and will be a great jumping off point since I am wanting to go back to grad schoool to get into student affairs related work. Who knows if I'll get this job, but it never hurts to try for something you really want. So wish me luck...my app, resume, and cover letter were submitted for review this afternoon!!

Current mood: cranky
Ok, so as if my job didn't suck enough already....they have been doing construction 1 wall away from me at my office....and it's loud, and it's noisy, and it smells bad, and it's hot in here because they have all the doors open and it's sucking out the cold air....this is like day 7 of me having a migraine and feeling like I need to vomit while I'm at work....and it blows...I mean if I really liked my job, it might not be so bad, but since I'm already totally bored and annoyed by the work that I'm doing....it just aggravates the situation....and what's worse????....NONE....not one of these construction guys is remotely attractive...yeah...there's no hot guy taking a break to get a diet coke here...in fact, I doubt these dudes have ever even heard of diet coke...or diet anything else for that matter...and the b.o. is ridiculous...it's called deodorant people!!! I'm tempted to buy a can of spray deodorant and just leave it in the room they're working in....is that rude?
While I'm bitching about stuff....let's talk about how freakin' glum the mood is around my family in SA-town this week....My big bro, his wife, and their herd of kids are moving to Oklahoma today...to live amongst my drunken hillbilly Indian relatives...which I know will be good for them...and the fam here knows it too, but they're all sad and depressed about my little nephew, Trey, being so far away....and as much as I love that kid, I'm not so much sad about that, as I am about how it's affecting everyone around me...I just feel totally helpless in this situation where so many of the people I love and care about are so down in the dumps...man...this week sucks....
Enough of me bitching....I don't really like to do it, but I had to get some of this stuff off my chest.

Current mood: exhausted
Ok, it's that time again kids...since I pretty much work, watch movies, and go out drinking from time to time....I thought I'd give you some more of my AWESOME movie reviews....
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory---you know I love Johnny Depp, right? but seriously...can we say Michael Jackson makes it to the big screen....he is the creepiest candy maker I've ever seen...While the movie was nice to look at, it lacked something that I still can't quite put my finger on....I give it a MEH
War of the Worlds---what seemed like it could have been a pretty cool movie with lots of death and destruction, turned into a sappy movie about being a responsible parent.....what the F? aliens are wandering the earth slaughtering people and Tom Cruise feels the need to tell me how to be a better parent (and I don't even have kids...thanks for nothing Tom!)...and don't even get me started on Dakota Fanning....is she ever not annoying in a movie? I give this one a....rent it when it comes to dvd, but only if you're REALLY bored
Fantastic Four---more like fantastic 1...the only good thing about this movie is Chris Evans who plays Johnny Storm..aka The Human Torch...he is the comic relief and the eye candy...now some of you fellas will say Jessica Alba is the eye candy...and i'll admit, she's pretty....but, her acting skills leave much to be desired....I give this one a....rent it on dvd, but only if the Lizzie Maguire movie is already checked out.
The Jacket---now I'm not a huge fan of Adrien Brody or Keira Knightly, but I actually thought the concept behind this movie was pretty interesting and the acting was decent....I give this one...1 1/2 thumbs up.
Cursed---who told Wes Craven it was ok to make the shittiest werewolf movie I've ever seen? that person should be slapped!! and, what's worse is the girl at blockbuster said to me, and i quote "the werewolves in that movie were awesome! they were so incredibly realistic looking"....this was as i was returning it to check out some other movies and so i said to her (in my oh-so-polite manner, of course) "are you kidding me!!!??? you're joking, right?...those things looked cheesier than a h.s. mascot costume"...and she got all butt-hurt about it...hey...i go to blockbuster to rent movies...not to make friends, so whatever....i give this a....OH HELL NO
and now......
WEDDING CRASHERS---i am sooooo not ashamed to admit that i laughed so hard at this movie, i nearly peed myself....and if i had been drinking milk, it would've come out of my nose....this is the funniest movie i've seen this year, and my 2nd favorite movie of the summer (Batman is still #1) Vince Vaughn is AWESOME, as usual...and Owen Wilson is good stuff too....i will probably go see this movie again before the weekend is over and i'm sure it will go into my massive movie collection when it goes to dvd....i give it...2 very enthusiastic thumbs up!!
as for other entertainment...
I highly recommend Dave & Buster's for drinks, midway games, and some good ol' shuffleboard....i had a blast last night...and it's the 1st time i've been drunk in a while....i decided i need to get out more!! time to stop being a hermit
and i'm going to try out this bar called Sherlock's on monday night because i hear some of the Spurs hang out there....and it's 1.25 drink night....woohoo....I'll let y'all know how it goes!!

Current mood: disappointed
Here's a quick and easy way for you to save 8 dollars this summer....DON'T see Fantastic 4....seriously...use that 8 bucks to buy some smack on the corner or to rent the classic dance movie..Center Stage!!! (yeah, that's how bad it is...i'm recommending old, shitty dvd's) Trust me the dance off action in that movie surpasses the bulk of the "action" in Fantastic 4. Here's what is sad about F4...the best thing about the movie is Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch....yeah, you heard me...the HORRIBLE (but HOT) actor from cinematic gems as Not Another Teen Movie, and Cellular...he is the funny one and the good looking one....oh, and who told Jessica Alba that she could act...I know dudes don't really care about her acting skills because they are too busy looking at her ass, but c'mon!!! she is the WORST actor in this movie....honestly....
So in conclusion kids....if it weren't for the fact that Best Buy sent me free passes to a special screening of this Craptastic 4 movie, I would NOT have gone to see it.... I give it 2 very enthusiastic thumbs down and I stick to what I said a few weeks back...BATMAN BEGINS is, thus far, the BEST movie of the summer.

Current mood:Go Spurs Go
Okay, so....if you are going to see just 1 movie this summer....go see Batman Begins.....it is flippin' sweet! This is by far the best Batman movie and Christian Bale is the best Batman by miles and miles (not to mention, he is also the best looking Batman EVER!!). His acting far surpasses that of the previous Batman actors. Morgan Freeman is awesome, Michael Caine is awesome, Liam Neeson and Ken Wantanabe are good stuff....the story is good, the directing is good....the only thing i'm not super psyched about is Katie Holmes because she talks out of the side of her mouth and it drives me nuts....her acting is not bad, but i cringed every single time she talked...Andrew laughed at me because he looked over one time when i was cringing really bad...i can't handle that talking out of the side of the mouth shit! So Jess says....GO SEE THIS MOVIE...it's totally worth the 5-10 bucks you'll spend...and when it hits dvd it will definitely be an addition to my massive movie collection!!
Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!
