Humeur actuelle :Heartbroken.
Life is short. That's been a really blatant reality for all of us these past few days. I don't know why God does the things He does sometimes. I guess that's why we call it "faith." We don't get it. We don't know why stuff happens. But we choose to follow Him anyway. I believe that Jesus grieves when He sees his children grieving. I believe that He is there to comfort us, even when it seems like He's the one who took them away.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." -Matthew 11:28-30
If you feel alone in the world, please know that you are loved - even if it doesn't seem like it. Find someone to talk to. Don't bury your pain. Let it out. It's okay to cry. It's okay to laugh. Like Kim said last night, whatever you are feeling - know that it's okay. There is no right or wrong way to grieve.
Jesus loves you.
I love you.
Your friends and family love you.
You are loved, you are important, and you matter.
Rest in peace Chris Barney.
Rest in peace Rory Brown.

You're It!
Here's how you play: Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random, facts, habits or goals about yourself, at the end choose 10 people to be tagged, list their names and why you tagged them. Don't forget to leave them a comment saying "You're It" and to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you, so since you can't tag me back let me know when you are done so that I can go read YOUR blog answers.
1) I LOVE flowers.
2) If I could spend every day at the beach I totally would.

"Actors are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day to day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime. Every day, actors face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get 'real jobs', and their own fear that they'll never work again. Every day they have to ignore the possibility that the vision to which they have dedicated their lives is a pipe dream. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life - the car, the family, the house, the nest egg. But they stay true to their dream in spite of sacrafices. Why? Because actors are willing to give their entire lives to a moment - to that line, that gesture, or that interpretation that will stir the audience's soul. Actors are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart. In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate onself to that moment is worth a thousand life times." -David Ackert, Los Angeles

So as I was on myspace the other day and saw my friend Daniel's bulletin about his New Year's Resolution. I really agreed with what he said, asked him if I could steal it and repost it, and he said yes. So that's what I did...
"There is no other time that people are presented in a more favorable light than at funerals. In these postmortem ceremonies, the deceased is revered for all of his or her good qualities by their friends and family, usually through stories that highlight these traits. This is a great tradition, but the thing that always strikes me as tragic is that the person can't hear these compliments, and a lot of the times never heard these things when they were living. After reflecting upon this thought, I have developed a lofty and ambitious New Year's Resolution. I will attempt to view everyone around me in a positive light, and to judge people on the basis of their merits instead of their flaws. Negativity can be infectious, especially when the person isn't there to face up to their attacks, which is what makes gossip so tempting: you can bag on someone with no punishment. I want to rise above that base instinct, and treat everyone, as morbid as it sounds, as if I was at their funeral, and seeing only the good things, whether they are there or not. Compliments and courtesy will be my main weapons, which will hopefully pierce away all of the hate around me. No one in this world is without fault, but that doesn't mean we should dwell on those things. I wish everyone a fantastic New Year's, and I know we all share in the hope that 2007 will be a joyful and peaceful year, even better than the last."
Amen, DK. And Happy New Year to everyone! :-)

The bad news: I didn't book it. The good news: 1. the reason and 2. the amazing story that I got out of it......here it is.
So I got to my manager's office and there were probably about forty people that were asked to come meet with the MTV people. The show was for, I quote, "IQ: the hipper, newer, trendier version of Jeopardy!" ya, i know cheesy but w/ever.
Anyway, they told us all to have a seat in the loby and handed us all a short quiz consisting of the DUMBEST QUESTIONS EVER hahaha! Seriously, anyone with even a moderate education would have gotten them right. For example, "Who wrote Romeo and Juliet?" "WHAT is the Mona Lisa?" "What continent is Australia on?" "What is the more common term for the phrase H2O?" hahahahhahaha!
So I turned in my quiz after about two minutes, wondering why everyone else was so intently writing and thinking, and about 15 minutes later I was called by the MTV lady along with about 5 guys to step outside and come "chat" with her. I was really excited because This seems like a really good thing in any audition situation - only 6 chatting with the casting director out of 40-some. However, she looked at us all and said:
"I'm sorry. I looked at your answers on the quiz, and you guys are too smart. I'm going to have to ask you to leave. You're free to go."
HAHHAHAAHAHAHHAAAAHHAHA!
Normally it's "too tall," "too short," "too whatever" but "TOO SMART?" HAHHAHAHAHAHA
I just thought it was really funny. So I thought I'd share.
???

Okay guys so here's the deal. I know a lot of you are anxious to come see Dracula at the Coronado Playhouse....I'm anxious to do the show!....but basically last night we had a meeting with the whole ensemble. Our director, AD, Technical Director, Producer, Composer, Co-Producer...you know, everybody got up on the stage and sat down and told us that they had been to a board meeting a few days ago. Well, as some of you know the new theatre was flooded about a month ago. We were going on as scheduled, however, because it was supposed to have been fixed within the next two weeks. Well, apparently the city doesn't know who to blame for the accident (the emergency sprinklers went off and no one stopped them and they flooded the entire building) and no one wants to pay for it. So they're still "investigating." They're saying now that it will be the end of November when it's fixed. The Pavillion, the old theatre, was just sold last week and is going to be demolished at the end of this month. So basically....we have an incredible show and no where to perform it.
The good news, however, is that the cast and crew all realize that this is too good a show to pass up. The chemistry of the whole cast, the special effects, the amazing director...everything is just really great. Therefore, we WILL be doing the show. It sucks that we're going to miss the Halloween aspect, but the show will go on. We are going to open up the new season with Dracula, and it's going to be RAD. So ya. I just wanted to give you all an update about the progress of the show, because I know a lot of you are interested in seeing it (yay!). Now we're just praying that the whole cast will be able to stay....Jeff, our "Dracula," is filming a movie for George Lucas (freakin awesome, i know LOL) so he hopes that it will work out to do both projects. But it should be fine. I know he wants to do the show, and he's amazing, so yeah. THE SHOW WILL GO ON!
It looks like we're going to be opening January 12 and running for 5 (hopefully 6) weekends, so basically all the way through Febuary. Thanks for your patience and continued support.....I hope you'll still be as excited about the show as I am come January!
Much love,
~Allison
