so i’m back from my little vacation to nyc.. i guess it wasn’t really so much a vacation. rather.. an investment on my future. but i just wanted to say.. hmm.. i got my internship offer.. my ticket towards the job that dreams are made of..
BUT.. as good as that news might deceivingly sound.. i have to say i wish i’d have been rejected... why you ask? well.. because even before i got home from the trip.. actually, even before i walked into that interview.. i knew i wasn’t going to take the offer. and isn’t it just much easier making a decision like this if you don’t have any choice at all, any offer? but as much as i think i’d love being paid to be surrounded by clothing and accessories, women... and of course gay men, all day at a fashion mag.. i’d much rather be close to home. yes.. here in WA. near my family... friends... and all the other crap that i’ve grown so used to i cant bear to be apart from now. haha. so i guess for me.. home is where the heart is? and since there seems to be no kind of job market for this sort of thing here in the NW.. i guess its a different route for me. unfortunate you say? well.. maybe not. let me enlighten you dear reader...
while interviewing with the panel of high end, snooty fashionistas, label whores and one uncommonly bitchy flaming homosexual man (he defn scared me the most)... i was uncomfortably questioning whether or not this might be the end of my great romance w/ ’fashion’ and all other prettiness that comes along w/ it. perhaps its not always the best idea to pursue a career doing what you love. no matter how great something might be there’s always those certain people that can ruin the one thing you thought could never be ruined. think about it, if you became a professional icecream taster, would you really be able enjoy it again when you know that you’ll be eating that shit everyday for the rest of your goddamn life?? nope. Didn’t think so. Hence.. all I have to say, is.. its good to be home. Well.. kinda but not really. U feel me right sujin? We went thru this..

anyways.. thanks Jane Magazine for the offer.. hope all I’ll be missing out on are fun filled days organizing the senior fashion editors contact list or some other bullshit task like it. ^_^

When in search.. I have a new motto to live by..

Always assume the worst in people and dont trust anyone.

To you this outlook may seem a bit pessimistic. However, upon further
investigation, it is indeed optimism in disguise. Lets face it, most
humans out there are selfish individuals, always looking out for
themselves. So when looking out there for a potential Mr. Right,
youve gotta assume theyre all scum. You keep this in mind while
looking beyond their perfect exteriors, past their material possessions
and behind those credentials. You examine each one in search of that
rotten core that is undoubtedly there. With no expectations comes the
benefit of no let down. Kick them away like the trash they are.
Through this arduous journey, eventually when you stumble upon that
one rare individual.. youll open them up, only to be surprised to find..
...pure treasure.
