Another wasteland has come and gone.  This was a really fun weekend.  On Friday I took off work.  I've been there two weeks and I've already asked for a day off.  I asked for this day off when I was offered the job.  Anyways I took Friday off so I could sleep in a little and be rested up for the weekend.  Well that didn't happen because I was too wound up on Thursday night and I didn't go to sleep till after 2 in the morning.  I woke up at 8 because the geese were outside making all kinds of noise.  I got up, walked outside and chased the geese back into the water.

I got to the hotel and met up with John so we could check into the hotel.  I started drinking with Barry, Alex, John, Steve, and Jason before the show opened.  We went in to the dealer room at 4:30 when the show started.  The first guest I met up with was Lamberto Bava.

Next was Brett Halsey

Then the man who has been in just about every movie ever made.  John Saxon.  He was really nice and gave me a free 8x10.

The legendary producer David Friedman.  David is almost completely blind and can't hear too well.  It was really nice to see him attend the show.

That was all I got on Friday night.  I ate dinner at the bar with Barry and Alex with Kristin joining us for a drink.  Then it was time for the 8:00 Q&A with Brett Halsey and John Saxon.  I was sitting back kind of far and the lighting wasn't that good in the room so the pictures didn't turn out that well.

The Kingdom of Spiders was showing on film so I decided to watch that.  Since I was drinking since 3:30 I had trouble staying awake.

A group of us just hung out the rest of the night drinking in the hotel lobby.  I ended up going to bed around 2.

On Saturday I woke up at 7 and was wide awake.  I tried to sleep longer but couldn't.  I got ready and had to go to the ATM to get more money because I spent too much on Friday.

The show started at 10 and I watched The Brain That Wouldn't Die.  That was a pretty good movie.  I decided to get the rest of my autographs.

Marilyn Chambers.  She still looks great.

Jeff Lieberman

Adrienne King from the first and second Friday the 13th.

Allan Kolman Migicovsky from Shivers.  This one was funny.  He told me that I looked like Robin Williams.  I told him that I wasn't as hairy or had the body odor of Robin Williams.  Then I said that I wasn't as funny which Allan responded I wouldn't say that.  Then he gave me a free 8x10.  Nice guy.

Tim Lucas and his wife Donna.  He wrote a huge book about Mario Bava.  He was selling it there and I decided to buy it for $250.  He signed it for me and the cool part was that Brett Halsey offered to sign it for me and he took it to John Saxon who also signed it.  Lamberto Bava also signed it.

The Lamberto Bava and Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni Q&A was at 1:30.  I got front row seats for this.

The Joe Knetter reading was later in the day.  It was crazy as always.  I did four shots of Rum.

The grindhouse panel was after this and once again I got front row seats.

We went to Pizza Hut after this for dinner.

The rest of the night was filled with a bunch of drinking and partying as with most wastelands are.  I have a bunch of pictures from the night posted in the Cinema Wasteland Fall 2008 pictures section.  One drunk guy decided to burn rubber with his car out in the front.  The lobby filled up with smoke and it smelled.  That cleared a bunch of people out and I decided to go to bed at that time.  I could've hung out longer.  Strange I drank so much over the weekend but never once felt drunk.

I went to bed around 4 and got up at 9.  I loaded up my car and hung out for a few hours.  I would've stayed to watch a few movies but I was too tired and just wanted to get home.

This was the only picture I took from Sunday.  Kane Hodder who played Jason in a few of the Friday the 13th movies.  He was really choking me.  I was about a few seconds from passing out.

Here is what I bought over the weekend.

The 12 pound Bava Book.

Here is everything that I got signed.

Friday the 13th poster now with Adrienne King's autograph on it.

That's it for this Cinema Wasteland and my final convention for 2008.  The next Wasteland show will be in April.  Thanks for reading.

The fall show for Cinema Wasteland is next weekend October 3rd - the 5th in Strongsville, Ohio. This will be the seventh show that I have been to and everyone has been a blast.  For those that don't know what kind of show it is; it is pretty much an expo celebrating the drive-in era horror and sci-fi movies with celebrities and memorabilia.  I will be there all weekend.  Friday and Saturday night you can find me hanging out by the hotel bar drinking an adult beverage of some kind.  I will be staying at the Holiday Inn this time and sharing a room with John.  I will take some pictures like I have in the past and post them.  I will be attending most of the guest panels and seeing some of the movies and just hanging out with a bunch of friends all weekend.  They put out the schedule ahead of time and it looks like I will be busy most of the weekend.   Black Devil Doll and Kingdom of the Spiders are two movies that I look forward to the most.

Here are some of the guests that will be there.

In central Ohio we get blizzards, hail storms, tornados, but I never thought we would get a hurricane.  On Sunday, hurricane ike passed though here.  It was classified as a hurricane because of the wind speed near 80 mph.  The power went off and on through out Sunday and went out for good around 6 Sunday Night.  It just came back on at 1 this afternoon.  I would've stayed with someone but everyone I know had lost power.

I haven't slept that much and have been extremely bored.  Sunday night a few of the neighbors all hung out and chatted for a bit.  The traffic light was out on Sawmill so everyone was treating that as a four way stop.  Well this Escalade decided to Boss Hogg his way through there with out stopping and slammed into a Toyota Camry.  We heard it and ran over to see it.  The lady in the Camry had to be helped out of her car and the Escalade went flying into the gas station on the corner.  The emergency vehicles arrived and took them to the hospital and cleared the intersection.  Without TV that was our excitement for the night.  The shopping center across the street from me got power back on Sunday night and the bank next to me and the apartment complex behind me all got power yesterday.  It took them an extra day to restore power to our place.

I am just glad to have power again and happy to see that there wasn't much damage around here other than a few trees getting blown over.  I had to through away most of everything in my refrigerator and freezer.  All the schools have been closed for the last few days.  They've already used two of their "snow" days so they better hope that we get a mild winter otherwise they will have a shorter spring break.

Many of you know that I've been out of work since January.  My previous job gave me a nice severance package and I was able to claim unemployment on top of that.  I was looking for work and at the same time I took some time off and relaxed.  Most people work from the age of 14 till the day they retire or pass away.  I was burned out with my last job so taking eight months off has really helped me out physically and mentally.  The downside was that the boredom of not working was wearing on me.

Last Friday I got a call from Doug at Exxcel Project Management offering me a job.  I got his number from a lady who worked with my mother.  I interviewed with him in June and again last month.  I ended up missing his call because I cleaned up my phone and turned it off and forgot to turn it back on till later that night.  So I went the weekend without knowing what the offer would be.  Then I called him first thing Monday morning only to have him tell me to come in on Wednesday to meet with him and to go over the proposal.  I was nervous for another two days.

I wanted to go to bed early last night but that didn't happen because my sister came over crying that her car wasn't working right.  Come to find out that her tire was flat.  She got fix a flat and pumped the tire up to drive home.  She called me at 2:30 to come get her because the tire went flat again.  I picked her ex-husband up and we went to change her tire.  I didn't get to bed till 3.  Luckily the meeting wasn't until 2 in the afternoon.  I wanted to go to the gym before but I couldn't get out of bed.

I met with Doug and got my job proposal.  I was very happy to see that it was for more than I was making at my last job.  The bad thing is that I don't get the vacation time that I had before.  That isn't a big deal because I am working again.  I will be getting health insurance again.  Since July for the first time in my life I've been without health insurance.  I could've stayed with COBRA but I realized that it was a scam so I got rid of it.

The office is located in downtown Columbus and I will start next Thursday September 18th.

The HorrorHound weekend in Pittsburgh has come to an end.  I met a ton of people and had a blast all weekend.

I left Friday around 10:00 for Pittsburgh.  It took around 3 and a half hours to get there.  It was an easy trip till I hit bumper to bumper traffic in Pittsburgh.  Runk called me and told me he got tickets for the Dawn screening so I wasn't worried about that anymore.  I got in super early and I decided to check out the mall.  That is the mall were they filmed Dawn of the Dead 30 years ago.  I recognized a few things but really this was just a mall and most of everything had changed.  It was 4:00 and the convention was starting so I headed over there.

I met up with Runk and Ed and walked around for a bit before getting any autographs.  I met Jovanka and Gary from Rue Morgue Magazine.  They were really nice all weekend.  I helped out at there table selling magazines all weekend.

The first autograph I got was William Forsythe.  He was really cool and signed my American Me DVD.

After that I got the Dawn of the Dead cast to sign my poster.

David Early

David Crawford

Frank Serrao

Mike Christopher

Then I met the two European guests who were both very nice.

Al Cliver

Ottaviano Dell'Acqua

Both together

That was it for the guests on Friday.  I helped out with the Rue Morgue table the rest of the night.  They showed the documentary Beware of the Moon at 9 and had a Q&A with Paul Davis, John Landis, and David Naughton before hand.  John Landis announced that this documentary would be on the Blu-ray release of An American Werewolf in London released next year.

After that we headed to the bar and hungout there most of the night.

Ed, Tall Paul, and me.

Runk let me crash on his couch this weekend.  He lives only a few miles from the ExpoMart.  The next morning we got up and ate gross McDonalds before heading to the convention.  There was a line for the American Werewolf in London cast.  I met Griffin Dunne and John Landis.

John Landis was super nice.  He signed my Animal House DVD and gave me a free 8x10 of the cast of Animal House.

John Amplas was next.  He never does conventions but he did this one.  He was really nice and talked to me for awhile.

Greg Nicotero.

Tom Savini

Jovanka.

A few people stopped by the Rue Morgue table and posed for pictures.

The HorrorHound Girls

I went out to eat with Runk, Rick, Tim Gross, and the DSK gang at BW3's.  It was fun talking about shit gloves, poop, and Shawn Michaels' wonky eye.  After that was the Dawn Screening.  Since I already posted a blog about that I won't go into it any further here.  That was it for Saturday night.  I wish I went back to the hotel bar because it sounded like a great time.

Sunday I spent most of the day at the Rue Morgue booth talking to people who stopped by.

Cyclopsfromkrull, Justin, and Monica

Doug Bradley

Ed and Runk took me out to the airport where some of Dawn of the Dead was filmed.  That was really cool.  The gates were locked but we found a way in.

Jovanka and Gary gave me a few T-shirts and a few issues of Rue Morgue as thanks for helping out.  They also took me out to dinner before driving home.  There were about 20 of us that went out to Outback Steakhouse.  Runk, Ed, and the ToeTag Crew.

That was it.  I had a great time and was very tired when I got home.

Here is what I got this weekend.

Here is what I got signed.

A gold ticket holder gave me this poster.

Sean Clark gave me this poster.  They did a great job with it.

I added Griffin Dunne to this poster.

I added Greg Nicotero to this poster.

I added Greg Nicotero and John Amplas to this poster.

I added John Amplas, Frank Serrao, David Crawford, David Early, and Mike Christopher to this poster.

That's it.  Thanks for reading.  I am really looking forward to Cinema Wasteland in October.

I decided to do a separate blog for this.

On Saturday, June 21st there was a screening planned for Dawn of the Dead inside the Monroeville Mall just outside of Pittsburgh.  For those that don't know, Dawn of the Dead was shot inside that mall 30 years ago.  A lot of people were coming in just for this screening as this movie has a huge cult following.  This went on in conjunction with the HorrorHound Weekend convention that took place right next to the mall.  They limited it to 500 people and it was sold out by the time the show started.

Over the past few weeks the screening was rumored to be cancelled due to copyright issues but they managed to resolve those issues and the screening played Saturday night.  There were several people that dressed up for the occasion.  We got there at 9:30 and waited in a huge line to be seated.  It was $10 for the screening and the proceeds went to charity.  They seated everyone around 10 and passed out popcorn and drinks.  It was shaping up to be a great night.  They brought up a few of the actors who played in the movie to say a few words.  The sound wasn't that great and the blowers keeping the screen up made it difficult to understand what they were saying.  The Mall wasn't made for this so that part was forgivable.  Then they auctioned off a few items and at 11 they started the show.

Originally they were going to show this on film but opted for the Blu-ray release instead.  Here comes the major problem.  They didn't program the lights in the mall to shut off.  As I found out the next day they programmed the wrong end of the mall.  This wasn't a problem they could fix making the movie unwatchable.  For me the sound wasn't an issue anymore.  I could hear the movie just fine.  People in the audience started talking to each other and not paying attention to the movie.  Then people just gave up on the movie and left the mall.  The actors all got up and left.  We lasted about 45 minutes before giving up.  The Ultimate Fighter Finale was on so Runk and I decided to watch that instead.  What could have been a great event turned into a disaster.  I doubt they will ever do something like this again.

HorrorHound is putting on another show.  This time it is in Pittsburgh.  It is next weekend June 20-22 at the Pittsburgh Expomart.  They have a list of movies they are showing and some of them look good.  The big event is the screening of Dawn of the Dead in the Monroeville mall on Saturday night.  Dawn of the Dead was filmed at that mall 30 years ago.  I am really looking forward to that but it is unknown if that screening will actually take place.  If it doesn't that's fine because I will still have a good time.  Also throughout the weekend I will be helping out at the Rue Morgue table.  It has been a long time since I've been to Pittsburgh so I really look forward to hanging out with some friends and drinking some beer.

For the second day in a row I went to the Memorial Tournament.  I was in pain when I woke up and really didn't sleep that well last night.

I put on lots of suntan lotion and headed out.  I got to my dad's at noon and we walked over to the tournament.  We hit a few holes and walked to the clubhouse on 18 and looked around the shop.  I didn't buy anything but my dad got a shirt.

After that we walked over to hole 14 and stayed there the rest of the time.  I was glad because it hurt to walk that much because of my sunburn.  Hole 14 had to be the toughest hole for the golfers.  It was rare to see someone make a par on it.

The marshal was strict and made sure the crowd was quiet when the golfers were taking shots.  He even pointed people out when they used there cell phones.  I felt for the guy because of the portable luxury boxes that they put next to that hole for businesses.  Those people were getting drunk and started to get rowdy.  Although it wasn't as bad this year as in previous years.  It could be because I am used to going on the weekend and this was during the week when most people were still at work.

The best part was when an older guy walked by the marshal and yelled out something about him having trouble keeping everyone quiet.  Without a moment of hesitation the marshal yelled back "Only with your big fat mouth running."

Most of the time it was overcast but it still felt like I was burning.  I have had enough of the tournament for the year.  I might go back on Sunday if my dad isn't using the tickets.

My dad got two tickets to the Memorial Tournament for this year.  For those that don't know, the Memorial Tournament is a PGA golf tournament held in Dublin, Ohio every year during the week of Memorial Day.  Anyways he told me that he wants them used because he could only go a few days.  It is a huge event around here and I've gone almost every year since we moved here back in 1979.  When I was in school we used to get the Tuesday of the tournament off which at that time was called Pro-Am Day were the professionals and amateurs play together.  So I took one for today which is the first official day of the tournament.  Since he lives close by the golf course, I park at his house and walk over.

I get there about 12:30 and watched for a little bit and watched a few greens and tee shots.  The first two days are slow because of the full field.  Then I just sat on 12 for the rest of the day.  12 is a par 3 water hole and the place were most of the people sit by.  There were a lot of great shots and I got to see a number of golfers.

I found myself sitting next to and talking to two 40 year old drunk women and two other guys.  It was solid entertainment.  They were nice and the girl with the fake boobs noticed that I was getting burned and proceeded to rub sun tan lotion on my legs.  For some reason I didn't mind.  And another reason was that I noticed that I was burning and started feeling it.  The nice thing about the 12th hole is that there is a beer tent right next to it.  Beer and the hot sun really don't mix with me.  I drank a few Amstel Lights since the people I was sitting next to were all drinking.

I stayed there till around 5 then walked back to my dad's house.

My dad's neighbor had a fish fry so I went over there.  There was a lot of food and I drank some more.  That is when I started to feel how bad I was burned.  It hurt to walk.  People were making fun of me but the good thing was there was a guy there that was even worse than me.

I put lotion on it when I got home but it hasn't helped much.  Tomorrow I get to do it all over again, but this time I am putting sun tan lotion on before I leave.

The radio show Bubba the Love Sponge were discussing podcast shows a few weeks back and had a deal were the fans can submit podcast shows so they can critique them. Well I submitted the Bloodtype Basement a podcast that I am a fan of and friends with Runk and Ed who are the guys who do the show.  Not thinking anything would come out of it, they sent me an e-mail asking me for my phone number because they chose the Bloodtype Basement for the podcast to review for the week.  The bit is called Podcast Willy and they played it on the Thursday show.

I thought for sure that they would be trashing it because they don't know what it's about and they aren't into horror movies. On Wednesday Bubba asked what it was and Spice Boy said that he was told it was five cuts of pure shit from the guy who pulled the clips.

The guy who took the cuts from the show only listened to the first five minutes.  So that was all that the show listened to.  Right off the bat they were impressed with the Eli Roth bumper that was on the podcast.  Then they listened to more and said that for an armature show they had their shit together.  They said that the host was able to get through everything without stumbling.  At the end Bubba said that they needed something other than two people talking like clips from movies, interviews, answering phone calls, and e-mails.  Again since they only pulled clips from the first five minutes they didn't get to the e-mail portion of the show.  Brent who is the shows producers is a big horror movie fan liked the show and said with a little bit of training the host could be great.

The 72 year old guy they have on the show, Ned, didn't like it but he pretty much doesn't like much of anything.  He said at one time "How much more of this shit do we have to listen to?"  The other three guys liked it.  The fifth show member, Spice Boy, wasn't in the studio at the time.  I am not sure how he would've reacted to it.

I actually called in at the end of the show and they put me right on and asked me questions about the show.  They wanted to know how he got Eli Roth but I couldn't answer that other than saying that they were able to get other people as well.  They also asked me how often they do the show.  All I said was that they haven't done a show in a few weeks because of work schedules and that they do the show on Friday nights in the middle of the night.  Then I mentioned that I had the K5 box set with a really low number.  Then they were impressed that I had number 8 and said that it was the lowest number of anyone that they heard from.  I was nervous as hell as I have never called into a national radio show before.

So it went over very well and the show didn't get trashed very much at all.  Hopefully bloodtypeonline.com will get a boost from the free publicity.

This show will air again on replay tonight from 1 to 5am and Saturday 3-7pm.

This morning at about 5:30 or so my bedroom door started to rattle and the blinds started to slap together.  The noise woke me up.  It was a strange sound.  At first I thought someone broke into my place but I wasn't awake enough to figure out what was going on.  Then I thought it might have been a bad storm because my bedroom window was open a little.  I looked outside and there were no signs of bad weather.  So I went back to sleep.

When I woke up I turned on the TV and the news was talking about an earthquake.  This came as a shock to me because I live in Ohio where there are no major earthquakes.  It didn't cause any damage or anything but it was the first time I felt an earthquake like that.

Another Cinema Wasteland has come and gone.  This was my favorite one so far.  I met a bunch of people and had a blast.

On Friday I checked into the motel.  I heard ahead of time that the motel was bought out a week ago but they kept the reservations.  I didn’t have any problems when I checked in other than they tried to charge me more.  The previous owner took all the computers with him when he sold the place.  I had my reservation printed out with me and showed them the price.  They knocked down the price some but I still had to pay more.  A few of my friends were staying in a room a few doors down from me.  The motel lost their reservations but they were still able to get a room.  They found out later that the room had no hot water.

I go over to the Holiday Inn and meet up with a few more friends.  We hung out until the convention started.  The first person I met was Dyanne Thorne who played Ilsa in a number of movies in the 70s.  She looked great for someone in their 70s.  She was very nice and hadn’t done a convention in a very long time so she wasn’t charging that much for her autograph.  She signed my poster for $10 and her husband Howard Maurer who was also in the movie signed my poster for free.  They did charge $20 if you wanted to take a picture with Dyanne.  They run a wedding chapel in Las Vegas so they brought a camera and would use their camera and print off a picture for you.  I passed on that. More on that later.

Next I met Don Edmonds.  He directed a few Ilsa movies.  He was a nice guy and signed my poster for me.

Next was the cast of Spider Baby.  Sid Haig was first.  I’ve met him a bunch of times so I asked him to flip off the camera.  He told me to and said when you look at the picture it will read Fuck You.

Beverly Washburn was next and she was a sweetheart.

Jack Hill has become my favorite director.  His movies are really good.

After all that we took a break and had dinner at the bar.  We took up three tables.  We finished in time for the European Horror Panel with Giovanni Lombardo Radice and Catriona MacColl.  That was in interesting Q&A in that Radice called Cannibal Ferox a piece of shit.  He also said the same thing about the director.

When the Q&A ended they went back to their tables and I went and talked to them.

Giovanni Lombardo Radice was very quiet.  I am sure he is tired after being in the states for over a month.

Catriona MacColl is a sweetheart.  She took a lot of time with everyone.

That was it for autographs on Friday.  We hung out and drank for the rest of the night.  It was freezing out so most everyone stayed in doors.  I only stayed up till 1:30 and was fine with that.  Some stayed up much later and were paying the price the next day.

Saturday rolls around and a group of us ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant before going into the dealer room.

The first person I met was Tom Towles.  Super nice guy.

Next I met Roy Frumkes again.  I met him a few years ago during the Street Trash reunion.  I had him sign my Street Trash DVD.

Austin Stoker from Assault on Precinct 13.  He looked like he was having a great time there.

Then I said hello to the Tog Tag Pictures crew.  They were all decked out for the show.  Crusty

Kristin called me and I was able to get rid of my extra weekend pass.  There were a few Q&As that afternoon.  The first one was the Ilsa Panel.

The second one was for Spider Baby.

We decided to go out to dinner at Pizza Hut.  It took over 90 minutes to get everyone together.  Eight of us went out and the Pizza was good.

We pretty much just hung out the rest of the night till Shock Waves screened.  I enjoyed that movie even though it seemed that the print was spliced together too much.

The rest of the night was filled with a lot of beer and a ton of people.  The group of us.

I stayed out till almost 4. I could have stayed out longer but I wanted some sleep.  There were still a ton of people in the lobby when I left.

I got to sleep in a little before checking out.  It was around 11 when I headed back over for the last day.  I watched Gimme Skeltor at noon.  Not the best movie but it was ok.

Ed got his things autographed from Dyanne Thorne.  She raised her price to $20 and her husband also decided to charge $20.  She caught on that she wasn’t charging enough.  Glad I got her autograph on Friday.  I did snap a few pictures of her signing Ed’s DVD.

The last person that I met was Robert Dix.

That was the end of the weekend.  Here are a few things that I got signed or bought over the weekend.  These are the DVDs that I bought or got.  The Most Offensive Comedy Ever Made DVD I found on Saturday night.  I got the Living and the Dead DVD from the Runk courtesy of the Bloodtype Online.

The rest of the stuff I got signed.

I only picked up an 8x10 from Jack Hill.  I already had the Roy Frumkes 8x10 I just had him sign it.

And my posters.

Thanks for reading.  I can’t wait for the next show.

The Spring show is next weekend April 4th - the 6th in Strongsville, Ohio. This will be the sixth show that I have been to and everyone has been a blast.  For those that don’t know what kind of show it is; it is pretty much an expo celebrating the drive-in era horror and sci-fi movies with celebrities and memorabilia.  I will be there all weekend.  Friday and Saturday night you can find me hanging out by the hotel bar drinking an adult beverage of some kind.  I will take some pictures like I have in the past and post them.  They have a one of the kind guest list this time which could make this their biggest show yet.  I will be attending most of the guest panels and seeing some of the movies.  They put out the schedule ahead of time and it looks like I will be busy most of the weekend.

Here are some of the guests that will be there.

We had a blizzard and it trapped us inside all day.  I shoveled once at noon and again at 7.  My neighbors actually pulled their blinds up just to watch me.  Nice.  They could have helped me out since I was shoveling the side walk and between the cars.  I have yet to see anyone from the association out clearing the snow.  They cleared it last night so I guess they think that was good enough.  They also blocked everyone in when they plowed the street.  Shoveling behind my car was the hardest part.  I am sure my back will be sore tomorrow.

We had planned on going to get something to eat but there was no way I was driving in this.  I saw a few SUVs spin out on the road in front of me while I was shoveling.  We decided to walk over to Burger King since that was the closest place to me.  The wind was blowing so hard that it made it difficult for me to breathe.  All that walking for nothing because Burger King was closed.  I guess I should have called first.  Oh well.  We just had to fix whatever I had in the fridge.  Grilled Cheese.  Yummy.  There wasn't any place open around me because it was a level two snow emergency which means only go on the road if you have to.  So again we had to fix something for dinner.  So it was a boring day of watching TV and shoveling the snow.  The good thing was the History Channel was running a marathon of the first season of the Ice Road Truckers.  Here are a few pictures I took tonight.

Here is my patio.  I went outside to measure the snow.  14".

The snow was piled up my back door.  I have a step that leads down to the patio and it still got that high.

Here is the sidewalk that I had to shovel twice today.

I got most of the snow off my car.

I hope this is the last of the snow.  I am ready for Spring.

I had a great time at the con this weekend. The hotel was big and I felt like I walked a ton this weekend. I spent way too much money but it was worth it. I finally met Romero and Elvira. The cast for Night of the Living Dead were also very nice.

I found it funny that I got excited over a few restaurants in the area that haven't been in Columbus in a long time.  Ritzy's and Fuddruckers.  We ate at Fuddruckers at Saturday for my birthday.  It was really good.

Before the convention started we watched Slaughter House. My friend Josette was in the movie for a few minutes. They had the director and actor's come up and talk about the film. After that was over the convention started and we headed down stairs to the dealer room. We got in Romero's line when we first got there. We didn't want to pay the extra $25 per ticket to get in an hour early so the line was long by the time we got in. It took us two hours and five minutes to get through it. It was worth it.

George Romero

Malcolm McDowell's line was also very long but it went by very quick.

Joe Pilato from Day of the Dead

Anthony Dileo from Day of the Dead

Courtney Gains from Children of the Corn

Kathleen Kinmont from Bride of Re-Animator

Tom Atkins

That was the end of the convention for Friday. We sat through a few movies. They were supposed to do a live commentary with Jim Wynorski and Kelli Maroney but that didn't work and they just talked about the film after it played. Then the last thing we watched was Wrestlemaniac.

These were taken on Saturday. The lines for autographs were really out of control. The lines for McDowell, Romero, and Elvira were just out of control and running into each other and blocking several vendors and other celebrities. They tried a ticket system but it failed. I managed to get through everything so I was happy about that.

Elvira. She was nice and took time to talk with everyone. Her assistant was also very helpful.

Judith O'Dea from Night of the Living Dead. She was really nice and we talked for a long time.

Marilyn Eastman from Night of the Living Dead. She took a fall earlier in the week and cracked a rib. She managed to get to the convention on Saturday. The picture didn't turn out that well.

George Kosana from Night of the Living Dead. The picture that I took with him on Saturday didn't turn out so he let me take another one on Sunday. That one didn't turn out that well either.

Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni from Demons 2

Director Jim Wynorski

Kelli Maroney from Chopping Mall. Jim Wynorski took this picture.

Ed Neal from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He was doing a Don Knotts impersonation making an obscene prank phone call. It was one of the funniest things I've heard.

We decided to check out Malcolm McDowell in his Q&A. They could have talked to him for hours. It was one of the best Q&As I've been to.
I love my new camera. I was sitting far away and I still got some great shots.

We watched a few movies Saturday night.  Red Victoria was first. It is an independent movie that they made for $5,000 over two years.  It was hard to get into but got better at the end.  Risen was after that.  It was a typical zombie movie that offered nothing new but it was well done and entertaining.

This is from Sunday. I was worn out by Sunday so I didn't do that much.

Scout Taylor Compton. She seemed surprised when I brought her a DVD of Wicked Little Things to sign.

Danielle Harris from the Halloween Movies

Here is a group shot of a few people I hungout with over the weekend.  Andy, Jill, Me, and Stacey.

Here is another group shot. Stacey, me, Jeremy, Shelly, Josette, and her boyfriend.

The airport is also huge and very confusing. We told the shuttle driver what terminal and airline we needed to be dropped off. We weren't aware that there was three terminal E's. He took us to the wrong one and it took us awhile to figure that out. We had a log walk to find the right terminal E. It also isn't good when you go through security only to find out that they gave you someone else's boarding pass.

Here is some of the things I bought or got signed over the weekend.

I bought the first DVD and it came with a soundtrack. I won Halloween 5 and Re-Animator from the Anchor Bay booth. The rest of the DVDs were from a gift bag from the celebrity party the night before. I didn't go but Jeremy and his wife did and brought me back a gift bag.

I got these signed.

Some 8x10s. The artwork on the bottom was from Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni who gave that to me for getting an 8x10.

The thing on the left is a cloth to clean glasses with that we got from Judith O'Dea.

Here are the posters I got signed.

I added Ed Neal to this poster.

I added Romero, Dileo, and Pilato to this poster.

I added Romero to this poster.

I added Romero, Kosana, Eastman, and O'Dea to this poster.

They were giving these posters away at the convention.

Thanks for reading this long blog.
