Another wonderful show. I am so happy to bring my music to folks who have never heard it before. What a perfect thing to do on the release of a record. Last night the boys invited me up to Adam's penthouse room at 21C, a posh hotel meets museum in Louisville, KY to celebrate. There was fantastic art everywhere, I was so inspired. There was a brilliant view of the water from a sprawling rooftop garden. I fell asleep watching this moving PBS documentary about the CCC, the first environmentalism movement started back in the Roosevelt administration. It was a beautiful, funny, mellow night to cap the debut of my record.
At the elevator there was an interactive installment of falling poetry. Adam caught me playing in the black and white projection with my flip cam. The internet on the bus is slow, i'll have to post the clip later.

It's a fun time out here. On the way to the gig yesterday I watched Pretty Woman with Jesse and James. The show was well received. Thank you Marray for the warm welcome.I was given the men's locker room as my dressing room. It was like 3 times the size of my place. Just me. Travis, the documentarian for M5 was kind enough to snap some photo's and gather some clip's of the night. We will get those posted soon for you. I stayed up late last night with Mickey and Jesse and our boy Travis and we shared our encounters with paranormal activity and theory's of how it happened and what it all meant. I passed out in my bunk and woke up in a parking lot under the freeway. We drove overnight. Today my self titled album is available everywhere! There is a parallel reality of the physical release of the music that is me and the physical release of my music on this tour. It feels very satisfying and right. I'm grateful for every good thing. Sending love into the world.... Muah.

IMG_7916-Edit-1-1 I'm pleased to make my first guest blog appearance on younghollywood.com
and announce that Maroon 5 is kidnapping me. It all started when I was a little girl singing for customers in my parents gas station in alaska. I grew up and moved to L.A. and before I knew it I was making a record. Along the way I became friends with M5. So there I was having lunch with my girlfriend when they called to say I was coming on their " Back-To-School" tour, or else. You see I am a singer/songwriter piano/guitar player & artist on Universal Republic Records and it just so happens that my major label debut titled " Kate Earl" hits stores on Nov 3rd. That night I will open for the fella's at a colleges in Louisville, Kentucky followed by a show in Rochester, New York. I will be on a tour bus with rockstars. No way. Charmed life I tell you. Or hard work? Timing? Who knows. The first night there will be an audience of 7,000 I hear... I watched "This Is It" tonight and took Michael Jackson's words with me. He said something like this to his touring companions: "There's nothing to be afraid of. It's a great adventure. We want to take them places they've never been before. We have to bring love back into the world."

I'm exploring non-profits to get involved with. I find the work inspiring. Nothing like a cold call eh? There's just so much to be done to make the world a better place. I better roll up my sleeves and pitch in, carry my weight as a citizen of the planet. It's a mad storm out there and I'd like to offer a little shelter. No harm in that. I do declare. Speaking of spreading good into the world, Miss Tristan Prettyman lifted my spirits when she came to my last show. She snapped some pics & I'm not surprised she take's a pretty picture no matter which side of the camera she's on... LOVE 10224_145587642521_631137521_3135846_7161814_n

Another fantastic birthday. My man organized a camping weekend out at cachuma lake. We had a great time. You must understand that an alaskan girl loves this kind of birthday. He kitted me out with a new trout pole and everything. I caught a perch and a bass, cleaned and gutted them on a tree stump and shortly thereafter served up some darn tasty fish taco's for dinner. It was great to be with friends and share wine from the local winery under the belly of the moon. To top it all off my best friend wrote from belize that she got "Katie" tattooed. It's an answer to the "Angelina" I got on a past new years day. Here's to new beginnings, It's going to be magical year because I'm blanketed in love!

Traditionally my favorite month. Halloween being my best holiday, 2nd to Christmas. This year may produce an Ewok figure. Not totally sure what James should be yet. At the moment we are planning a camping trip for my birthday. OMG another one. In Alaska the first snowfall usually comes in October. As a child I would pretend the snow came for me, ushering in the holidays. Just thought I should check in with everyone and let you know what I've been up to. Looking to do some home recording. There is an empty corner in my office begging to be occupied by a mini studio. We'll just have to get something done about that.
