So, after finally getting a new camera for Christmas and taking over 1000 pictures with it already I decided to start putting some up on webshots. I know most of you dont care, but I am posting the link and shamelessly self-promoting myself now... Why? Mostly because it keeps me from studying and actually thinking about how boring it is here in Monmouth, and really, I know you are as completely bored as I am...

Today I got a postcard in the mail asking me to be a sperm donor and that if I pass the application process and the screening period that I would be "well compensated" for my donation. I honestly do not know how to take this. I could start my global take over by having hundreds or little Toms running around, but I do not know how I would feel walking through the mall and seeing kids that look like me, act like me, and ask their mothers if I am their daddy. Hmmmm...

Money or the knowledge of who is my offspring. Tough choice, really, really tough choice.

And yes, the subject of this blog is taken directly from the postcard. I really want to know where they got my address since I do not have anything sent here except essential school information and a few bills. If the school gave them my address I have major questions, especailly since they are looking for college grads and professional students.

If you are interested in global domination through sperm takeover you too can be a participant by visiting www.123donate.com/gl

I cant make this shit up, I am not that creative anymore.

Back to school ONE week and I am already freaking out. No nice little transition time where we slowly ease our way back into the swing of things, lets hit the ground running with the first day back lasting 10 hours with only an hour for lunch.  On top of this lovely little marathon day, lets add the stress of having to pick rotations for next year, where the woman running the system could care less what you want or need. The talk starts with the lovely phrase that there will be no days off starting the third year of medical school except for one week for christmas and one week before fourth year. Oh and by the way, regardless of what hospital you put down if it doesnt fit your schedule we can place you whereever there is an opening. Nothing like the student comes first attitude. Fucking lottery systems.

Now on top of regular classes lets add a hospital visit a week, standardized patients, a path paper, a pharm paper and Step one review. Who needs to have any time to pick their nose or sleep anymore, we are all robots anyway.

To top it all off, nothing like introducing the subject of suicide in a two hour class where students are already freaking out about their futures and then stating the most common method of suicide.

Oh, and just in case I didnt make myself clear, MED SCHOOL SUCKS MAJOR ASS.

Thank you for joining in my rant...

Go Pennsyltuckey and stopping the insanity of inteligent design! Nothing like sticking it to the christan conservatives with trying to interject their ideas that Darwin was nuts and that God did everything. At least now students in central PA will know that evolution rules and that if they want to know about creationism they can go home and find out about it.

I just found this on cnn.com, and all I can say is that "experts" are some of the dumbest people in the world... You want proff read this: http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/04/14/prescription.bill/index.html Here I will even save you the trouble... Here is my favorite line from the thing... Brauer, president of Pharmacists for Life, told Reuters she believes doctors will eventually begin ordering women to abort disabled children, or refuse to treat them after birth. "They'll force women to kill their children ... It will be like China. It's the next logical step," she told Reuters. Now the article is on a legistlature that is in the works that refuses Pharmacists the right to deny filling perscriptions signed for by physicains.... No offence to pharmacists but it is none of their damn business what the hell the physician perscribed the medicine for... THEY ARE ONLY THERE TO FILL THE DAMN THING... Hmmm I think HIPPA protects the rights of patients and allows them to have annominity from these types of situations, but it seems like pharmacists in the south like to follow their own rules... IF A WOMAN WANTS TO GO ON BIRTH CONTROL IT IS HER RIGHT TO DO IT... What right does a pharmacists have to deny medicine to someone? Here Bauer is talking about how physicians are causing a slippery slope and we will be aborting anything that doesnt look "normal." Last I checked the Pill came out in the SIXTIES and not much has changed since then but improvements on the same formula... Where are all these babies that are being killed? Where are the physicans saying, "Oh your baby has a disability, lets scrap this one and try again..." WTF is wrong with people these days... Every fucking thing is a slippery slope... Everything is leading to the demoralization of youth... So now a woman who wants to be on the Pill or other means of birth control cant do it because some stick up his ass pharmacist wants to pretent he is better than everyone else? This is why the abortion rate is so high in this country, because two thirds of this country dont believe in educating youths about what really goes on.... Dear God, the stupidity of people amazes me... I cant wait till I get to tell a mother to kill her child because its all the rage in China...

today is a very sad day in Philadelphia. Today at midnight Y100, the ONLY alternative rock station in the city will go off the air and switch to urban. This will make three urban stations in the city, and NO alternative rock. There will be no more Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers, Weezer, Ramones, Greed Day, and numerous other bands that will cease to exist in Philadelphia without an outlet to new fans. This also means that there is also no chance for Motion City Soundtrack to find their way on the air in Philadelphia... There was one program on Y100 which they could have been played on, and now it is also gone. All I ask is that everyone goes to http://www.y100rocks.com and sign the petition to try to bring back Y100 to the Philadelphia area. Here are just a few of the facts about Y100: Speaking of facts, here's some numbers: In the time since Y100 signed on in 1993, the station has hosted more than 150 Sonic Sessions, held 8 FEZtivals and 8 FEASTivals, raised over 400 tons of food and donated more than $400,000 to charity via the Camp Out For Hunger and Sonic Session releases, supported local bands, played more than 1,250,000 songs (and just a few less commercials), and rocked Philadelphia 24/7/365 with more wit, humor, intelligence, and fun than any other station on the dial. And more importantly, it's been the musical hangout, home, and club for us - over 500,000 Philadelphians. Please help bring back the only station that is worth listening to in Philadelphia... I beg you... I cant force myself to listen to bubblegum pop, girl bands, boy bands, R&B, rap, hiphop, urban... I NEED MY ALT ROCK!!! If I sound desperate it is because as the clock nears midnight EST I will no long have the radio station that has brought me to appreciate Alternative Rock in all of its glory. Thanks, Tom

Wow... Ummmm... First blogs make me nervous... Dont really know what to say.... For anyone thinking about medical school, all I have to say is to make sure you really want it... Man does it suck... Class all day... Study all night... Weekends are no longer yours because you are studying just so you can pass the must pass cumulatilative biochem final... The worse part is that I just found out that there are four more must past cumulative finals on the way... Man I am going to need either speed to keep me awake or some Zoloff to keep me from killing all those that come in my path... On a lighter note, I now feel like an uncle... My bro and his gf just got a new puppy and I am up almost everyday playing with it and taking it on its bathroom walks... Man the damn thing is spoiled already... Oh well... I just got to make sure that I keep spoiling it so it gives them trouble after I leave... Isn't that the uncle's job? All I leave you all with is a few questions: Who the hell is actually reading this dribble? If you do read this are you entertained? When the hell is summer vacation coming so that I can feel as if I have some semblance of a life again... Ahhh enjoy your undergrad years because afterwards the harsh reality of real life sets in...
