I don't really have very much to say. I'm finished with the exhumation of the Kirstenhof graveyard. So I'm back at the museum and I've done absolutely no work because I've got too many emails, etc. to take care of... And I'm annoyed. I'm very, very annoyed. About a number of things, but it's okay. I'm not going to share them with you 'cause I don't think there's any need to do that. And I really can't imagine that you care. In other news, yay roleplaying tonight. I like roleplaying. It makes me happy. Many things make me happy, but this is one of them. And I like the people that I roleplay with, which hinges greatly on the bit where I like it at all. In other news, I've been doing silly things. For example, I've been wondering what I want to do with my life. Do I really want to do this work? Do I want to work with these people? And, if I don't, how do I extricate myself from them in a polite, tactful manner? And, more importantly, can I afford not to work for them? I don't know. I really, really don't. So I'll just carry on as usual for now, and go play in the Shire and at Pemberley and be nice and quiet over here.

so, I am at the museum and I am not working [how very shocking!]... I've been doing a lot of work and now my head hurts. I think I might be hungry... water isn't helping. but that is not the point - the point is that I am out of a muddy graveyard and in a building! I get to wear clean clothes all day [unless I spill something], I can sit on a chair! oh the excitment! of course, I'm still working with human remains, but some of us make those sorts of choices in our lives... otherwise, my feet are cold and I have nothing to say ("I have cold toes" ... hehehe, no one else will understand it unless they too have seen that computer thing to teach little ones ... something.)

'almost'... hehehe ... that still makes me think of paddeh! which means nothing to anyone 'cause tiina napoleon doesn't read this... I think. anyway, the exhumations are nearly over. a section that would have taken two weeks has been found to contain no burials and we're glad of that. 5.5 months is a long time to deal with dead people. yes, I know, lots of people do it every day of their lives and I might end up being one of them, but it's an awful long time to spend digging them out of the ground. philly is coming to visit tomorrow. she's very excited about it. so are we. the royal we. the royal we doesn't have much else to say, so she's going to go send tiina napoleon directions to panda mussolini's house. and don't ask why we're all named after european dictators [there was a hitler, a stalin and a lenin as well, if I remember correctly] ... I blame our high school history teacher.

I remember queen molly now. and I've just reread men at arms [and yes, it does only take me an hour or two to read a little book like that]... the problem now is, where do I find a velvet dress? I guess I've got more than a month to find it, but that's not the point.
at least it's going to be easier than mail... I guess.
I don't have much to say. I've eaten a lot of pizza and now I'm going back to emma.

so ... there are only 2 weeks to go. not that I'm counting. I'm one of today's generation - we believe that it's wrong to appear to enjoy or like anything or anyone. so I will pretend to be unexcited that one of the people I love is coming home after three months away.
I'll also pretend to be unexcited about the discworld larp. I think I'm going to have to go through those books and find out just who the hell Queen Molly is. if you know, let me know. tell me which book she's in. the name is vaguely familiar, but I just can't place it. My biggest fear is that I'm playing a dwarf - where on earth am I supposed to find chain mail? probably - almost certainly, someone I know owns it, but they won't own it in dwarf-size. not that I'm dwarf sized. although, Toulouse Lautrec [a dead french guy] was technically considered a dwarf and he was my height. of course his brothers and sisters, also carrying the dwarf genes, were of actual dwarf size.
but the point is, I hope I don't need to find mail. or clothing that looks like mail. although, I did really well as Queen Peninsula. and my goldilocks costume was so perfect!
but I'm not excited about either of these things and I'm not counting down the days to one of them. I don't even know what time his flight comes in. really...
what I am willing to admit to is that I'm bored. I could read a book, but then I want to eat and then I'll get fat. but I might not... I haven't yet, much to le wombat's disappointment.

I am not fond of the nrf. this will change if they give me money, of course. but my supervisor is not holding out much hope of that. and they're irritating me. not only do I have to do the whole thing online, but it goes somewhat slowly [well, the uploading of documents does... which is what I'm doing now] and then, as if that's not enough, then I have to print the entire thing out and take it to them. which irritates me. and costs me money. petrol is expensive and I won't be at work, I'll be driving around taking them little pieces of paper.
on the plus side I can get up late. that's a happy thought. I have plenty of happy thoughts. another happy thought is that there are only 20 more sleeps. yay! that makes me happy. I'd be a lot more happy if it was just 2, but then I'd be in wellington, not here...
I don't have a whole lot to say... we're mostly half-way through the site. as I was telling larissa [who I want to call saffy, after the chick in abfab, except that in her case it's straffon, not saffron...], it's not really half-way because the second half of the site is a bit bigger than the first ... and then there's still the entrance way, so having done two months, we've got two and a half to go. but conceptually we're half-way. and that's what's important.

so ... it's been a busy week - 65 exhumations in 3 days, most of which had human remains. and all the children/infants had teeth. well, I think there were 2 that didn't. but the other three hundred million did. a lot of work for nhlanhla and I, but worth it. particularly since we're not likely to be working tomorrow due to rain.
so we're going to go shopping. how exciting.
other exciting things: on tuesday we were mostly exhuming adults and mine had dentures and a blonde wig, despite being only 30-40 years old. although, my grandfather's had false teeth for at least 50 years [he's in his 70s] 'cause he just had bad teeth that kept crumbling. derrick, in the grave beside me, had a brown wig and oyama on my other side had a skull that had been cut, probably due to autopsy.
yesterday was rather boring in comparison and today was a reasonably short day. well, we were out of there by 4, which is always good in my opinion. one of the things we took out today [it was exposed yesterday] was a child [5-7 years old] that had 48 teeth in its mouth. aside from the M3s, which hadn't started to develop yet, that's all the teeth it could possible have! we could see the deciduous teeth in the jaw and the permanent teeth below them in the jaw, still calcifying! it's so cool!
not much else to say. except that I hate undertakers. they're worthless bastards. on tuesday they were late. yesterday, because I didn't have my phone in my pocket and didn't hear it ring, they thought they didn't have to come. they're supposed to come EVERY DAY at 4:30 unless we tell them otherwise, or it's raining. and they know this! and then the guy eventually pitched up and wanted to shout at nhlanhla and I ... we were having none of that. I yelled at him. I don't do it often. very rarely in fact. it takes a lot to make me lose my temper ... unless you are [or work for] an undertaker, apparently.
the other exciting thing that happened this week - our house started to fall apart... so there nhlanhla and I were, sleeping, which is what one should be doing at 3:30 in the morning... we were rudely awoked by a loud noise and eventually got up to go and check it out ... the thing between the wall and the ceiling had fallen down. luckily not over one of us. worthless modern construction, is all I have to say.

So, I am in wellington. it's raining [not at the moment though], so we've only done a half day's work today. we don't get paid when we don't work. so I didn't get paid for having flu and I don't get paid for having an afternoon off.
but I have a warm, fluffy blanket now.
in other news, judy has still not emailed me. and you're all lucky for that - if she had I would not be spending copious amounts of money at an internet cafe... I'd be curled up on the couch in my warm fluffy blanket reading a book.
we're making something new for supper though - I'm excited about it. it sounds like it's going to be really nice! Nhlanhla [my site supervisor and house mate for the duration of the project] bought a recipe book and there are some really wonderful things in there... things I'm quite keen to try. or have my mother try.
in other news, the guy that I thought was hitting on me ... is probably hitting on me. which is just rude! if you're going to hit on me you should have the decency to either be someone that I'm interested in or do it in such a manner that I don't notice you're doing it. because now it becomes my problem and I do not appreciate that!
I don't have very much to say... I'm just babbling 'cause Nhlanhla's busy communicating with her prospective supervisor [who is Dutch. this means that despite knowing next to nothing about her and living on a completely different continent, he still bothers to respond to her emails. unlike judy.] about her proposed phd project... well, they're trying to work one out...
and then we're off to spar for the rest of the ingredients we need.

so, I think I've finally settled on a name. GraveRobber. it's the name I had on the wiki and the tiki and all of them... and, strangely enough, it's the name I'm most comfortable with. while I like both Anna and Evelyn, neither of them have been sitting comfortably with me. it remains to be seen how long this will last, but it has served me faithfully and at length in the past.
the only concern now is that those from the wiki or the tiki might recognise me. of course, I'm not making any attempt to disguis myself. if I were, I'd be pretending to be a 54 year old male dog trainer from shanghai... or something
in other news, the nrf has been [almost] tamed. I need only input from judy ... oh if only she replies! I shall be happy. I shall fly on golden wings to her office. I might just go anyway...
I put lots of pictures up. but I got bored, so I stopped. I like this one. it's got my ellie in it. I'm very fond of my ellie because it's winter and my ellie is a hot water bottle. not always necessary, but very useful when one sleeps alone.
