Hi Everyone!

It's almost time for some great gigs!

We firstly play at the Excelsior on the 26th with Panzer Queen, Solkyri and Valar and then we're off to the High and Dry festival!

Here's what you can expect!! :)

Three full days of arts, music, camping and ridiculous fun in the most magical setting of Camp Wollimi, just two hours North of Sydney.

Spend the final weekend in November relaxing on the sandy riverbank by day and partying to some of Australia's finest independent musicians by night - what's more, High&Dry is Sydney's only BYO festival.

Expect a full-fleshed arts program too; interactive installation, twisted sculpture and cutting edge theatre.

High&Dry is not for profit, independent, and is funded one hundred per cent by its participants. That means there is no corporate or government sponsorship of any sort; every single dollar comes from the hard-earned pockets of the very same people grooving to the tunes, splashing in the river and soaking up the sunshine next to you

Hope to see you there!!

Hi Everyone,

I can finally and proudly reveal that we are getting our promotional photo's taken!!

We have been extremely fortunate to have the help of Susan at Dark side Masks International help us out with some of their very cool Basel theatrical masks - and all for free!! Susan has gone out of her way to help us in this project so we would like to express our deep gratitude to her. If any of you are in the theatrical business or just want a really cool looking mask for a party, check them out!!

Our good friend Corinna will be using her excellent camera skills to good use and taking some interesting and amusing shots of us!

Our shoot is next Sunday bright and early, we are getting numbers for "extras" as we need a few people to help us out with the shot. I'll put out an invite in the next few days when we know final numbers.

We'll keep you posted very soon!

Thanks!

Dan, Alison and Cameron

We've finally settled into the writing/jam sessions for the material that will become part of the next record. it seems like its been ages and for those that have been stinging for something new, rest assured that we are actually working pretty hard, instead of playing xbox at home.

We're also playing 3 gigs over may/june, details of which will be added in the next day or so.

I would also like to take this opportunity to recommend that everyone checkout sleepmakeswaves new split EP with Tangled thoughts of leaving. It will absolutely floor you.

that is all.

We've moved the snippets of the EP reviews that we've been receiving to it's own space. Feel free to post your own review here as well...

“Meniscus have come up with a winner: a staggeringly confident and
competent debut release that shows a sort of compositional maturity
that many bands on their fifth release would strive to achieve.
Beautifully crafted and impeccably conceived, this had better be a sign
of what’s yet to come.”     -The Silent Ballet

"Utilising the standard three-piece bass/drums/guitar format and all manner of processors to manipulate those basic sounds into a seemingly inexhaustible spectrum of possibilities, the purely instrumental Meniscus takes us back to the kind of languorous sonic territory the psychedelic/progressive rock acts of the early '70s like Pink floyd, Tangerine Dream and King crimson were exploring in the UK, and Essendon Airport (Melbourne) and SPK (Sydney) were rediscovering in the early '80s. Evocative, Provocative, there are no compromises across the 45-minutes of these four/five songs."
- The Drum Media

"Meniscus' debut EP is a mesmerizing mixture of post-rock and post-metal, completely instrumental but never boring. Somewhat alike in style to The Pax Cecilia and Junius, these guys sound very promising."
- Spiral Circus

"Great music pops up in all corners of the globe, and Meniscus is testament to that fact. ..  Not many people may know who Meniscus is right now, but if this is an indication of what’s to come from the group, that will change very quickly."
- Bad Taste

"At only four songs long, Meniscus’ Absence of I EP is the perfect length for a breath of post-rock that isn’t stifling, adding something fresh to a scene that seems forever to be teetering on the edge of blandness. Technically brilliant and tightly composed, here’s to a full length!"

Since the last two months have been a little slow-going, I've decided to post up a track that I've been brewing over the last few weeks. It's definitely a work-in-progress, but it will act as a little teaser to some of the stuff I've been working on. I'll only have it up here for a week or so.

Cheers,
Daniel
