Before long I will be back on Irish soil for a time to promote the release of Little Palaceís new single, 'Beekeeper'.  It is the third single to be released off of our 'reunion' album, Invitation Time.  Thanks to all of you who have shown your support by picking up the CD and the singles or attending the odd gig.

While I am in Ireland, I will be playing three gigs together with Little Palace we will start off at The Village in Dublin on 5 November, play my hometown of Kells on Saturday night (7 November) at Headfort Arms,  and finish things off in the Backroom in Navan on 12 November.  We will even make an appearance on Pat Kenny on 4 November, so be sure to tune in!

In my spare time, I will be traversing the country to make radio appearances to promote my latest release, Live in New York.  I will be on Irish Beats with Rob O'Connor in Waterford on the evening of Sunday the 8th , from 6-8p. Monday the 9th, I will be joining Edwina Grace in Kilkenny for her show from 3-7 and hope to do a couple of songs.  Tuesday, 10 November, tune in to 4FM's Guaranteed Irish with Dave Heffernan between 9-10 to catch me there.
There might be some more visits and surprises along the way the best way to make sure that you don't miss anything is to keep an eye on my Facebook page where I will be keeping you all apprised of (and reminded of) appearances.

Before I go, I want to urge anyone who hasn't taken advantage of the exclusive fan content free download on ReverbNation to head over there soon, because when I come back from Ireland, that song is coming down and I will have a new one to share with you as a way of saying thanks for your support.  Take advantage and download 'Wounded Knee' from New York Cityís Joe's Pub from 6 March, 2008.  All you need to do is to input your email address and you can have your download.

Folks,

So it's that time again... no not Autumn...

Time for Markie to do an about face... confound the confounders... baffle the bafflers and generally be the spinning top that gleefully escapes the table for freedom...

WTF Markie???

I'm leaving her..!

Huh??? (says you)

No, not my wife... you're getting it all wrong! (says I)

I'm mean the other "her"... Alcohol! (Whispers I)

Sharp intake of breath (says you, with wide eyed astonishment)

We're drawing up the papers and talking about what belongs to me and what belongs to her.

Naturally I'll get the kids... (to be honest... just can't trust her with them!)

The cat is a tough one... ((Grin))

I've done this a couple of times in my drinking life... where I spend a year or maybe more  forgoing the late night lusty charms of herself and her cohorts...

It was wonderful and quite revealing of the inner workings of some people around me, who were quite disturbed at my unfolding myself from the ranks... (taping a finger to his temple... "So tell me about YOUR childhoods...")

It's not a fear thing... lest ye be looking at me that way... To be sure, there isn't a pint glass in this world that can take me on, nor knock me over (Well OK.... maybe)...

I've just been so busy lately... that I can't afford the hangover time anymore...

Those that know me... Know..! I love to hang out... love to party... love to be the last out of the bar with several new jokes in my pocket, singing "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now" (and it's often true)...

But in this business... I'm in bars all the time (practically) and well... that bit is great... but the mornings..!!! The early afternoons..!!!

I've tried a campaign to have them banned completely from musician's lives, but alas to no avail... so I've been forced to act locally and buy soberly!

I won't deny, there's a bit of sadness attached to this momentous decision... there is a hint of a tear to be gleamed, if you are to look close enough. I'm man enough to admit it...

For there have been many, many great, almost memories... that I've been told about... and a fair amount, have involved the great revelry, of myself and that mischievous pixie love of mine...

So it's with heavy heart, a lighter glass and new hope for the future that I amble toward the sunset this evening, kicking an empty Guinness can (the widget rattling away inside)...

Wish me luck friends... Commiserate with kind pats on the back for my loss... bow your heads if you are naturally stuck for words.. and I can't blame ye... it's tough times for all of us... and please believe, that I have the strength to bounce back from this... for as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive...........

Ok... Here it is... I'm going in...!..............................................................................................................

...................................................................................

And but, sure.. who knows?

Perhaps when the time is right... me and her....

We may just kiss and make up...

We'll give it some time and see...

     * * * FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE * * *

Michael Brunnock’s second live CD, entitled Live in New York, will be released worldwide on September 1st 2009.
The CD, which is a recording of the release party for his solo debut, So I Doon June 10, 2007, at The Living Room in New York City, almost didn’t happen.
The show was recorded for XM radio, with no intent to release it to the public.  It was only after the death of legendary R&B performer, Moe Holmes, on February 12, 2008, that the wheels began to turn.  Holmes, who was the leader of The Voices of East Harlem and who toured with Ike and Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix and Santana in the 1960s, was still active in the New York music scene up until his death.  When Brunnock saw him sing for the first time, he was spellbound; Holmes’s performance moved him to tears.  The two became friends and at the release party for So I Do, Holmes was invited onstage to sing on Brunnock’s phenomenal ballad “Sensation.”
The resulting song from this collaboration was so special to Brunnock that, after Holmes's death, he began to work to get it released to as wide an audience as he could, thus resulting in Live in New York. The disc features 12 songs, mostly selections from So I Do, with four previously-unreleased songs, including "Sensation."  It also includes rare live performances of "Born Again" and "Niagara Falls," which are not generally played at acoustic shows as they benefit from the full band.
“Moe grew up singing gospel.  He brought that authentic passion into everything he sang.  We both had a residency on Bleecker Street and Moe would join me after his set.  He could take the lead or riff over my vocals.  He had a sharp wit.  It was an honor to have shared the stage with Moe.  He was an amazing performer.  I learned a lot from him and felt a deep respect and friendship.”
Brunnock, a native of Co. Meath, Ireland, relocated to New York City, where he has spent the past 7 years making a name for himself in the live music scene.  He is a founding member of the innovative FairplayCollective, a union of like-minded artists who support each other in all aspects of making and performing music.  He has shared the bill with artists such as Once's The Swell Season and The Frames, Paddy Casey, Dead Can Dance,  Declan O’Rourke, and Foy Vance.
Live in New York is available from Amazon mp3 downloads. Physical CD is available from CD Freedom, and the MP3 download includes "Fallen Leaves" for free. The CD will soon be available through the usual online music outlets (iTunes, Rhapsody, Emusic, Napster, and CD Baby).
Michael will return to Ireland in August for a show with Little Palace as part of the Le Cheille Festival in his hometown of Kells.
