*****

Hello everyone! Particularly to my friends who live in/around NYC and Philadelphia!

I worked on Corridor (choreographed by Lucy Guerin) as a composer/sound designer in Melbourne, Australia last year. There are 12 under-seat speakers, 4 loud speakers, and 2 sub speakers for using my sounds. I won't stay during the shows in the US, but every sound has been set with the operator.
Corridor is a special, experimental, and beautiful show with 6 dancers and all design of the stage, the costume, and the lighting really.
Don't miss it!!

Best,

Haco

One of Australia's most innovative dance companies moves through the confines of physical and psychological space in a highly anticipated, intelligent new work

Choreographer Lucy Guerin is known for the high level of detail in her work and for its ability to synthesise the conceptual and the physical. She has received numerous awards including the Helpmann Award for Best Dance Work for Structure and Sadness, which premiered at Melbourne Festival in 2006.
Corridor looks at our ability to live together according to the accepted laws of humanity. It questions whether we can respond adequately to the increasing demands of our individual lifestyles as well as to the greater problems that threaten our world.
The audience sits in a corridor formation of two long single rows facing each other, effectively becoming part of the set. Each viewer has a unique perspective of the work, with the performers seen at very close range or at a distance as they move up and down the corridor.
Guerin collaborates with Japanese experimental composer Haco who has an international reputation for her unique explorations into post punk vocals and environmental sounds. In Corridor she will blend live recordings of public interiors with experimental pop to create a delicate, eclectic sound design.
Corridor is an investigation into human activity, both mental and physical, in places of waiting and transit. It is an intimate performance work which connects audience to performer and explores the individual's place within the sphere of public interaction. A connecting space reflects the way people view themselves, what they aspire to be, and what they feel is expected of them in relation to standards set by society and the media.
