I just started watching Fate Stay Night and of course I'm addicted to it. But for today, I feel like I need to say a few things about Rozen Maiden. I'll post Rozen Maiden: Traumend review but I'm not sure when so stay tune!

Synopsis: Due to a deep trauma at school Sakurada Jun has refused to return. He spends his time in his room, surfing the web and ordering anything that takes his fancy, only to return the items just before payment is due. One day, he finds a web site that tells him to put his order in a drawer of his desk. He does so thinking it to be a joke, only to find that the letter disappears and a strange package arrives soon afterwards. It contains an exquisite doll, that, when wound, comes to life. She treats him as a servant of little worth, but over time helps him come to grips with his fears and in the life-or-death fights that soon follow her arrival.

Comment: Okay, you read the synopsis and you think that this guy has become like a girl - playing with the doll. This is some of the misperception of what people think when they heard about Rozen Maiden, and another one is it's shoujo anime because they're dolls. The truth is, this is not the typical supernatural kind of anime and least of all, it doesn't even have the shoujo element. So let's debunked some of the myths about Rozen Maiden. Firstly, these dolls are....well don't behave like dolls. Since these dolls have magical power and behave like human, so all you see throughout the anime is the dolls are fighting each other which means  this anime is  fulls of actions and suspense. So definitely not shoujo anime. I don't want to spoil you why they're fighting each other so if you watch the anime, you'll understand what I mean. Secondly, Jun may have the ability to sew (it's so uncommon for guys) but he didn't make any new dresses for these dolls. He just used his ability to fix their dresses, nothing else. In other words, he still a guy and behave like a guy. The only different is he has to give some of his power to the doll so the doll will become stronger and can defeat the enemy, who ever the enemy is. Thirdly, he maybe pathetic but if you can understand his trauma, so he has a reason to be pathetic as he currently is. Rest assure, it's not that all they do is fight. There's always comedy to fill in the serious part, so it's still enjoyable to watch. I must say the violence in this anime is approriate so it's definitely suitable for kids. This anime has a deep storyline (as usual) so if you're curious about this anime, give this anime a try.

I almost finished watching Ghost Hound but I already write the review for Ghost Hound. Okay, when I'm watching Ghost Hound, the deep storyline reminds me of Serial Experiment Lain. Perhaps, maybe I should write a review about it since I've been watching this kind of anime lately.

Synopsis: Lain Iwakura appears to be an ordinary girl, with almost no experience with computers. Yet the sudden suicide of a schoolmate, and a number of strange occurrences, conspire to pull Lain into the world of the Wired, where she gradually learns that nothing is what it seems to be... not even Lain herself.

Comment: My very first reason why I'm so eager to watch this anime is because of the character design. I've seen Yoshitoshi Abe's artwork in a magazine before so that was when I was attracted to Lain. Besides that, he's the character designer for Niea_7 so that's make me so familiar to his artwork. Who am I to talk about someone else's artwork if I myself can't even draw. Overall, this anime can be very hard to undestand if you miss one of the episode. I've been watching this anime eagerly but still I don't really understand much what's going on. This anime is all about the world of cyberspace so you'll see there'll be a lot of transition between the real world and the abstract world (cyberspace world). There's no computer jargon involved so rest assure about that. You might feel lost in the middle of the storyline but all of your doubts will be answered soon as the story progressed. As recommendation, not recommended for children below 14 but still children might feel this anime is boring as hell unless they are computer geeks. As mentioned before, it's an anime with a very deep storyline so if you love this kind of anime, you should watch this regardless you're a huge fan of Yoshitoshi Abe's artwork (like me) or not.

I haven't finished watching the anime but seriously I'm so eager to share my view about this anime. Besides that, it was also been showcased in Tokyo Anime Fair so I bet peole would've seen or heard about this anime.

Synopsis: Production IG's 20th Anniversary Project, Ghost Hound is set in the modest town of Suiten, located in a desolate region in the island of Kyūshū. The story follows the experiences of three boys who have had traumatic experiences in childhood from which they have learned to transfer their souls to a parallel world known as the "Unseen World". The Unseen World is however undergoing a change, with its ghosts starting to appear in the real world, altering it in unpredictable ways.

Comment: This is another supernatural anime that got me glued to the TV screen besides Mushishi. At first, I thought that it's just the typical supernatural anime but I was clearly wrong. This anime is solely focused on the psychology point of view so there are quite a few psychology jargon words but believe me, it's not as boring as attending neuroscience lecture. It also explains the symptoms of the related disorders and yes, there's definitely neurology involved since this anime is focused on the psychology issue. Besides that, there are also mysteries in the strings of events that occured those boys in the past so there is still plot besides all the psychology mumbo jumbo. I must say the mysteries in this anime make me glued to it even more because you thought the mysteries about to reveal but when it's revealed, it leads to another mystery. It may sounds frustating but actually it's not. It's not the detectctive kinda anime to begin with so I just want to say enjoy the anime as much as I do. Children may find this anime boring unless they're so into supernatural thingy  but if you're searching for anime that is equally adult, this anime is definitely for you

As I promise you, Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori review today. This is the second season of Jigoku Shoujo. Just to let everyone knows that there'll be new Jigoku Shoujo anime called Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae which will be released in October 2008 so stay tune!

Synopsis:  Ai Enma once again returns as the Jigoku Shoujo, who uses Jigoku Tsuushin (Hell Hotline) to allow people to post their grudges on their tormentors, sending them straight to Hell. In exchange, the users of the website will end up in Hell after they die. Meanwhile, a mysterious girl with purple eyes called Kikuri appears and seems to have strange intentions towards Ai and Jigoku Tsuushin's operation.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: If you have watched the first season, everything I say may not sounds odd to you. If you noticed the patterns in each episodes in the first season, it always starts with the person starts to seek revenge and contact Jigoku Tsuushin and Enma Ai and friends help the person send them to hell. But in the second season, it's no longer follows the order just like in the first season. Each episode always have different pattern so you'll realized that every episodes have different case even though it's basically just the same thing. I must say that the story telling in Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori is very well done. You'll get to see Enma Ai's sidekicks more in this second season. Another thing that I noticed was Enma Ai has new outfit. She still wears the school uniform if she has to see the 'client' but her kimono has new design. It's not that I have a kimono fetish but maybe the new kimono design marks the second season. The story didn't really reveal much about Kikuri so perhaps we'll know more about her in Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae. The warning for the first season is still applicable in this second season and I think it's more depressing than ever. I'm repeating this all over again just to make sure you're cautious about this. If you have watched the first season, watch this second season and if you've never watched the first season, I recommend you to watch.

Since I'm currently watching Ghost Hound, this anime reminds me of Jigoku Shoujo a bit. It's called Hell Girl in english if you're not familiar with the japanese title. As for Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori review, I'll try to post it probably tomorrow.

Synopsis: Somewhere in the vast sea of the Internet, there's a website that can only be accessed at the stroke of midnight. Known as the Jigoku Tsushin, rumor has it that if you post a grudge there, the Jigoku Shoujo will appear and drag whoever torments you into the inferno. Very little is known about the girl - all we know for sure is that she lives with her equally enigmatic grandmother, that three magical straw dolls accompany and serve her, and that whenever a posting on the Jigoku Tsushin moves her, she becomes the Jigoku Shoujo.

Comment: Just from the synopsis of this anime, I really find that the anime is truly amazing. What I really like about this anime is that it focuses on the revenges that we want to seek. Even though we already know the circumstances, but as long as we're okay with it, it's fine. Even though the pattern of the storyline is the same in every episode, each episode always have different story with different revenge. Believe me, you'll never get bored of this anime. Who would've thought that technology can actually connect to hell hotline and the real world. Talk about tech-savvy. This anime can be very violent and depressing most of the time, so this anime is definitely not for children. If you're seeking something different, this anime is for you.

I haven't finished reading this manga yet since there's only a few books left to complete the series, so let's just take a look at it.

Synopsis: Recca is a ninja. At least in his own mind. When he one day meets and saves the young girl Yanagi he pledges to be her ninja, defending her with his life. She shows him that she has the power of healing and in return he shows her his secret power of creating fire with his hands. But soon evil powers start reaching for them. Some wanting Recca's ability to use fire and others wanting eternal life through experiments with Yanagi's body, something that Recca and his friends definitely can't allow.

Comment: So let's talk about the artwork first. Some people may not like Nobuyuki Anzai's stroke because you may think it's not pretty enough. I know nothing about arts but that's I'm okay with it as long as it doesn't look like a shoujo manga. The story isn't really that intense at the beginning but once the battle between Kurei and Recca begins, the story is getting more interesting. I don't recommend this manga to kids because this manga is fulls of violence and there are some nudity, just to warn you in advance. This manga is differen than Naruto even though the story is still revolve around ninja. But still, if you do love ninja story, this is another manga that should be added into the collections.

I'm so sorry again for another hiatus due to my laziness. But please don't shoot me!! Since I already changed my layout to Chobits, so here's the review for Chobits.

Synopsis: In the future, personal computers have developped into "Persocons", mobile computers that look like human beings. Hideki Motosuwa, a prep school student, desperately wants to buy a Persocon but cannot afford to. One day he finds a Persocon that has been thrown away and decides to keep it. When he turns on the Persocon, all she can say is "Chii" so he decides to name her that. After a while it starts to become apparent that Chii is more than an average Persocon. Having much better performance, it seems that Chii might be a "Chobit", a type of advanced Persocon rumoured to have independent thought.

Comment: I watched this anime a long time ago but that doesn't mean I don't have the right to speak out, right? Personally, I do really love this anime as the first few episodes really cracked me up. If you want to improve your Japanese vocabulary, this is the right anime to watch because Hideki will teach Chii about all the stuff they've seen. As the story progressed, things can get pretty serious so there's barely any jokes but it can also be very confusing at some point. You'll understand the storyline better if you have read the manga. And I don't really understand the ending as I feel there's something missing and it end up making the ending looks like having a clifthanger. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm spoiling the ending but I feel it's a great anime if they didn't really screw up the ending part. When I was watching this anime, I was really shocked because this anime doesn't end perfectly with so many things left unsolved. Another thing that I need to mention here is this anime is definitely not for kids as there a little bit of explicit contents so watch this anime with parental guidance if you're below 14.

Sorry for my lack of update. It's not that I don't have anything to watch but it's just that I didn't get the chance to write the review. Here you go.....

Synopsis: Tsukamoto Tenma is an ordinary 2nd year high school student who has fallen in love with one of her classmates, Karasuma Ooji. However, currently she is unable to confess her feelings to him. To make things worse, she found out that Karasuma is transferring to another school in a year. On the other hand, Tenma's other classmate, Harima Kenji (who is a delinquent) is also in love with Tenma. Not being able to confess his feelings, Harima gets depressed day by day.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: When I'm watching this anime for the first time, I find that Tenma is such an idiot and I have a feeling that I may not enjoy this anime if the story only revolve around Tenma's love drama. After watching a few episodes, I think that it wasn't such a bad anime. There are certain episodes that I find it funny but ridiculous at the same time. Overall, it's the anime that everybody will enjoy watching even the kids. Don't worry so much about explicit contents because there's no such thing in this anime.

I just watched this movie last weekend and thought that I want to share my opinion about this movie. Sorry about the image. I’m trying to find the bigger one but this is the only image I find it favourable to me m(..)m

Synopsis: L is recruited to save humanity from a deadly virus that wiped out a whole Thai village and his friend F. His opponents are K and a twisted environmental group who want to "cleanse" the world of it’s excess population with the deadly virus. His accomplices are two young children - a English speaking boy who’s the only survivor of the virus infected Thai village; and a Japanese school girl who’s the child of the Professor who developed the virus antidote. His FBI partners are Watari, and Sugura who joins later as a brief comical decoy for L on the run.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: I’m not really a huge fan of L since I’m more on Raito’s side but I might as well just watch it since Matsuyama Kenichi has done a wonderful job being L. Physically. I thought that L is the kind of person who doesn’t know how treat kids but it seems like he’s doing a good job babysitting them. This is the other side of him that I’m not really sure since L never behave like this in the manga. From what I heard, this movie is actually adapted from the Death Note novel so do correct me if I’m wrong. Since the main story itself is focusing on L, so you barely see any other casts. As far as the story concerns, I don’t really find the story is hard to understand even though you really have to pay attention on the conflicts in this movie. All of the viewers’ curiosity will be answered little by little throughout the movie so don’t worry about the movie kills your rain cells. There are quite a number of disturbing image so watch with caution. It’s not necessary for you to watch the previous movie as this movie itself can stand on its own. Watch this if you’re a fan of Matsuyama Kenichi or L but even if you don’t, it’s an enjoyable movie to watch.

Today, let’s just talk about animal based anime. Most of the animals in the anime are always mystical creature but this anime is about a lost cat.

Synopsis: Chi is a kitten who accidentally gets separated from his mother, and is unable to find his way home again. A small boy and his family find Chi and give him a home, although all Chi wants is to return to his mother.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: This is a very short anime (around 5 minutes) so if you’re really busy I guess this anime is meant for you. I must say that this anime is adorable. I never read the manga before so I’m not really sure whether is there any change in plot or not but Chi is really cute. If you love cat, this anime will definitely make you squel. It’s a very hilarious anime so do have a look at this anime. It’s still on-going in Japan so I’m not sure when it’s over. I’m looking forward to know the ending of this anime.
