In case you haven't noticed, Crowded House has been very...well...crowded lately. Since we're growing so much lately, we have decided to start a SECOND Crowded House service @ 9:30am. The 11am service will remain unchanged, but if 9:30am works for your schedule, come and check it out. It will be the same format as the original, so come worship with us as we take this huge step forward for our ministry!
First 9:30 Service will be on MAY 13TH!

Big man teaches us the bible in no time at all, Hes spittin on us and lookin real tall.

This week its Galatians with Saul and Paul, Jesus knocked him off his horse like a big wake up call
Lots of fun times, lots of spirits to lift, Its our favorite time of the week, at the loft, its SHIFT
by Andrew Price, quite possibly the best poet of our time.

some of yall asked about this part of last sunday's sermon, so i thought i'd just post it for ya.
love you guys,
brian
KNOWLEDGE, FAITH & PASSION: SOME SPIRITUAL MATHEMATICS
Defining Terms:
Knowledge - An initial understanding of how salvation works, and then learning the nature of Christ through scripture and prayer.
Faith - applying the concepts of the gospel to one's own life personally, making those concepts a reality. accepting the gift of grace one has come to understand through knowledge.
Passion - an excitement that is the natural result of understanding and experiencing the love of Christ as personified on the cross. characterized by the desire to learn about and spend as much time with God as possible. the overflow results in a tendency to tell others about the source of one's joy.
The Equations:
- Knowledge + Faith - Passion = Impersonal Relationship
Tends to be cold and private. Little to no sense of urgency. No desire to go deeper. Indifferent to pursuing growth. Must ask yourself, "Do I REALLY understand this stuff? If I understand it, do I REALLY believe it?"
- Faith + Passion - Knowledge = Shallow Relationship
Faith and passion are limited by grasping only a few of the many truths of the gospel that are beautiful and empowering. Excited about the few things that are comprehended, but lacks depth. Similiar to knowing only a few basic things about a friend or family member you claim to love.
- Knowlege + Passion - Faith = False Relationship.
Excited about the concepts of salvation and the gospel, but concepts have not progressed into accepted reality; no relationship. Understanding of how the gospel works, but never really bought in. Convinced its all for someone else. Like receiving a Christmas present, and never actually opening it.
- Knowledge + Passion + Faith = True Relationship
You're actions are an unmistakable refection of your love for Jesus. The knowlege you have of him causes you to desire to know Him more daily. You spend time with Him out of joy, not obligation. You are incapable of keeping it to yourself.
so...which kind of relationship do you YOU have with Jesus???

Well, after much anticipation our new youth ministry warehouse, The Loft, will be opening its doors to the public for the first time on August 20th @ 9am for an open house/party to celebrate this new era for Rebelbase Ministries.
Our new building features a coffee shop, 2 lounges, "The Green Room" (huge junior high meeting area), "The Hangar" (huge senior high area which doubles as music venue), caged in sport court for basketball and dodgeball, game room like nothing you've seen before (including a floor-to-ceiling, double-sided, head-to-head video game screen)...basically its going to be FREAKIN' INCREDIBLE!!!
Also, we have some great folks coming in to do this party right. Leeland, one of the biggest buzz bands in the country will be putting on a concert. Southcity will be back by popular demand for a hip-hop concert, and Dave Edwards will be making us laugh and delivering an encouraging message.
Mark your calendars now, and bring all your friends! Anyone and everyone is welcome!!!
