HERE WE GO!



We've been kind of missing in action for the past coup e of months; 2009 was such a massive year for us but definitely not in the way we planned it to be, and though we've still been playing shows, writing and demoing for our new EP, we needed to step back for a bit and take a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE breather. Especially Trist and myself, after having gone through what we did with his cancer and all his treatment, the stress and worry. Cancer is a huge, shitty thing to have to get through and we definitely felt it by the end of the year.

So I just wanna stop right here and thank everyone who has stuck by us through this whole year, and for understanding that we couldn't be the BEST band we wanted to be, we couldn't tour, we couldn't release a record. But we gave it everything we psyically and mentally could this year and it's an amazing feeling to know that you guys still believe in us through (hopefully) the worst time this band will ever go through.

Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts - even if that sounds cheesey. :)

NOW ONTO THE GOOD STUFF!

NEW SONG.
This is a song I've been promising to send out for a few months now and I'm stoked to finalllllyyyyyyyy be able to release it to you guys. This is a demo version of what kind of sound you can expect on the EP next year. It's called 'All My Friends Are Zombies', we've been playing it at shows for a little while now so some of you may have heard it already but we'd still  ove your feedback on it. Love it? Hate it? Death Threats? WHATEVER :D

NEW MEMBERS?
Okay. So the year pretty much wouldn't be complete without a good old GVG line up change, right? So as tradition goes, Jason has decided that his time in Girl Vs Ghost is complete and he will no longer be playing with us. We wish him all the
luck in the world with whatever he decides to do next.
On that note, we'd like to officially welcome our new friend Steven (aka Stevie J) as our new bass player! He's been the mysterious guy playing with us for the last few months and we're stoked to finally accept him as a new member. GIVE HIM AS

SO WHATS THE DEAL WITH THE EP?
Well, you can expect it in early 2010.
I'm not going to give too much away just yet, but we have somehow managed to score a VERY SPECIAL GUEST to play bass on a couple of our EP tracks. He'll be recording tracks for us from New York and he's been a massive inspiration to our songwriting from the day we started this band. But you're gonna have to wait a little long to find out who he is! OH don't you just love the suspense?!!!

...CANCER!!!

That's fucking right! I Tristan Peter Waight have finally beaten my battle with cancer!!! Maaaan, I'm beyond super stoked right now and I can't thank everyone enough for their strong support with my battle.

If you are just a new friend to Girl Vs Ghost basically I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4b Cancer (which basically means it's almost beyond curable at stage 4 and you probably get given one week to live). It had riddled my body from my abdomen, lung lining, lungs, scapular and collar bone. I was riddled in pain for 12 months but still kept playing shows and writing tunes, then after going to at least 5 different doctors, 2 physios and 1 osteopath I finally got a CT scan which displayed I had the cancer. I was diagnosed on December 1st with a 30-40% chance of beating the cancer. From then I had a biopsy under my arm, 6 months of HARDCORE 7 hour chemo with the biggest needles you'll ever see in your life and obviously constant blood tests and scans.



Well I had surgery last week to remove the remaining of a tumour to the left of my heart and they got it and can safely say it is no longer in my system and I am 100% back to normal with a killer hair cut!!! haha!


Seriously, i'm really stoked and there are probably a billion typos and grammar mistakes but I don't care...coz I fucking beat cancer!

Oh I'll give you a quick update on the band too! As I was at home for almost a year with cancer I think it's safe to say that we as a band have written the best songs so far for our brand new EP set to be released early 2010! I'm so sorry for letting anyone down with the album plans, etc. We have all agreed that it is a lot easier for us to simply do a 7 track EP with brand new songs, national tours, promos and myspace.

The myspace has been so stale due to the constant rush of going to hospital and writing tunes, etc. I'm now getting everything into gear now with new promos, tunes, tours and videos weekly!!!

I'd love to especially thank my family and my amazing girlfriend Amber, I love you all so fucking much.

Hey everyone!

Thank you to EVERYONE who applied to the model position we had available!
Our management received pages of emails and messages with applicants which made the response overwhelming!

Management have now chosen the model which they will be working with for our new EP artwork, out early next year. But don't be disheartened if you were not chosen! We are keeping all applicants on file for when we are looking for models to model our new line of tshirts and other merchandise!

Hey everyone!

Our management are currently searching for a female model to pose for our cd artwork set to be released early 2010! The CD will feature the model on the front cover which will be distributed all around the globe via physical distribution and of course online such as itunes, etc!

We're looking for a female (female because of the theme we are going with, which we can't say just yet!) who would be willing to travel to either Melbourne or Ballarat, Victoria within the next two weeks. They must be aged between 17 - 30 and be able to work around management's schedule for a shoot.

It's a great opportunity especially for a modeling port folio!

First of all, the mailing list is coming along nicely. I've become completely obsessed with trying to recruit the 500 members and you guys have been such a huge help by letting everyone know about it. THANK YOU to every single person who came out to the Cancel Out Cancer show last night! Even if you didn't come to see us, you still helped out a seriously amazing cause.

For all the people who stuck around all night to see us play, thank you for making the show absolutely amazing for us! This was one of the best shows we've ever gotten to play, and we're glad that we got to share it with all of you.

And a huge thank you to Jac and her team for pulling off one of the best shows of the year!

We're in the process of organising a few more shows here and there before we head into the studio in August to record out debut album, so stay tuned for some more AA shows, and some 18+ shows as well.
In the mean time, we'll be super busy with pre-production and demoing the hell out of all our songs so they're ready for your listening pleasure :)
