I am very pleased to announce I am now officially endorsing Pigtronix effects. Pigtronix makes the best, most versatile analogue pedals in the world. Combining the best proven technology of the past with current methods to create their distinguishable F.A.T tone, as in futuristic, analog technology tone. Pigtronix effects are the premium, boutique brand on the market. If you need something simple and cheap, look else where, but if you need a pedal to recreate that VST plugin on your computer, Pigtronix may be your only hope. Pigtronix makes very powerful tone production gear, which include the Echolution delay and the Philosophers tone infinite sustain. You can buy Pigtronix effects at your favorite local dealer or go to musicians friend online at

I will be adding the Pigtronix Philosophers tone to my front end and the PolySaturator distortion unit. I will also be using the Echolution in my live stereo rig for future gigs.
As far as effects pedals in general, you usually get what you pay for, but sometimes more is not what you need. In general the bulk of your money should be spent on pedals you use all the time, like distortions, overdrives and compressors. If you use a compressor all the time, you better get a good one like the Pigtronix Philosopher's tone as a cheap compressor will be a noisy hiss box. Don't feel guilty getting an expensive distortion pedal, if that is your tone, then so be it. On the flip side however blowing your budget on that pedal you only use on one song isn't a good idea. That $300 boutique brand chorus pedal may sound good, but not if it is never on. The cheaper the pedal usually the more hiss and hum it will bring you and a few in a row will leave your tone unbearable. Also cheap pedals are not true bypass and too many will cut your signal output negatively affecting your tone before they are even on. When designing your pedal array keep these things in mind. Blow your wad on the toys you play with all day and pinch your pennies on the specialty "once in a blue moon" effects.
