What up yall, been a minute since i made a blog entry, but here go... I got a new record coming out this summer, I been working REALLY REALLY hard on it, and best of all it will be free to the public via www.rappersiknow.com i got some really dope features on it, some of which will surprise alot you. As soon as the record is sent off to be mastered, i wil fill you in on all the details, but keep your eyes on my page cause the record is nearly done. We are shooting two videos for the album which will be available for view via www.rappersiknow.com as well, and will be released the same day as the album. This record really means alot to me for the simple fact that its a dedication to a group of people who have been through hell and back and are just now coming into their own. Anyway like I said, more details as they become available....so now for the frustration part....I know many of my friends and fellow artists can identify with this, but the ego's in this hiphop shit are OUT OF CONTROL....I know rappers frustrations with the producer now being in the forefront, and alot of producers are out of line with the BS they chargin ma fukas for, but DAMN I work REALLY hard at this shit. I dont have a regular job, this is it...I make records for a living, so when dudes ask for the beat cd, and wanna cop a few tracks, when i break down the prices for them, they flip out... now I have worked with a few well known cats, but I aint charging wild out prices...shit right now, i got a 3 beats for 275 deal right now...thats some homie hook up shit right there....but when the sale aint going on, and i want a little 250.00 to 300.00 per beat, dudes trip....LOL, its like cats dont realize what goes into this production game. As producers, as REAL PRODUCERS, we spend a sizable amount of dough to make sure our tracks sound as prestine as possible...we all know what that entails...digging for records, buying equipment, maintaining what we already have etc...So Really honestly and truly, whats 250.00 bucks for a beat, when I might have spent 5 to 6 hours on a track, and maybe the record i got the sample from I paid 45 to 50 dollars for....shit, gotta make up that back end money some how...now im not downgrading the fact that mc's take a lot of time and effort into creating their own craft aswell, but lets be REAL here, you guys get to buy a notebook and write what comes to mind. Now mind you thats no easy task im fully aware of that, and most mc's i know and respect know the world on both ends, but you young cats need to realize what goes into this production game. Just cause you make beats dont make you a producer, and just cause you write raps, dont make you a rapper...costs money to make money yall, thats all im saying.... but anyway enough of that shit....PLEASE keep an eye out for the new record, ITS FREE!!!!!!! and im out!!!!!
