Hello everyone!

It's been a quite a good while since we posted an update, so let me see if I can fill ya in on everything that has happened with us since June 2008.

Ok, so we were set to record a full length album over the course of the Summer in 2008 with Adam Phaneuf, drummer of The Last Barbarians, in his home studio in South Philadelphia, PA.  The album was going to have all of our demo songs (revised & refined) along with 3 songs that were written with our old guitarist, Sal DeJoseph, as well as the first 2 songs that were written with our new guitarist, Eric Benites.  Unfortunately, due to our personal schedule and Adam's personal schedule we were unable to complete the recording process, which was about 85% complete at the time.

Around the Spring of 2009 we made a decision that we would spend the next several months finishing up the 6 new songs that we had started writing while trying to finish the recording process with Adam Phaneuf.  Once we had them polished and ready to go we were planning on recording a full length album in a professional studio environment.  the album would consist of all 8 songs that we have written with Eric Benites, and the final 3 songs that were written with Sal DeJoseph.  Practices were focused primarily on our new songs so we could have them 100% ready to record around January 2010.

Recently, we have put a lot of thought into the future of this band, as well as the album we are planning to record.  We want to put out our most up to date material, to show what we have become and the direction we are taking.  So, we have decided that we are going to scrap the recording of any old material and will be recording a 7 song album in Mid-January 2010 at Soundmine Studios in East Stroudsburg, PA with audio engineer John Rupp.  These will be 7 of the 8 new songs that we have written with our new guitarist Eric Benites.  The songs will speak for themselves and we hope that all of you will enjoy them.

Over the next couple months we will be practicing, refining, and playing any offered shows that we can.  We are also looking around for an artist to handle our album artwork.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to contact us.  We will be posting any updates as they unfold, as well as video footage from the studio while we record the album this January 2010.  We currently have a nice stock of T-Shirts (2 designs) for sale, and FREE demos of our track "Humournity" that will be available at each show, or by contacting us for purchase info.  There will be images of the T-Shirts posted online in about a week.

Well, I'm pretty sure I touched every topic.  So, have a kick ass holiday season and be sure to check back for updates in the future.  We look forward to seeing ya out at the shows!

-  Steve

Currently we are in the process of recording our full length which will consist of 5 new songs and re-recorded versions of our demo songs.  We felt it was important to re-record the demo songs because, well, we rushed through the recording and really had no idea what we were doing.  Most of them were one takes and were recorded live, all things considered they don't sound bad but nowhere as good as they should have.
We initially planned to record "Humournity"with Adam Phaneuf, of The Last Barbarians, for the L-Cast compilation but since we were lugging all of our equipment down to South Philly he said why not just record 2 additional tracks to see how they would sound before we really hit the studio.  After recording "Humournity" we were pleasantly surprised how awesome it came out and really enjoyed the ambiance of Adam's place so we decided to go with him.  We figured why go to an overpriced by-the-numbers recording studio that doesn't give a fuck about us and just wants money when we can record with someone who actually enjoys what we do.  Sure we could go to some fancy studio and make a completely fake CD with drums that sound completely unnatural because they were pasted from start to finish but we don't want to be a band that sounds completely different on recording than we do live, what you see is what you get with us.  We will not deceive you with fancy editing and 'unnatural' playing like so many other bands.
But I digress, now on to the actual recording of the album.  Right now all of the drum tracks have been laid down by Mr. Konopky over the days of June 17th, 18th, and 19th.  Chris and Femmie will be going down next to lay down the guitar tracks followed by me to track out the bass lines (could be in reverse order, depends on our schedules I suppose).
Well that is pretty much all there is to say.  I will update this blog as the recording progresses.

There has been a change to the Prosper Or Perish lineup. In a mutual decision Sal has stepped down from guitar. Good friend Eric aka Femmie will take on full guitar duty. It was a hard decision since Sal is a great friend of all of us. We as a band really want to pursue our music career (Writing, recording, touring etc) and unfortunately Sal has some priorities that are ahead of the band that conflict with us being able to move forward. That being said we are all still friends and we all wish Sal the best.

In other news, we have some new songs written and a few more to be written. We plan to start recording a full length within the next few months, most likely 10-12 songs. We're also getting hoodies and t-shirts made up in the next month or so. So make sure to be on the lookout for those. Also be ready for a possible east coast tour this spring/summer.

Well, I've (Jeff) been smoking mad mother nature and doing all that is d-bo and working on my site http://www.SicZine.com  Konopky has been eating Wings To Go with buffalo garlic sauce, Sal got an Iphone and constantly gets his Cobalt SS worked on, Chris is wearing Ecko and just got into the brick layers union and Steve has been taking shits so big that you could build a modern day Valley Forge.

As a collective unit we have been working on new songs for an upcoming split with our good homies from Italy, Hungry Like Rakovitz.  The songs are hard as nails and we still don't have clean singing.  Who knows when this will actually be out but it will, this I can assure you.  We will also be working on a collaboration song with a very special Philly artist.  I'm not going to namedrop until everything is set in stone.

We also are trying to get on pretty much any weekend show we can, so if you can help us with shows in PA/NJ/DE let a mua fucka know whats really good.

Dudes send us pictures of you smoking blunts/bongs with Prosper or Perish written somewhere.  Girls write Prosper or Perish on yo titties and ass and you will be rewarded handsomely.

And also, check out this site about the people that help make Philly what it is, the site is called Under The El

That is all.
